- The test drive unlimited Platinum mod may just be one of the greatest mods i've ever come across, as it adds in getting on for 900 cars to the game.

I liked this game because it made acquiring high end cars feel like an accomplishment. In Forza a Ferrari feels no more special than a VW Golf.

in MC3 DUB Edition Remix, that thing was such a blast to drifting to when you upgraded it to the max apart from leaving the tires at stock

It's a carambole billiards table, a game with 3 balls (no pockets). My grandfather had one in his house as he was quite fond of the game.

I bought a physical copy (back when they were still a thing) on Ebay in 2011.
I don't think it is officially sold anywhere.
You may still be able to pick off a copy on Ebay or Amazon, though.
Please note that the Megapack (which includes many nice cars like the Testarossa) has never been released physically and is therefore "lost". It can only be downloaded from "other sources".

It is. The Testarossa is included in the Megapack expansion pack and an updated 3d model (and a 512 TR) is included in the Project Paradise mod.

This mod looks amazing. The work that has gone in to reverse engineer the game to allow this is huge. I remember all the issues even slight performance editing could cause back in the day. Now if I could just find that game disc somewhere...

I love the attention to detail the modders gave for the new cars. The new cars that have screens on them even have the map display and I was mindblown. Granted I actually picked up this game a couple days ago and successfully got the mod installed yesterday. This is pretty awesome

This game was legit ahead of its time, open world like the crew and forza horizon series, imagine this game got remastered!
Personally i prefer if TDU2 got remastered. You could actually walk around your house, it had two islands, and i feel like the game was overall better and had more features.
FYI sir FR its not a snooker table , its a billiard table no pockets needed and only 3 balls . the idea being you hit your ball trying to score points by hitting the other 2 etc. Hope this helps.

Car classes are based on handling/speed and acceleration. The AI goes better with SUV's, because their strongest point is acceleration, but their cornering is quite poop. But since the AI always corners like poop, SUV's end up being on the front.

We need a new Test Drive Unlimited. It just felt like a genuine car collecting experience which Forza Horizon has not duplicated.
A third game is in the works, but it'll probably be a few years until we see it

Bananix HD That’s because of the final gear. If you look at the faq for the mod you’ll see an answer to that question
@@E3T7 So is it possible to change the stat to show the actual top speed instead of final gear speed?
SIowCow123 I forget if you are able to do it manually, but I think Milli (the author) said something like it you change the number then it will mess up the actual speed when you drive it or something. But I think I may have been applying what I said to the wrong thing so I’d just look at her faq. The FAQ is in the mod area, which is in the description of this video.

I chose the impala as my first (used to have a caprice wagon, as pictured)
That impala fully modded is stupid fast! Reaches nearly 600hp if I remember correctly. Its one of the few f-class cars that can do over 180mph
I was hugely into this game when it first came out and looking back I can't really figure out why I stopped playing it, I think it must have been starting college. Then shortly after I came back TDU2 came out and I was hyped. What a kick in the teeth! There were a total of like 3 cars to choose from in the starting class, I "won" a hideous Barbie Pink Mustang I couldn't get rid of or repaint, and NPC's kept calling me on my "phone" over and over browbeating me to go do tasks I wasn't interested in (a preview of coming attractions in other "racing" games sadly... looking at you, Forza Horizon).

I came across this mod years ago while searching for Test Drive Unlimited mods. When I heard it had finally released I had to give it a try. It's absolutely brilliant and I can't stop playing it. A few days ago I bought a Chevy Nova in the game and took it to the American Performance shop. You can select a drag racing performance kit that gives the car something like 3000HP and it becomes a ridiculous rocket ship haha.

One of the best perks of the Platinum Mod is that it brings online multiplayer functionality back!
There is also a FUEL GAUGE option you can have functioning fuel gauge and use gas stations. Also, press F9 to view AI traffic on your GPS.

i really like this version of tdu, epecially the redone physics so after rolling over a hump you don't end up flying for 5 minutes and hardcore mode feels a lot better too. new cars i like, and so on and on and on... now if they could add a bigger map i would be so chuffed :p
Same here, with the hardcore mode, the real work just shows up, its amazing to drive and feel the real weight of the cars, the traction, everything! :D
I seen this a while ago and I'm so glad one of my number 1 childhood games has been revived a bit. Need to get my self a copy for pc so I can get this mod.
I can definitely tell that many of those models have been taken from Forza Horizon 3 and probably 4 too
mostly Forza models yeah, alot for the Motorsport series like the Impala from Motosport 4
@@TheMurlocTamer look especially at the Peugeot 205 GTi 3:58, it clearly has one of the aftermarket wheels you can find in FH4 (i just installed the exact same ones yesterday on the Porsche 944 turbo)
And that is what makes this mod so good you can drive high quality car renders on a map bigger than forzas and use blinkers windows and GPS inside the cars

