Coolest thing about Arissa Trew is she went on to win gold in park the next day--the first woman to win two gold medals in skateboarding in x games history.
Tony Hawk was not only the first to do the 900 (in 1999), he was first to do the 720...in 1985. For the longest time, he was the only one who could do the 720.
Yeah, people don't realize how much better skateboards are now. Kid recently landed a 1080, but I bet he'd have trouble with a 720 on a board from the 80s.
@@lumberjackallen I’m pretty sure skateboarding is like an open invitation kind of thing. It’s not like other sports where there is a benefit from puberty, like growth spurts and muscle growth. Similar to chess, video games, as long as you got the goods and parent’s permission, you can go pro young.
This is a really great series! Please keep doing it. It's probably so cool for those athletes to be on these highlights, especially the kids. Great work Jimmy!
Slamball has been a fun return. The first week it seemed a lot of players were still figuring out the rules. The second week has been running a lot smoother. Good to see near-capacity crowds in there too
Joe Dirt's brother A is fan of the week. That man drives a t-top Trans Am that has a Free Bird cassette stuck in the stereo and has been divorced at least 4 times. What a king
Ya know a few eps ago I was gonna ask if Jimmy could do some x-treme sports breakdowns, but I thought nah that'll never happen... and here we are. You read my mind
Not the only heart breaker for South Africa. They’ve never won a women’s world cup game. Their next game was against Argentina. They had a 2-0 lead into the 75th minute, but it was 2-2 by the 80th.
FOTW: D. He's got moves and they're absolutely perfect for getting under the other team's skin. Admittedly, don't know if that was the reason for the dance, but still. It'd be cool if it was. Honorable mention goes to A. His mullet game is out of this world; it's like the distilled essence of the audience of arena football.
I'm not very familiar with baseball so apologies if this is too basic of a question but in that first clip where the pitcher caught the bunt, why did he need to throw it to first base? Didn't he catch it before the bunt hit the ground? If so, doesn't that count as 'out'?
2:50 In this version of slamball, you have to get your helmet back on your head to continue playing. If it comes off during a play, while in possession or defending the man in possession, you can continue, but as soon as that is complete you cannot impact the game in any way until you get your helmet back.
Yeah if you're promoting a product that also needs a big warning label that's a pretty scummy thing to do. Gambling is up there with drug addiction, a warning label isn't sufficient. "Here's some heroin, but also watch out, mate, heroin is bad for you!"
@@CRneu Would it be similarly scummy to promote alcohol with a warning to "drink responsibly"? Vices are not inherently bad for you. There is such a thing as fun, ethical gambling.
@@Justin-np3ki yep, it ruined my cards, it was impossible to sit on, the elastic stretches out and trying to get a specific card out was a nightmare usually resulting in all of my cards ending up on the ground.
Wtf 13 and 10?! THIRTEEN AND TEN?! When I was 13 and 10 I was bouncing a super ball so hard and looking straight down at it that it came up and took of a section of my top lip
0:46 *Never in female competition before* still gnarly nonetheless & stoked for her, but just clarifying many 720s have been done at Xgames haha\ She also won the park event the next day. Another 1st
I'd imagine that's heavily implied when he said tony hawk hit the first 900, but I can tell you're a fan of the sport so I appreciate the update nonetheless!
Thanks for the clarification, I was hoping somebody would explain that because to someone who doesn't watch the X-Games it wasn't very clear... My guess was first 720 in the kids, but I guess that isn't a thing and these kids are just incredibly good?
Aint it crazy that a girl finally does that while boys younger than her have been doing it for years, but they want to tell you there's no difference between boys and girls....
Coolest thing about Arissa Trew is she went on to win gold in park the next day--the first woman to win two gold medals in skateboarding in x games history.
There is no diginity in a slamball argument. Trying to show how mad and tough you are as you gently bounce up and down.
all saying 'weeeee' under your breath so the homies dont find out.
You can only swing on each other while mid-air

In addition there's better ramps, but most importantly instruction and opportunity is cheaper and more accessible.
Also, he was an adult competing against adults. Now it's all kids because being infinitely skilled is no match for lack of muscle and boobs.
Man said 10 and 13 year old pro skaters... What am I doing with my life
😂 I’m 42 getting excited for them dont trip

Used to ride dirt bikes where Gwinnett’s stadium is. It was more fun back then
the small roll of the baseball in the first clip was so baller
I got a 'double' once as a kid with a bunt like that. The pitcher dropped it though, and then made a throwing error to first.

3:02 Is it just me, or did those overhead cameras make it look like the bases were about 17 feet apart?
This is why I come to this channel to learn very important political topics such as "Sweden thinks apartheid is bad".
