What bothered me a lot is the physics. I get that the "D" cars are the low tier. But it supposedly stands for "daily drive". Which apparently the devs don't, they only drive supercars. You can't take the slightest turn (not a 180 curve, or even a 90 degree turn, but a very, very gentle curve) at more than 60-70 km/h (about 40 mph) without the car oversteering like you're driving on ice. Imagine the accidents we'd have every day if that's how they handled in real life.
@dangerranger3297 what u laughing at lmao. Fix ur settings. It looks just as good as it's competitors. Brakes are also more realistic than other games.
What a excellent review. Very honest and clear. The biggest differences for me between TDU 1 and 2, for example, is the police persuit. Because in the one, the chases are much more interesting exciting, as the police won't behave as terrorist, driving towards you like if they wanted to kill or explode your vehicle. They took more care on this aspect, which is maybe the more important on a racing game. The feeling of playing it is also special and unique. I won't feel the same way playing other racing games. I don't know how to explain it. This one has beautifull graphics and i even imagine playing a ''gta'' with this graphics, which are cool indeed. The map is something that will bother the ones who are fans of TDU 1 and 2, as the maps are huge!
But the original TDU was (after making all missions), just MMO Racing. And even more, MMO Free Roam. It was a Game to just drive with your mates. And we had like 20-30 people which in TDU 1 could play even 2-3 hours every day. And I think that Solar Crown is not aimed at Forza/NFS players, but at the OG Die Hard fans of TDU 1.
But this map is small. You just drive around empty city. And cities are not that fun to drive. By definition city roads are boring with mostly 90 degree corners and little to no change in elevation.
Nope. Same with xbox u need subscription to go online, only exception i know of are free to play games u can always play them online without any subscription
What's the most important to me when this game releases is the developers! Do they listen? WIll they try to improve things? Do they care about smaller userbases like Linux/SteamDeck? Except for beamng (although they have really rare updates) All the big games recently don't give a damn about what the players say, often not even when a big youtuber like goosist mentions a problem. I think what we really need is a game with a closer connection to the developers!
100% on point! I don't get why devs don't understand that car games don't have to be only about racing. There are so many activities that you can do with cars but they just keep wanting us to race against dumb AI and be happy. If there are no other activities like in the old TDU I'm not buying Solar Crown. I'm tired of racing against the same garbage AI and rammers online for decades. If I want that I will just play Forza Horizon again. Why is it so hard to make something like an old TDU or Project Gotham Racing?! Oh online only is another no no for me. I usually play games when my internet is down. I made that mistake with the new Forza Motorsport. My internet is down and I'm like "Let's play FM! oh wait...". JFC what is going on with the game industry?!
Goosiest , bob , samantha thats so true seeing number 1 brought back so many nostalgic memeories those were the best missions i feel they still got alot of work to do before release keep up the great work 👍
I was a gamer since 2005, I quit gaming in 2018 till now, but even in these days TDU2 still stuck in my mind, and I wished if they release a new season, I was surprised today about the new season of the game, very happy but now disappointed very disappointed.
You pointed out good points. Idk why but personally I think they need 1 more year to fix it. Just look at how long they took at last delay, but few work has been done.
11:40 I mean there's Driver San Francisco. Even though it is not available on Ubisoft, you can still download it. What I mean is last August I download DSF from a RUclips video. There's not really any type of viruses contained because those videos are YEARS old. Some of them doesn't have the link for the game because it is so old. The graphics are great nice touch to the drifting and the drift smoke, BUTT, The Storyline, Damn, I never enjoyed a game before in my entire life. You should try this one out and probably recommend this to others as well.
It's like every developer forgot that what we want from car games is to be able to enjoy the lifestyle like we did in TDU2, all they had to do was take that concept and expand upon it. Yet they happily ignore us.
I would love if they added cop cars like chasing you or special races in which you were a cop car and you had to chase other players that would be fun as hell
I know tdu is cleaner in its ideas of cars, but some customizations would be nice. A good example would be the ordering option you have when you buy a brand new car. Still clean and purist but more personalization than now. At least allowing us to remove big racing aero wings if we don't want them on certain cars.
Wheel Support on the G923 is the worst in tdu solar crown If you have vibrations on in the settings the wheels Always vibrates and makes the Same Sound as the Car your driving so basically you will think that a speaker is in your wheel
I will forever lament the lack of cops in modern racing games, outside of NFS. Dunno if anyone else enjoyed cops in older TDU games, but that was always one of my favorite parts.
I was so excited for this game but now I don’t think that I will buy it. TDU and TDU 2 had this vibe of being this millionaire with all this music houses clothing stores and I loved that all cars had different ui speed and rpm gauges. From what I’ve seen so far this game is more like new nfs games, just another boring racing game.
