Could you use a non mesh head drum head with this setup? I would be incredibly convenient for recording the actual sound of the drum and a trigger track along side it for gating the original sound of the drums or sample reinforcing the sounds
+Vdrum Tips Thanks for the info, I just watched the video on the flex 2.0 trigger system and was wondering if that would be the better solution the scenario I previously described
Would you an able to connect the wires from the piezos direct to a socket on the shell instead of a a 3.5mm plug on the disc and then a separate cable to the 6.5mm socket on the shell?
Compared to say a top of the line roland pad or the R Drums package how does it perform? Also how is it Vs you flexi trigger and your solid plate system featured in your e drum conversion series ? Thanks
So if i understand correctly the piezo on the metal base plate is the trigger for the rim shots trough the system mounting rods from the shell? That's cool!
So what is the difference in sound quality, if any, between the RTB and RTS trigger systems? Is it only the mounting bracket or do they use higher quality cones and peizo for the more expensive one? Thanks!
+michael king Hi, the sound is not coming for the trigger, it comes from the module. The RTS triggers more accurate, since the rim sensor is centred. It is also built in a higher quality, the installation process is easier through the elevation screws and overall it reduces unwanted vibrations trough the complex construction.
Vdrum tips I have folow your work and big respect from me.. What do u think about sound from drums + from modul. Noone talk about that i see that as a good idea for some users like me. I dont live in apartment..
any chance of showing a tutorial on how to make the center piece trigger system? I could be wrong but it seems like r-drum does not make RTS triggers anymore :(
+Taewan Kwon Let me check with them. It might be only out of sale for the moment. I got this question quite regularly, but I won't do such a video for the moment, since it would harm those guys business.
+Aleksandar Savic Thanks, but to be honnest, the only innovation are the sliding angles and the bolt pieces. The idea to build a trigger system this way is from drum-tec.
Hi, Congrats for your channel. Your DYI videos are amazing! What do you think about roland triggers, especificaly RT-30HR for use in a TD-9 drum instead of a Roland's PD-10? I want a larger snare, but the PD-12 is too expensive. If i buy a regular acustic snare and a RT-30 trigger, i spend half of the money, but i am not sure about the performance. What you think?
Triggers that are not centered are never as good as centered triggers for Roland modules. What about a second hand pad as snare? PD-125 cost around 150€ used.
I live in Brazil, its difficult to find 12" used ones. But i can buy those germany centered triggers and adapt on an acustic snare here. Do you recommend a model? I am not a professional. I am a beginer/intermediate drummer. It's just a hobby for me. Thanks a lot for you answer!!
+bmonstrosity Hi, I made this trigger myself. It is not for sale. You have basically 2 options if you want to buy such a high end trigger: 1. R-Drums.com sells even more advanced trigger systems similar to this one. 2. drum-tec.de sells identical ones to this one(including shell). They actually invented this system.
Donde puedo comprar ese articulo???
Could you use a non mesh head drum head with this setup? I would be incredibly convenient for recording the actual sound of the drum and a trigger track along side it for gating the original sound of the drums or sample reinforcing the sounds
+Doug Payne I think this setup would change the sound of an acoustic snare. I would go for a smaller internal trigger in this case.
+Vdrum Tips Thanks for the info, I just watched the video on the flex 2.0 trigger system and was wondering if that would be the better solution the scenario I previously described
+Doug Payne No, actually not, the best solution would be the Wronka- or Triggera Trigger (Check videos). They would not effect the sound too much.

yes, correct.
how about kick/bass drum ? can i user this method too ?
What type should I use? foam cone or cylinder?
WHERE CAN I BUY THIS ITEM . Thank you
Does it work with dtx Yamaha modules?
With all of these parts, you could actually buy the rt-10 for same or cheaper. These parts aren't cheap and especially shipping from germany.
Hi, I loved that idea of making my own pads, are you have the PDF files so I can do it? Thanks and nice video.
Hi, no sorry, I would like to sell them in future and not give ut an instruction.

Vielen Dank für die super Tipps
Can you do this with acoustic heads? So you can have the Acoustic sounds with the triggers going to a sound module? Thanks!
No, a trigger sends an electric signal, not a sound. This is not a microphone.
Yes, you can. However the pressures created from playing the drum will seriously double & tripple trigger.
Vdrum tips I have folow your work and big respect from me..

When we can buy it?

+Vdrum Tips I got a reply regarding your question. Just email the guys from R-Drums and tell them your required drum size.
awesome! thanks.
if i used wood instead of metal plates would i still get the same triggering results??
+PF Drummer I guess so.
Haha, i will never wax my arms:D The pain would kill me:D
Very inovative idea! Thanks for sharing!
+Aleksandar Savic Thanks, but to be honnest, the only innovation are the sliding angles and the bolt pieces. The idea to build a trigger system this way is from drum-tec.
i thought the roland td9 does not have the positional sensing tech?
Right, but the pad supports PS with modules that have it.
do u want sell one of that? ..i want buy it
how big are the top and bottom plates?
+PF Drummer I think 120 mm in diameter.
What about dual sensor so you can get the rim shots?
+guitar78ish Yes, the sensor(piezo for the rim shots is in the centre of the big metal disc.
+Vdrum Tips Yeah, I see it under the cone platform...my bad.
Can i like use a sponge as trigger Cone or something like that?
I would not recommend random foam materials. Sponges are too soft. The trigger result will be horrible.
For anyone looking for the right material for a diy cone: Just use a pencil eraser (trim one). Sponge-like material doesn't work.
very good i need these

The R-drums RTB trigger delivers really good results.
+Vdrum Tips thanks!!
Wo kaufst du die verlängerungsschrauben? Und die schwarzen unterlegscheiben (schallabsorber)

+Roman Lutz Hi Roman, schreib mir bitte eine Email, darin beantworte ich dir deine Fragen:) info@v-drumtips.com
Where can I buy this Trigger System?
It is not for sale, you can either buy a drum with such a system from drum-tec.com or an even better system from R-Drums.com
can 2box module take advantage of this?
not sure, as it could cause hot spots. Never tested them with 2box.
Okej. Thanks
Where i can buy all pieces?
From different German suppliers. I will probably sell them in future, so I would rather not give an instruction.
Where can I buy these or did you make them?
+bmonstrosity Hi, I made this trigger myself. It is not for sale. You have basically 2 options if you want to buy such a high end trigger:

Thank you, and by the way, can't say enough how much I love your channel. I find myself going back to it over and over:)
+bmonstrosity Thank you very much. Glad you like the content:)
ok so i found the parts and can def build this
+PF Drummer Cool, send a picture when you are done:)
What are the parts needed for the height adjustable components? It looks like there is some solid piece soldered
on the underside??
May I ask where you found the parts?
Nice man… where did u find them? Thx
3:33 "the setup is simple" HAHAHAHAHAHA. When people with excellent engineering and handy skills make videos.
И чего тут сложного? Никаких "excellent engineering and handy skills", обычные гайки и уголки. А вот как эта конструкция работать будет - вопрос...
junk
Sure:D
