Quick question from a non FS player looking to buy: I have a fairly powerful PC with 64 gig of ram and a Nvidia 3080 card but its not up to 2024 standards. Would I better better off getting the 2020 version to ensure a smooth flying experience? Thanks in advance.
Not up to 20204 standards??? Bro I have 16gb of ram and a 6650xt so you're miles ahead of me. You'll have no issues with 2024 on 2k. 4k may require some lower settings though. Also, anything above 30fps will be a smooth enough experience so once Asobo sorts on their current 2024 server issues go for it. Happy flying!
Little Jimmy TTS is very excited
For me most important difference is ground physics, improvement is very visible and promising.
Beyond words... truly impressive
even better practicing soft field landings
just missing some details in 2024 which I hope are down to the tech alpha status, but the flight dynamics themselves are immense, the landing... wow!
You got some legs with the video. Nice flight.
Thanks 👍
how did you do the exact same route and camera angel in both sims? Which software is that?
I used FlightRecorder to record the flight data in 2024 and replay in 20...the angles took wayyy too long to get it close enough but it was mainly the in-game drone camera and cockpit views.
What an amazing ride. Loved it!
hopefully the planes dont feel like they have solid suspension anymore and have some give and spriginess on landing
lets hope they updated the satilite view the area i fly in has stuff from 10 years ago lol the road is now 6 lanes instead of the 2
wow what an improvement. impressive
so the sand is raising in 2024, goooood, i wanna see how gliders work, preordered the sim, barely wait for 19 Nov.
The new 2024 seems a lot more blueish and colder with the same light/time of day. Also in this scenario the trees look much better with the seasonal colors, but overall dimension and height feels still not ok. It's very strange because procedural trees in the 2020 are so big and bad that is ridiculous.
I got a little confused 2024 is the right yeah
IMHO, msfs2020 is already stunning. Sure it looks better on 2024, but it's not day and light. What I really like to see improved is controls integration and management. It's always the Achille heel of sim games.
I watched this not knowing which was 2020 and which was 2024 (I missed the intro). Until I saw the dust kick up on landing, then I knew.
Honestly, this did not impress me like other comparisons have.
Understood...your blind test was very informative. We'll find out what more 24 has to offer very soon. Thanks for stopping by.
ATm i think 20 looks better to be honest, maybe with perf not being as good as 24 & although ground details for walkabout etc better I normally fly at FL30 so the ground particles will be of little interest, we shall see how the launch and reviews goes.
Of course the new version got all the new career, and back end having updates instead of us having to download will prob mean a better experiance.
Was your airspeed when you landed? That was pretty bumpy
45kts just prior to touchdown. It was a slight bounce but the sand and terrain amplified it.
So they changed colors of the scenery to add contrast. Yeah, it looks better, but it isn't some huge leap. I remain skeptical.
A ryzen 9800x3d finally had more than 60 fps in this and now they release 2024 version 🐶
what happen ? Why the old is better ? i dont understand, the new one is less detailed
This is the Alpha version of 2024, not the final build. You can expect the full release to be more detailed.
white europeoid pilot avatar included?
which is which? looks the same to me
lol ragebait
@@jetlag8722 no I really couldn't tell the first half of the video
Buy your self new glasses. MS2020 looks better.
are you sure MSFS2024 is the left footage?
The tide is in, is that a mechanic of the game or is that just what they've chosen for sea level? Looking great either way
FS2020 had the UK World Update bespoke Barra airport with landable beach area while the FS2024 Tech Alpha only had a generic autogen Barra airport without the cleared beach area.
Lighting, physics, plane model upgrades < Trees that don't look like they're out of an SCP story 😍
Except there are no trees on Barra
Keep in mind these are during two different times of day and seasons.
Says who? I set the date, time and weather the same for both sims. I was very sure about that.
Crew sound like something from an episode of tin tin. How real is that
X-Plane 13 will have to include world orthoscenery now
Why did you not land on the beach?
The tide was in and the aircraft would either flip over or get stuck so I improvised.
nice to see the tides are now in the sim as well. I used to be Twotter captain with Loganair, in 6 years time I’ve never seen the beach flooded, but that is of course because our schedules would shift with the tides as well.
