    I have the same seats but I used my original factory power seat rails which you have power adjustable.

    • @ChaseFarrow
      @ChaseFarrow  2 года назад

      Yeah, so I actually looked into that, but elected to just use their brackets. Once my seat is set, that's it. I don't ever move it, so there's no point in keeping the extra weight.

      @imaboss1998 2 года назад +1

      Was it hard to retain the factory electric seat brackets or do they just bolt right up ?

    • @ChaseFarrow
      @ChaseFarrow  2 года назад +1

      @@imaboss1998 I'm also curious about that, mostly because I know the mounting points on these seats and the factory rails are different. I'm curious as to how you can re-use the factory rails without compromising any safety.

      From what I understand, the company that made them doesn't exist anymore. I bought this one from a friend who had it laying around, so I wouldn't even know where to begin looking for one.

    Maybe I missed it...but how tall are you? I'm 6'4", and constantly hear both the A4's and EVO X's won't accommodate my height like the stock seats do. I really need a proper track day seat for my C5Z. The only thing that MIGHT work, is the A4's are available with the option of shaved base foam to lower seating height..

    • @ChaseFarrow
      @ChaseFarrow  Год назад +1

      Thanks for stopping by! I thought I mentioned it, but I might not have. I'm 6'1". These would definitely work for you as a driver, but I'm not really sure about for track use because of helmet clearance.
      Now, that being said, I use a Corbeau Forza for trackdays, and I have very little helmet clearance.
      A few weeks ago, I did a track day prep video where I went a little bit more in depth on the seat stuff around the 10:30 mark.

    You are absolutely correct about the factory seats. GM would have been better off to have put bean bag chairs in them. I got a set of Corbeau A4's. Best interior money spent is on better seats.

    Here's another vote for the Evo X's. Seats are a game changer for the Vette. Add a shift knob, and the interior is unbelievably improved.
    PS - for track use if you're a taller guy, it's worth shimming the front mount of the brackets up about an inch. Really helps with the driving position, as the Corbeau mounts leave it fairly flat.

      That is true. I forgot to mention that. Thank you!

    Great video I've always wondered if these seats were any good for our cars. For your garage get you a hessaire evaporative cooler. I have one for my 20x40 garage and it helps a lot.

    What is the best seat for a c5 the EVEO X OR THE CARBAU A4s?

    • @ChaseFarrow
      @ChaseFarrow  Год назад +1

      It kinda depends on what you're going for. The overall seating position is good, despite it being fixed-back. That being said, I do have AMT stud extensions, while have allowed me to use washers as spacers on the front to give it a bit more tilt
      The EVO X is very aggressive. It doesn't have much cushion to it, so while it's not uncomfortable, it's not exactly plush. It is good if you're over 6ft like me.
      The A4 is generally a better touring seat, but you won't have the kind of head room that you would with the EVO. It has more cushion, so it's conventionally more comfortable. Having the ability to tilt the seat is nice, as well.
      The Evo feels more racey, whereas the A4 feels more sport-touring.

    I own a C5 Z06 Callaway. I have not found any discomfort with the seating.

    • @ChaseFarrow
      @ChaseFarrow  Год назад

      I don't know what seats come in a Callaway C5; (The only derivative of the C5 from Callaway that I know of is the C12 and I doubt it's one of those).
      That being said, it's not that the factory seats are uncomfortable, per se. They just don't have any bolstering or provide any of the support that you would expect/look for in a high-level performance car.

      @mijosgarage6253 If it's a car that you are going to occasionally track, they're a good option. If you want to take the car on long trips, I'd probably go with the Corbeau A4's.
