@@dftooj814 Yeah, but one of the reasons the Dragon is so dangerous is that people go out there, overdrive the road and get themselves in trouble. Then it's 45-60 minutes to get an ambulance out to the site (if you are lucky) and the same to get to a medical center (and then not a true trauma center where you'd really want to be after a serious accident). It's a fun road, but untrained numbnuts cover that road like flies on flypaper. The way he was all over the road, I'm assuming that they closed the road for the video shoot. I also wouldn't want to be plowing through the piles of leaves in this video, hoping that I've got traction.
I've almost been in 2 accidents on that road. One time a Harley locked up his brakes in a turn, fish-tailed into my lane and only my quick reaction time, fresh brakes and standing on the petal saved his ass (we wound up bumper to bumper, about 1-2 feet apart when I got to a full stop). The other time a sport-bike took too much speed into a corner and came across into my lane by a foot or more, head-on. I had a bit of shoulder on my side, so put two wheels of my car into the dirt rather than hit him head-on. My alignment wasn't right for the trip home, but I figured it was better than splattering him into the windshield.

Nice car, good driver, nice driving and for the most part, great camera work - Overall, a great video! But it seems like either the producer, director, editor or all of them does not understand high performance driving and cars as there is waaay to little focus on what is the impressive parts. The reason why the Gymkhana-series works (and I know it's a high, tough and almost unrivaled matching point) is because they let the "hero" moments of the impressive driving sit for longer (whether that is a drifting moment, the speed, a jump or what not) and then use the quick cuts to keep the tempo up. In other words, they are focused on what the action is. The quick cuts here almost serve no other purpose than to show Scott shifting up and/or pulling the handbrake, which is fine, but without giving us any other type of pay-off in the action, it becomes a little too much and almost 16-gears of Fast & Furious-like. There is also a lack in the sense of speed and I think it might be because the sound and pictures are odd or unmatched to the action in a lot of places.
I have done some stunt driving and other types of work for movies and tv myself, so I know how difficult the production is. I don't think this video is bad as such, especially the beginning caught me in and I kept watching for some of the really great camera work and drone shots, but I think this shows how important it is for the right people to understand what action they want to showcase and have a plan for that. That is where people like Scotto comes into the picture or in the regular movie production, let the people with the right amount of stunt experience supervise the shots and co-direct the scenes.

Personally, I'm ok with most of the angels, but I would agree with Bub, that it could potentially have helped them as well to showcase the action - Such things as perception of speed is highly dependable on which shots you use. @@Tyler-ts2ld I haven't been to either of the three places, but I believe you. However, the top of crop film crews would still find their way through it, which at this level of filming (even though it's for RUclips with I guess not the biggest crew) should be possible. Looking it through again, I could see a lot of potentially good spots for "locked" cameras, cameramen, placements of GoPros etc. but if possible or not, I essentially have no right idea. As I mentioned, I think a lot of the frames look good enough. Especially the first minute or so of the video has some really nice shots IMO, and I do like the creative expression of it. I just wish there would be more focus on the action and the stuff that should make this feel special - And that's where I feel like who ever was the lead of this, either did not have the time needed and had to freestyle some or don't understand cars and performance driving enough. As said, I know how difficult these projects can be and I'm not trying to throw anyone under the bus - But it pains me a bit, how much better this could have been. IMO, the scope of this should have been to showcase a crazy touge-styled run, so the storytelling action sequences is the speed of the car flying through the woods, the ondulations of the suspension, the cambered corners, locking of rears, etc. etc etc. These are the 'hero' moments that matters and should be allowed to breath in order to tell the best story.

Awesome driving, awesome car. Amazing road as well. Too bad Subaru is cancelling the STI project and WRX’s and turning their back on all the enthusiasts that helped propel their brand

Every morning on my fifteen mile commute I pass 3-5 WRX cars, by far the most popular sports car in New England anyway.

I would love to see a version of him driving it like the regulars have to drive it...without crossing the lines.

Awesome drone footage and driver skills. I live 5 miles from the Dragon and never heard of anyone driving it like that.

Can we get just a full video of the onboards please? I think that would honestly be a lot more impressive than these quick cuts evey 0.5 seconds
