As a relatively experienced mountaineer (in Scottish hills) Will, your advice about striking for the summit when you are concerned about weather, physical challenges or just 'that feeling' is excellent. This is great advice and sometimes difficult to follow if you have planned/paid for the trip and want to 'bag the Monroe'. Trust yourself - and come back another day. Your advice on the EAP (emergency action plan) is great too. I always add nearest hospital and directions to the route and overnight sites just in case. Great content - thank you for sharing.
Hey Will, great video. The scenery was beautiful, I do like the snow makes everywhere look nice. Glad you went back down, the sound of the river was amazing, so calming. Stay safe. 😊
Hi and nice to see a great bivy camp, you can’t beat it, and the spot and scenery were spot on, As long as you can stay warm for the evening it’s great to be out in the air rather than in a tent, can I ask if it was an army gortex bivy ? What was the point of the Rab bivy on top ? I use either an Alpkit Hunka or an army bivy bag and sleep with my head open and use the tarp to give me the protection I need, but I still see the sky, Really enjoyed this one, hopefully will do the same tonight minus the snow Keep em coming Cheers
Are you doing the world record attempt tonight? Yes it was a goretex army one, just for this one to protect the sleeping bag as I was meant to be going out the next night to the bushcraft camp but didn't have enough time to dry it if it got soaked with condensation. I prefer an open top bivvy but I'm glad I had this one as It rained a lot during the night.
Wow, what a location and I can see why you describe it as one of the best you've slept in. Beautiful sights and sounds, and thanks for the effort you put in to creating these and sharing them. May I ask, what is the silver folded sleep mat you use? Cheers.
That look a great camp out , I tried a bivvy for first time a month ago ,was fine for a couple of hours then completely panicked at being closed in and bailed out !
Wow,fair play to you Will I do everything i can to avoid the snow and you go searching for it😄 Just as well we are not all the same. Great location and video, thanks for sharing.all the best🏴
Really nice video. I found the storm bivvy only good for a sleeping bag cover in something like the Lanshan 1 Pro. There is too much condensation . You have to not zip it up and only use the velcro around the entrance if you have to close up with you in it.
Great bivy camp, for some reason I missed this or forgot to watch it when you posted it ! Can’t beat a bivy, I just use a bivy under a small tarp for the head end and love being in the open air, can I please ask, what was the point of using the storm bivy when the gortex one would have been ok Really enjoyed the camp Cheers
Thanks, I have found that the goretex one seems to have lost its waterproof ability so need to re treat it but I got the storm bivvy for my Christmas so wanted to use it in a video. 😊
I love it but you are correct about the condensation. I was caught on a trip a few weeks ago in a rainstorm and it was perfect but I keep a section open near my face to try and stop condensation. I take it just in case I may come across someone in trouble on the hills as well.
Wow that was amazing. Brrŕ! Hope you enjoyed the coffee!
Thanks, it was amazing and so warm 🙏

Thanks, what a place to camp 🏕
Another super video mannie. Looked properly 🥶 but you sure had the kit to keep you warm 👍🏻 All the best. J.
One of my favourite trips 😍
Great one Will, nothing better than a good night out without the need of a tent!
It's just so amazing and feels closer to the wild 🙏
Brilliant 👏
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it 👍
Bonito paisaje nevado.
si, pero hace que sea dificil caminar 🥶

It was just stunning 😍

It was a bit weird to start with ⛺️

Thanks Ivor, I absolutely loved it ⛺️

Yeah that's what I did and it was ok but I put an open top goretex bivvy inside to help with the condensation.

What are your thoughts on this bivy overall? It doesnt deal too well with condensation? it hyperlite storm fabric from rab ,is that correct?

@@Macoutdoors361that's the reason I got a rab survival zone..for emergency or occasional bivy. It s light and compact.
@@Macoutdoors361I think if bivy is a main shelter there is no reason not to go with event or goretex, it s just 300g extra.
Very true, I have a goretex one but it is an ex military one and open top one so went for this just incase of snow or rain.
Actually... actual.....
