    Hi Andreas,
    I have been following your RUclips channel since beginning of 2023 and with the help your videos I successfully completed driving license back in March 2023. You are one of the best driving instructor I ever seen, the way you explain in every class and exam of videos in English, it is quite impressive and I really like the way you teach :) I would recommend you if someone really wants to learn and complete driving in an organized way. I wish you more success and healthy life ahead. Many greetings from Bad Soden!

    @GermanDrivingSchool Thanks to you and your videos, I got my driver's license on my first try today. My driving school instructor was really bad, he didn't say anything without asking during the lessons. By applying what you explained in the practical lessons, I was able to pass without any difficulty. Moreover, my exam location was Berlin-Neukoln, where chaos was always present. You rock!!
    (If you had a branch in a place like Berlin, we probably wouldn't be able to enter because of the long queue. Berlin especially needs someone like you. Maybe you can consider it for future plans.)

    Hi Andy, thanks for a very useful video. I have some questions-
    1- when you have the sign and signals together, signal takes priority. Here at 12.06 the sign and the signal are so close that I thought as long as the signal is working, the sign does not matter. However you said that the person should have stopped at the stop sign. How does one know when a sign is not part of the traffic signal? This one looked too close to the signal and I think I would have not stopped.
    Just watched further at 30.46. - same situation green signal with stop sign, but the signal is green and we do not look at the sign and don’t stop.
    Seems contradictory.
    Ok, I finished the video now and I think it has got to do with the solid white line with the stop sign in the first case. But not sure.
    2- At 28:35 - the solid yellow lines are over and the person is driving in the left of the two lanes. Your advice is to drive on the right of the two lanes whenever possible, would changing here to right not be a natural instinct for a learner driver?
    3- How does one know when to merge and when not to merge in the highway. Will the instructor tell that?

    • @GermanDrivingSchool
      @GermanDrivingSchool  11 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you for your comment ❤
      At 12:06 the lights are just regulating the pedestrians. On the left side is a primary school. They prefer placing lights instead of zebra crossing. You can recognize that easily: at the lights you have the stop line. Then you have the pedestrian lines and directly behind that you have the other stop line for oncoming traffic. That's all for the lights. And the stop sign is regulating the intersection. By the way: after the left turn from the stop sign you have another traffic light for pedestrians.
      At 30:46 you have the lights regulating the intersection. No stopping while green light as you already mentioned 😊.
      At 28:35 (end of yellow solid line) the white lines are valid. But the dashed white line is broad (double sized). That means that the right lane will end or that it goes somewhere else. In this case the right lane is an acceleration and integration lane. Check out the last yellow line. It ends on a white line. That's the best time to compare the size of yellow and white line in this situation. Probably it is not very well visible in the video. But if you drive on the roads you will easily find out what's a normal (slim) line and what's a broad (double size) line.
      Edit:
      I forgot number 3 of your questions:
      Generally you integrate on highway: "Bitte fahren Sie auf die Autobahn Richtung xxx"
      In this case examiner told the student: please do not enter the higway. Please stay here and leave the higway from this lane.
      ❤☮️

      The signal over sign priority applies only when the sign is directly above the signal. At 12:06 the STOP sign is at 20m from the signal. Treat the STOP sign normally as how you would treat it in this case.

    Hi Andy, one more question though unrelated to the video. What are the costs of switching driving schools in Germany? I imagine the old school will give in writing the number of training hours completed and the new school will need some more to prepare you for the test. Assuming theory exam is passed and practical is not booked, what are the “additional” charges in switching schools. I would guess registering at the new school would be one but cannot think of any other costs/disadvantages of switching. What are your views? Not a direct driving practice related question but I hope you can answer :)

    I have one question. In the case of doppellinks especially when exiting the highway, lets imagine that we are on the rightmost lane and 2 lanes turning left into a 4 lane road. My instructor told me to switch to the rightmost lane when turning left (meaning I wont follow my lane and actually do a lane switch)
    And if I were on the left lane instructor told me I should switch to one lane to the right when turning left. Is this true?

      It depends on the location, the traffic during the exam and the examiner. But exam time (55 minutes) is not the same like the driving time. Included in the 55 minutes is also talking before driving (ID check, payment check of the fees, introducing each other, getting the seat and mirrors ready, 3 questions about the car (lights, fluids, wheels,...)) and talking after driving (feedback, result, handout of license,...). That´s what makes the driving time NOT to 55 minutes ❤☮

    First of all, thans alot for the videos, I am taking practical driving classes and these video helps a ton in overcoming the anxiety.
    I have one very important question regarding speed which is always bugging me.
    At 3:41, you said the speed is again 50 as their is no sign of speed stating otherwise.
    My understanding is, this rule only exist after roundaboouts when you see no speed sign and not apply to the normal roads like in this case until it is basically 30 Zone and at the end of the street before your turn, you see 30 Zone cancellation sign, and when after turning you see no speed sign, your speed is default 50 inside city.
    Please explain this as this rule always cause me to confuse and my instructor doesnt speek English so may be he is unable to clear up this in good way.

    • @GermanDrivingSchool
      @GermanDrivingSchool  4 месяца назад

      At 2:05 you see the last 30 sign (not a zone). And speed signs like this become invalid after leaving this street (turning left or right). In this case we turn left and after our turn there is no other 30 sign. Now you just need the basic knowledge that the speed limit in the city is 50 and you are on a good way 😊

      Sometimes I felt like that but then I passed on first try (not in Germany but our laws seem to be almost identical, and boy are there a LOT of stupid little rules in our exams too, like oh no someone is speeding and I slowed them down to legal speeds, i slowed them down = fail).
      You can do it!

      What were your failing points and why do you feet treated unfair? Since I am teaching (2003, yes, i am not young anymore) I never (NEVER) had an failed exam that was not a failed exam. Why? Because there are clear rules that an examiner has to follow and the instructor should know the rules as well. But I had some exams where the studend passed but had an failing point the examiner didn´t see or decided (as a human) to give the license to the student. So again: Why did you fail? ❤☮