Must- have- Mod for everyone who still has TDU around. The amount and diversity of the cars is insane, it took me a few hours just to see them all at the dealerships and testrive them :)
Someone doesnt play much pool. Thats a particular, very skilled variation of the game.
Probably my 2nd favorite game EVER, after Jet Set Radio future. I first played this on PS2, and after i figured out how to bridge the connection to my laptop to get online, i was sold. Had it on psp also, and spent hours cruising in the CLS55 on xbox 360.
This mod is friggin AWESOME.. there are plenty of people still online today! (My name is Sheevus), and also, make sure you use the TDUF database editor included in the download, to make minor tweaks to cars, (switched some porsche sound files, lowered redline on some cars because the audio file didnt rev that high, etc). And definitely enjoy the story mode! Earning cars was definitely a great feeling of accomplishment
How does one go about connecting to online in TDUP? Cuz I would be shaking with excitement if I could play with other people. :D

Since the servers are online again, you could do Survive The Hunt. There are actually Viper police cars in the game :D
You need to try Project Paradise as well. It restores the game’s multiplayer and most of it’s multiplayer features.
And it has more active players than you'd think as well! I was so happy seeing people online in TDU again.. Takes you back to the good old times. :)

Loved this game so much, I used to organise cruises on the Atari forum and we would do mystery tours and mafia nights.... Ah, those were the days. I bought a G25 just to use with this game.

He actually streamed this game, few days after the Platinum mod has released. In that stream is that he raced a Trackhawk in a Challenger and that Jeep flew off.

When I tried this mod you could pretty much win against Chirons with a Miata, the A.I. would just crash everywhere
Then you probably srewed up the download, it happens with patches for win 10 I think, I didn't have such problems.
Hello, I've a problem installing cars in TDU1, cars are not appearing, they're transparent, and when I try to test drive them, the game crashes.
I installed magic map and it didn"t work.

I am having some major problems with this mod, when I start the game the house is a blank white void and if I don’t go into one of the menu options immediately it will crash every time, the next big thing is the map is nonexistant my car is floating over the sea, and when I try do enter anything it loads endlessly and will do nothing, what do I do to rremedy these issues

Truly a great game. Does the add on cars have interior camera? (FP?) that was the main reason i liked this game because the inteiors were very nicely detailed.

This is the type of guy that wouldn't have a clue what those cars are if they weren't named at the top of the screen
Try use the Skyline R33 with the tuning from Top Secret for Class D.
You'll be surprised how fast that car is.
I actually used that car to quickly beat Tour of the island, the car was so fast that the game itself glitched😂

There is no such thing as too many cars
Try out Corvette C4 Grand Sport! Beautiful car, with good handling and acceleration. And don't forget to tune it to second level. Because this particular level will make car fast, and still drivable and fun!
I wish that there were Callaway mods for the game for the Chevrolet C4 Corvette, most notably, the Sledgehammer, which is still a pretty damn fast car, even IF it was made in 1989. The street legal cars that can beat its speed can be counted on one hand, and everything else is for the drag strip.
That first car Dealer you visited... Its the same interious as the Trade in Dealer in Street Legal Racing Redline.

There's a similar car mod for TDU2 called "TDU2_Universal" or something, only problem is you need to use the "TDU2_Universal_Launcher" instead of the normal "TDU2_Launcher" otherwise any cars you buy turn into the pink car that one of the racers drive - there's alot of cars, but unsure if it as many as for this mod for TDU
The 4th gen Trans Am is ridiculous in this, it is also E class but can be upgraded to 576hp and 200mph and still be in E class

Listed top speed is usually way higher in the menus than the actual speed in-game, due to how tdu calculates top speed. And g class is the most... Interesting when it comes to balance (f40 is in that class... ) Other than that, there are some bugs here and there, some cars are not optimized (originally tdu was hardcapped at 1gb ram usage, 4gb patch with this mod only delays the inevitable), but overall it's still awesome mod, my overall progress is about 70%, got gold for most "standard" challanges, only a couple of them left (I didn't do any model/hitchikers).
Cars I used to gold non-car specific challanges:
F - mx-5 NA
E - audi s4 quattro b5
D - lotus esprit v8
C - alfa romeo giulia
B - ferrari 360 challange stradale
A - ferrari enzo
G - audi quattro sport
All max tuned except for enzo - 3rd package changes it to fxx, didn't switch to gemballa version either (which is available ^^), just sticked to 2nd package. For bike - mv agusta should do the trick both for mb and for ma.

I installed the platinum edition and I started the game for somehow the game already being in my profile and progress from the original version... and when I start playing the game the world is not rendering at all just the car and I can't move!!!

I remember this game fondly, twas my first real online experience as a kid. I also caused a whole leap of terrible stuff on the old forums by doing a load of shit, so in some ways im quite glad its mostly buried ^^
