    Another idea is to use fish tank tubing for a rim guard , it’s clear so it looks more natural

    This is so great! 🎉🎉🎉 Looks awesome. Very professional looking and well thought out. I will provide my shipping address and specs ror my drum sizes below 😂.
    Wish i had access to a 3D printer and more importantly, the ability to use the CAD software for the design. Keep the DIY stuff coming. Thanks 👍🏻

    Just to give people an idea I took a used Roland kick tower I had laying around and screwed it into my kick drum shell and cut a small hole in a bass drum head now I have an excellent triggering acoustic electric bass drum , love your videos man thanks for what you do

    thanks for your video, it's one of the best I've seen congratulations! I have some questions to ask you: the aluminum profiles, I think and hope are easily recoverable, but I would like to know how you made the base of the trigger, which is installed on the three aluminum profiles, I understand that it is very particular. Also, are the two piezo triggers the same or is the rim trigger different? Which brand you suggest about trigger kits? I'm using an old, but still functional ROLAND TD-8 module and I also use the rim, not often, but I happen to use it. thank you for your precious support

      Thank you! Yes it’s a 3d printed part. The STL printable soft copy is linked in the description. However you can do without it. You can use any round metal disk or something similar.

    @looseburdens4259 3 года назад

    Woahh that's a great trigger setup you made man, is there any particular reason you opted for a three spoke design rather than a more common 'bridge' type design?

    • @ProjectBeats_
      @ProjectBeats_  3 года назад +1

      Thanks! I was planing on 6 spoke but dint want to bother cutting the alu profile to length. From what I understand, more spokes = better rim trigger response.

    • @johndef5075
      @johndef5075 2 года назад

      @@ProjectBeats_ thats interesting. I have a trigger with just a one arm mount. It works well but i might put a bar of metal or wood under that connects both sides and see how that affects rim response.

  • @Lemonard0
    @Lemonard0 Год назад

    Great stuff! I’m planning to build a DIY snare for my kit but was wondering if it’s worth going for the 3 side trigger setup some newer snares have (like the Roland PDA120L) rather than the one central cone. I hear it plays great and avoids hot spotting issues, you think it’s worth the extra work? Thanks

    • @ProjectBeats_
      @ProjectBeats_  Год назад

      Thanks man! I think really depends on the time & resources you’re willing to spend on it and what having those extra stuff means to you. If you know a lot about the mechanics on how it all works and what usually fails (wc I’m not tbh) then it’s probably worth the trouble. For DIY the simplest solution tends to be the best one imo.

    Hello ! what kind of foam do you put under the cone piezo ? What the point of putting a circle of metal just under this piezo ? I thought the piezo had to be directly on the foam.... thanks !

    • @ProjectBeats_
      @ProjectBeats_  3 года назад

      Hey. The round foam is a pro decoupler by r-drums. It comes with a metal top to put the piezo on. I don’t exactly remember the function but it has more to do with getting more accurate/stable response, or information transfer from hits to piezo. Vdrum tips used a metal top with a DIY foam decoupler on one of his videos too. This is a pro version by r-drums.

    I went for a combination of this build from Vdrum Tips ruclips.net/video/kgRkO_zj30g/видео.html and yours, since I'd rather have some foam to decouple the head piezo from the shell one.