All points you've made are very accurate, and the fact that the steering wheel doesn't turn as much as your actual steering wheel, was the reason I couldn't play the Crew 2. And how in a game from 2024 ABOUT CARS, there are no working mirrors?! I hope they'll fix this. One thing I know for sure, I wouldn't be buying this game until it's on massive sale and that's because it's another game where you spend full amount of money to have limited playability? You can't play if your internet is out? That's total bs. TDU is dead for me.
4:15 Streets recruiter is easy. Sharps recruiter is harder because again: The course is tighter, so I, as a non-drifter, struggled. It would be good if there's a difficulty slider on top of dynamic difficulty like F1 and MotoGP series do.
My Logitech G920 for me just doesn’t work with it. It steers, but no matter how much I change the force feedback settings it just doesn’t respond at all and is at full force all the time. So annoying!
I literally played TDU 1 & 2 OFFLINE . I was a kid so it didn’t matter it was Offline . As an adult I would play online more but having OFFLINE as an option is top tier
Play Forza Horizon Five and tune the 1974 Holden Sandman HQ Panel Van. You need a drift tuning with drift tires and a drift suspension and so on. My Holden has 1.750 Horsepower now and a top speed of 324,8 Kilometres per hour. It drifts so good, you can do high-speed drifting too!
For me graphics are not about texture or shadows quality. It should feel authentic and cohesive. For example authentic: full steering angle, pedestrains. Cohesive: th game world should be unity, every thing like road, car, a bush and a building should be one. I mean in some games (kinda in TDUSC too) you see every object in the world is disconnected from eachother, they're separate objects rather than contributing for one game world.
Personnally I despise the new Hong Kong Map! Main complaint is that it does not load (Might just be an optimisation issue). I'll be flooring it in my shitty Lancia Delta and will get stuck in a non rendered section of road (Meanwhile the AI flies by like nothing is happening) Second complaint is that the map is tiny and basically has two biomes. Once you've been down one road, you've basically seen all of them. You have deserted Asian city, and then you have tiny narrow hill side roads (Which seem to attract every AI on the map when you are trying to cruise[Or god forbid you're attempting a speed trap]) For some reason the AI stops when you get too close... I found that the traffic in the oncoming lane will come to a complete stop, and traffic ahead of you in your lane will stutter until you rear end them. Your point at the end of the video couldn't be more true. Game companies will continue to deliver hot garbage because they know that we are desperate to play anything new these days. As long as companies are allowed to delist old games, they will continue to put in less and less effort into making good products. Gaming has been a whole lotta mid for the last decade, and it's only getting worse...
1:07 Dude, if you want a story, that means that you have never played original TDU. Play it once. It is better than second part, many people dislike it just for dark colours of grafics
The cockpit camera itself looks really good imo as far as FOV, height and lighting (when you are outside, not in the showroom or garage). They've just got to fix the wheel-turn animations.
they let you test drive, so in theory you can test any car. they could add more gameplay like how gta do like ie buy a nightclub. hope the drifting gets fixed can’t wait to spin round the city on my g290

The game is just disappointing
They didn’t have the full features from old tdu games
Bad physics
Bad tire smoke
No Offline mode
Goosiest:It has demo
Also Goosiest:Shows The Crew Motorfest demo
I have a feeling this game is going to be a massive flop
Thats what everyone says about every game today
man, I sit here, and watch this so attentively when I know my PC cannot handle a single roblox game on above 6 graphics, btw, W vid
its so bad. the graphics, the handling of the cars. i really hope it gets better. the brakes hardly work lol
The graphics are good fix ur settings
@@Kortex_Racing lmao
It's a big problem because most of developers not even played the 1st version of this game, it's all about money and nothing else matters
Needs lots of work, until its good the OG TDU with Platinum mod lives rent free on my SD :)
Another destroyed franchise ... What a time to be alive...
Sadly, there's no game matching Midnight Club Remix 3's level nowadays.
By definition city roads are boring with mostly 90 degree corners and little to no change in elevation.
i absolutely agree with you man, they need to fix these before launch....................
The thing I am worried about most about the Always Online thing is for PS5, if I do not have PS+ will I even be able to play the game?
Good question, no idea
Yes crew 2 is also always online and you can play it without ps plus until you want to play with friends
Nope. Same with xbox u need subscription to go online, only exception i know of are free to play games u can always play them online without any subscription
@@dennisraeimakers5218 no online without friends is free omce you want to play woth friends invite them etc you need ps plus
tbh because then the game won’t get any sales
im still stuck on this " fuhzorazu 5 " i slowed down the video btw
Goose is cooking today
He's always cooking 😂
What's the most important to me when this game releases
is the developers! Do they listen? WIll they try to improve things?
