That was the other red C5. I'm not sure what was going on with it. I want to say it might have been blow-by, but that's an awful lot of smoke for that
If you wanna come up again with a bunch of corvettes, August 8-11 2024 for a big Corvette meetup. Its the weekend after Miata's at the gap. Similar type of event just with Corvettes. Anti-Boomer Corvette Club.
Hell yeah. Unfortunately, I almost definitely won't be able to swing that, because I'm going to be up in CT for GRIDLIFE Circuit Legends the following weekend :/
I've done the Dragon three times. Twice in my c4 back in 2004 and once in a friends c5.......had a blast

@@ChaseFarrow It took four people to put the roof back on My C4 because of body flex.....the holes and bolts didn't line up....LOL

Thanks, man! Unfortunately, because of the placement of the GoPro, all you could really hear is super loud wind noise :/
@@ChaseFarrow I completely understand! Mine does that also. Cool video anyway. I live in NC and haven’t had time to go to the Dragon.

I recently got a new mic that I'm going to try and use specifically for recording the exhaust. I think it would be cool to have something other that pure wind noise lol
I ended up doing the dragon a few years in a row (work cars and my car), and I'd highly recommend hitting it at night. Maybe not the best idea for footage, but that's when you get a clean run with the safety of oncoming traffic warnings. One thing I really liked about that road was the speed limit situation, you are going to stay in 2nd gear for looooong stretches, and that pairs well with the road and speed limit so long as you stay in lane. Leaving lane is pretty dick on the dragon with all the sporty traffic and zero sightlines, and it's how you piss off the local troopers.
You can do it at night? I thought they closed it at night. I know they close Foothills Parkway, so I just assumed they also closed the Dragon.
@@ChaseFarrowused to be able to at least. It's been a few years, but the dragon is a crucial road so I'd be shocked if they closed it at night.
i do the corvette event in Pidgeon forge every year and the road is normally open at night at least during this event b/c the trip to the dragon doesnt start until like 3pm so by the time everyone gets to the nest its like 6 or 7pm most people take about a 30 min rest then take a few runs up and down before leaving normally just after dark.
i know personally all 3 years id done the event since getting my c5 iv always left after dark that way i get a day run up the dragon and night run down the dragon this being some where about 10 or 11pm ish.
