I think it really speaks to how great World's spin on the formula is that pretty much EVERYONE has their own "I got chased halfway across the map by Anjanath before I was ready to fight him" story and it's not a scripted scenario.
After getting weapon Anjanath was my first hunt sure it was expedition but boi everything was a breeze until bezel then later on with stun resist and hp everything is pretty easy until alatreon then after Alatreon game is kinda done v.v you only have fatalis and arch tempered but it's hardly any challenge anymore much less if you cheesed fatty and got fatty set before fatty clear.

I just wanted to farm a bit more pukei materials before tracking down the rathian but noooo, bazel decided to strike as soon as we both were on that tiny platform at the north end of the map (near the poisoncups). If I wasn't using glaive I surely would have been sent straight back to camp
Iirc Rathalos is actually semi-scripted to always go to area 10 very soon after the Anja cutscene ends, and Anja is also much more likely to actually go there in the assignment. Still really badass, watching the monster that's been terrorising you the past 5 hours get effortlessly shitstomped and getting the sinking realisation that it only gets much harder from here.
@@captainsoldier774 Yeah. I recently reset my save file and with the new amazing armor and defender tree, I can finally have a chance to defeat it before he comes up as an assigned quest. I've actually already killed like 4 of them so I can get the Anjanath tree and get a fire hammer, but I had to hunt a Barroth to get the tree in between the bone and Anja tree. I feel like this comment is way too long, but yeah. Legiana and Anjanath just but into the fights. However, Bazelgeuse and Deviljho are even worse and I've only killed 1 Deviljho (not on my account). This is already way too long, so I'll stop ranting.

I'm pretty new to the series, just picked up world and probably gonna get rise when it comes to pc, but damn man, i think im already a fan just after fighting Anjanath, I've loved the dmc games along with plenty other capcom action-y games for years, really surprised I slept on this one for so long
@@Tetrasune World, being capcom’s most successful game to date, still gets played a ton. In fact, it has a nearly equal player count with rise (at least on pc via data from steamcharts). It’s no surprise new people are still first experiencing my favorite game of all time. :)

I played through the entirety of World with a friend of mine. I remember us just absolutely shitstomping this Great Jagras because we needed materials, when an Anjanath rolls up out nowhere and rocked our shit. An intense rivalry with Anjanath started that day.

I was scared of anjanath until his mission in world, he might not be much of a threat, but he is terrifying to encounter randomly on an expedition, in fight or flight against a fire breathing T-Rex, flight was what took over
MHW is my third Monster Hunter, after Rise (my first) and Generations Ultimate (though I never finished that one). I already knew how to handle Anjanath, so when I started I tried to see if I could hunt it before I was technically supposed to. I cannot properly describe the moment that I bonked him and this music started playing as he roared at me. It was incredible. It took a long time to take him down, and there were a lot of close calls, but every moment was fantastic.
I had a dream last night I was being hunted down by an Anjanath through my neighborhood. I kept trying to hide in houses and it kept bulldozing through them. And this theme was blasting the whole dream.
This and the deviljho theme are those songs that play when you are being chased across the map by a angry dinosaur,i have fear of salvage deviljho to this day due to all the times he chased me while i was exploring.

Mu "Anjanath moment" wasn't one charging in while I was fighting something else, but instead me thinking I was ready to fight one during an expedition (I wasn't)
So freaking awesome. This was my first MH game. I tried getting into the series with MH on Wii U, but I just didn’t understand how things worked so I stopped. This theme honestly got me hyped up to take on Anjanath. Like, this was a ferocious beast, I’m still a baby on the battlefield, but I’m taking him down!!
Unpopular opinion but one of the best if not the best soundtrack for me, somehow, it's very nostalgic to a series that I was kinda familiar with but never got the chance to play though now that I have played World, this is my favorite track ever in the series.

So, fun thing. In Base World, once you got access to expeditions, you could start fighting Anjanaths. Granted, it’s a lot tougher without strong gear and armor, but if you were good enough, aggressive and wise with your attacks, you could farm them as early as HR 1-2. WAAAAAAY before you’re supposed to have his gear. Having his weapons THAT early was like toting a nuclear weapon on your back. Just about every starting monster that early is either weak to fire, or not about to enjoy that uber-powerful raw damage the Anjy weapons could dish out (yes there was negative affinity, but it didn’t dent your damage THAT much). So yeah. The big ole pinky-stinky has my eternal gratitude, AND has a soft spot in my heart for helping me break the early game open like a dinosaur crunching a coconut. 😑👍
Am I the only one who doesn't like this theme that much? It's not terrible, but it's easily the worst locale theme tied with the Elder's Recess theme to me
