    It’s so cool seeing what was in your bag. You seemed to fit everything you needed so well in that lil pack! Enjoyed watching your CT and PCT videos and just wanna say it was nice meeting you on the trail. If you ever decide to do the AZT let me know so I can help with water and meet up with you 👍🏼

      Thanks, brother! It was awesome meeting you and look forward to checking out your videos soon as well. I’ll definitely hit you up if I make my way to the AZT.

    Good gear. What month were you on the CT? I’ll be there in August of ‘23 and I’m wondering if I can go as minimal on clothes as you did.

      Thanks, John. I started on August 9th and ended on September 7th. I was happy with my gear and clothing choice, despite facing more rain than usual for that time of year....15 days with rain during my hike.

    Great video! Did you take a small change of clothes? If you wash one, are you wearing another? I'm thinking on trail or in town.

    Great information.

    The flow-rate issue you mentioned is why I have stuck with the Sawyer Squeeze so far. I have been tempted, though...

    Thanks for the video. The lighterpack link is for a list called AZT now. No big deal. What month did you do the CT? Helpful to know for temperature/precipitation. Thanks!

      You're very welcome. I started on August 9th and ended September 7th.....but from what I understand, 2022 had some late monsoonal activity and August isn't typically as rainy as it was that year.

      Thanks, Crow. Much appreciated. I’m constantly tweaking and refining my gear….but I’m (finally) at the point where not much else needs attention! I just subscribed to your channel as well and look forward to digging into your content…..looks like you have knocked out a few things that are on my list!

    How do you like Pa’lante vs Waymark packs?

    • @CharmingGecko
      @CharmingGecko 2 года назад +2

      I don’t know what he thinks, but I have an Evlv and an Ultra V2. The Palante is just a much better pack IMO.

    • @JayFAdventures
      @JayFAdventures  2 года назад

      I completely agree. I used the EVLV for about 1,000 miles of my PCT hike last year….liked it a lot…..but I find the V2 far superior!!

      For a small-volume pack….I find my Pa’Lante more comfortable and functional (pocket placement,etc) than my Waymark EVLV. if I went much heavier, though, I’d use my Thru since it has a comfortable hip belt.

    Is there a service contract needed for the InReach?

    • @JayFAdventures
      @JayFAdventures  2 года назад +1

      Sure is, Kris….Garmin has different plans to suit the needs of the individual. You can check them out here: www.garmin.com/en-US/p/837461 You’ll have to click around under the “Subscription” and “Plan Type” areas to see the details.