Do they care about smaller userbases like Linux/SteamDeck?
Except for beamng (although they have really rare updates) All the big games recently don't give a damn about what the players say,
often not even when a big youtuber like goosist mentions a problem.
I think what we really need is a game with a closer connection to the developers!
beam updates their game more than most triple a racing games what are you yapping about
i find it crazy how 7/10 of these issues are already solved in night runners. and that game is also just a demo
Day 9 of asking goose to play gran turismo 7, I really want to see goose playing it. I'm ready to comment till he gets ps console
There’s also another racing game that’s open world but it’s like fighting open world car game it’s called mad max
No offline is bs! Especially after what they did to the crew!! When they did that I was like yeah you never see money from me again!! Shame
0:36 we will get this when (and if) CarX Street gets released for PC
Goosiest , bob , samantha thats so true seeing number 1 brought back so many nostalgic memeories those were the best missions i feel they still got alot of work to do before release keep up the great work 👍
It's nice that you can test drive cars in Test Drive Unlimited
Most of the time i prefer Goose to know good or bad thing in games 😊
I was a gamer since 2005, I quit gaming in 2018 till now, but even in these days TDU2 still stuck in my mind,
and I wished if they release a new season,
I was surprised today about the new season of the game,
very happy but now disappointed very disappointed.
No offline mode and no houses, that is a pass for me
Even in TDU 1 you could turn a Mustang into a Saleen (in a running shop), which gave you a bodykit, so it WAS altering the looks of it.
You pointed out good points. Idk why but personally I think they need 1 more year to fix it. Just look at how long they took at last delay, but few work has been done.
in terms of pedestrians , Midnight club L.A. was good
11:40 I mean there's Driver San Francisco.
Yea Driver San Francisco is gold
It's like every developer forgot that what we want from car games is to be able to enjoy the lifestyle like we did in TDU2, all they had to do was take that concept and expand upon it. Yet they happily ignore us.
First Critique for TDU Solar Crown
Have a feeling this game gonna be a flop overall especially with Motorfest gaining an entirely new island update in November.
I can't wait for full release to see what they have in store for us
I would love if they added cop cars like chasing you or special races in which you were a cop car and you had to chase other players that would be fun as hell
I was going to preorder this game till the no offline. That aspect of this game scares me
tdu1 and tdu2 has the actual car's tachometer on every car you drive, they dont even have this here...
I will forever lament the lack of cops in modern racing games, outside of NFS. Dunno if anyone else enjoyed cops in older TDU games, but that was always one of my favorite parts.
online only is a deal breaker.
It would be awesome If we can park the car, get out and walk around and explore the beautiful city and stress.
Man finally you’re back to drifting…
And don’t worry I’ve got ketchup and goose seeds…
And by the way…
Do you need goose bones..?
My Logitech G920 for me just doesn’t work with it. It steers, but no matter how much I change the force feedback settings it just doesn’t respond at all and is at full force all the time. So annoying!
no road exploration the old tdu just felt bigger aswell anyway you are correct , good video.
Tune it by yourself or go into Forza Horizon 5 then take the Sandman and search for the tuning from HowlingPlayer43.
6:52 that is honestly true, I downloaded hotwheels micro racers and my thrust master literally worked for that game, it was awesome
Other than there's no offline mode i am still surprised of what this new team was capable of since most of devs never worked on a tdu game before
Personnally I despise the new Hong Kong Map!
This video made me wanna play the crew motorfest more than tdu sc
NFS physics + Forza game building = not formula that the enthusiasts were looking for
8:52 forza horizon 4 and 3 had a demo even now you can play fzh 4 demo
1:07 Dude, if you want a story, that means that you have never played original TDU. Play it once. It is better than second part, many people dislike it just for dark colours of grafics
The cockpit camera itself looks really good imo as far as FOV, height and lighting (when you are outside, not in the showroom or garage). They've just got to fix the wheel-turn animations.
So g29 will work if i use it on my ps?
bro nfs carbon's last literally made me cry after losing for the 6.9 time
they let you test drive, so in theory you can test any car. they could add more gameplay like how gta do like ie buy a nightclub. hope the drifting gets fixed can’t wait to spin round the city on my g290
I like that they added blinkers, try them out
No 200 km race? Truly Test Drive Limited
In case you didn’t know, you can also test drive cars in The Crew Motorfest for about the same time as Solar Crown.
Yea Crew has some nice features, Crew 2 had pedestrians as well which I loved
