Just bought these from CJ, minus the black pony on the decklid panal (went with your black gt emblem instead) Just waiting for my 19 GT PP1 car to arrive next week.
You can easily remove the front pony badge with a couple of pick tools. Use a 90 degree metal pick and pull the tail of the pony up. Leave that pick in place and slide another pick in, and pop it right off!
For all you performance pack guys out there that are met with the oversized heat exchanger and cannot fit your arm through, this is the way. Was very careful and came away without scratches! Thank you!
If you have the performance pack there are radiators in the way making it almost impossible to reach the back of the horse on the grill. I was able to stick my pinky through the grill holes and snap that one off of the car. After that I simply used a plastic pry tool to lift the emblem off from tail to head. Bore out the guide holes if needed, clean and install. You will save many many hours this way as long as you or someone you know can get to that tab with their pinky as opposed to removing anything else unnecesarily.
the car is looking great! If I had to guess for upcoming mods to come I'd say 4th brakelight + interior LEDs, new splitter, new shifter, black out hood vents whenever those are available, and lowering springs.
You can't access the studs very much at all with an automatic car due to the transmission cooler in between the radiator and condenser. Doesn't leave enough room unless you have sticks for arms.
@@giovanytrejo6706 i just moved the radiator as far back as i could and jammed my arm down in there. Then i used a tiny socket to press the clips onto the plastic studs
Hi Bill. I have a 2018 GT (Australian) and I want to replace the front horse emblem. There are 3 radiators there so no room for an arm to fit down to break off the tabs. Do you know if I can get access by pulling off the belly pan.
Nice video as always bill i have a 2017 ford mustang gt 5.0 and i have the triple yellow color and the silver badges look hideous on it i'm definitely going with the black one's :) thanks for your time bill your the best !!!!
Can you show how to install these on a EcoBoost or a v6? I’ve seen badges for the other respective models but I’m not sure how far is the emblem suppose to be from the door
I was able to break off two just by sticking my pinky through the holes in the grille. I got skinny fingers though. Also, base 2018 automatic has both an extra radiator and some vents that make getting your hand in there impossible.
Eh.. I did the rear GT removal but popping/prying it off like you did in the video on my 16 mustang a while ago and it leaves small plastic pieces trapped in the trunk lid that rattle around.
Rene Garcia they are trapped in there no way to get out unless you pull the entire panel off. Which, in that case if I had to do it all over again I would’ve pulled the panel off first and then taken the emblem off the right way.
Silver Stang damm I bought gloss black plastic dip but no way with it match the gloss 5.0 badges so idk how I’m I ganna the the rear gt? I don’t wanna remove the whole panel but I don’t wanna hear some rattle either lol
God dammit guys!! I had to change the front emblem on an 18 and had no idea about that trick!! I took off the whole damn bumper lmao... Next time I have to do something like that i'm gunna check you guys or AM out! Good stuff 👌
Hey guys probably just an Aussie thing but you undo those radiator bolts and no way you are getting an arm in there as there is another radiator in front of the engine radiator - I have small arms and couldnt even reach one pin - I suspect its an A/C radiator (as mines a manual 2019). The front way is silly as you can never get the retaining nuts onto the back. Easiest way is just jack up car, remove belly pan/drip pan from under car and put your arm up from underneath - there is heaps of room and you get all the retaining nuts on.
On the 2021 the radiator is too large to push back, still not enough room. Also the tabs on the back have an additional plastic locking piece on the back which makes it impossible to do it like this. I would and I know many more would appreciate a updated one for a 2021+ model. At this point I’m just going to take off the bumper because I’ve tried everything. :(
If we can get access to a vehicle we can try and add an updated video. We do have a video on the bumper removal for 2018-2023 and its not hard at all to do so that may be the way.
Bought this kit and absolutely can not reach the tabs on the front grill emblem for 2018 GT auto due to the baffles in between the front grill and radiator. No idea how to proceed without attempting to remove it from the front by prying

The grille method definitely doesn’t work. The shutters are in the way even after you push the radiator back and trying to pry it off with a plastic pry tool just snaps the pry tool.
I tried removing the pony emblem for my ecoboost and theres this piece in the way that looks like its holding the grill together, i couldnt even reach the pony emblem.
I was able to hold my radiator back while my wife stuck her arm down there to break the tabs off. Very tight with the pp1 pack for sure but the tabs break really easy.

i do not believe this is possible on a 2022 model without snapping the plastic radiator. the air box stops the driver side of the rad from moving more than an inch. on the 2022 with about 40 lbs of force pushing back on the rad, there is a 2 inch gap beteen the oil cooler and the plastic air shroud. not gonna happen. if you have a 2022 dont bither buying emblems from these guys, they claim they will fit, im sure they will if you can manage to get the original one out of the grill
I like the way the chrome emblems pop, especially the front and rear. The black ones, in my opinion, blend in too much and make the space have an unfinished look. I’m just going to sit back, let everyone else modify their mustang, then mine will be unique. If you look back at any make and model car, the original always looks better in the future. However, it’s easier just to tell someone their car looks great with all of the work they’ve done - it’s kind of like telling someone with excessive plastic surgery that they look like shit.
Lighter saves gas. My Subaru fender I can bend by hand. I hand bent a Toyota fender back into shape after a wreck. Modern cars are not 18gauge metal like 1960's. It's not a secret.
Rather keep the GT in the back...but black.
facts
I would want a black GT badge...
Amazing how an emblem kit makes such a huge difference. I have gloss black to put on mine!

Mine’s a manual and has that too :/ just had to pry it off
Having trouble with this rn actually. The front is taking way longer than it should

Hmm, i wonder why they don't make emblem covers that stick right onto the exiting emblems? I got some for my 4runner, super easy install and look sick
The black emblems look good!

I cant get my front pony off because of the active radiator shutters. Is there a way around this without having to remove the entire bumper?
Absolutely love the black 5.0 badge.
What temperature should I use the heat gun on and how long should i heat it up for?

Did the 5.0 badges today gonna do horse and GT tomorrow. I didn't get the old glue off though hopefully it stays good. Looks great 👍
Did it end up staying despite not removing the glue?
@@David-fl4xw yes surprisingly
People in Thailand buy Mustang Ecoboost and make it look like GT
People in USA buy Mustang GT and make it look like Ecoboost
Because people steal cars here in the US🙃

What happened to the black rear GT emblem for 15-17 instead of the Pony?
Bill and all can you possibly drill the original with say a uni bit where the pins are then break pins?
I was able to break off two just by sticking my pinky through the holes in the grille. I got skinny fingers though. Also, base 2018 automatic has both an extra radiator and some vents that make getting your hand in there impossible.
How small of fingers do you have. Even my wife who is 120lbs couldn’t do it. How do you wiggle a tab with just a pinky??
How u push the emblem so easy off ?
Can this be done on an ecoboost? I know on previous model you had to take off the bumper
Won’t the plastic pieces rattle around in the trunk?
I never had any issues with my other car, the first few times you open your truck possibly but I never really noticed.
Eh.. I did the rear GT removal but popping/prying it off like you did in the video on my 16 mustang a while ago and it leaves small plastic pieces trapped in the trunk lid that rattle around.
Silver Stang did you do anything to take the pieces out? Or do you just deal with the rattle?
Rene Garcia they are trapped in there no way to get out unless you pull the entire panel off. Which, in that case if I had to do it all over again I would’ve pulled the panel off first and then taken the emblem off the right way.

Rene Garcia you won’t hear t rattle from inside the car. Every time you go to open the trunk you’ll hear the pieces rattle around.
Silver Stang ohhhhh I don’t really even use my trunk all that much lol foreal you don’t hear it inside the car?
You make taking off the pony emblem so easy it’s not even like that.
thank s but for model 2017 European ??
for rear ? ... it s the same ? or no
God dammit guys!! I had to change the front emblem on an 18 and had no idea about that trick!! I took off the whole damn bumper lmao... Next time I have to do something like that i'm gunna check you guys or AM out! Good stuff 👌
On my mustang, if I wanted to keep the same emblem without breaking it, would I have to take off the bumper?
No just the tail light panel.

Would this be easier to do with the trunk lid closed?

@@BGNTZPaul great tip I’m
Gonna try that before doing anything else on my PP1
Couldn't fit my arm down there, had to bust off the pony from the front.
I have a 2022 GT premium and there was no way to get to the pony emblem to pop the tabs, we had to just pry it off the front
how did you do it?
I need black gt badge. How to buy. Please let me the price
Doesn’t work for 2018+ GT level 2 performance package. Comes with a larger radiator. Guess I’m removing the whole bumper at some point.

did anyone have to drill out the little pegs stuck in the back panel?
Usually you can just tap them out, I never had any that I had to drill.
Whats with the 10 minute guitar solo?
It’s the same song The Hydraulic Press Channel uses, threw me for a loop hahaha

I noticed that lol.. i just pulled it off from the front.. went fine
Yeppppp just tried this with no luck. Guess the whole bumper has to come off whenever I get the confidence to try it
I feel the studs but can’t beak em off
Cool. Do they have the emblems in gold?
Just factory colors.
Yakntoro Udoumoh You can paint them.
Weird. My 2017 gt has the same trunk lines as the 18 models.

I am not 100% sure yet but I plan on a power adder.
Does not work with 2020 PP1 car.
Wait, really? Why not? I have a 2020 PP1 and was going to buy this set.
