I personally dont like the 3 game wild card format as it makes it less intense but twins vs Houston was a nice series, Braves vs Phillies while disappointing for the best team in the reg season still had some amazing highlights with some good tension, and the Alds and Nlds are where your bigger moments should and probably will happen.
It's more like this whole postseason has inexorably led to the fantastic LCS in both leagues. Teams destroying other teams at their home parks. Teams advancing until they meet a team they can't get past. And, the first WS in 7 years without any Astros or Dodgers!!!
Every winning team dominated every losing team in the Wildcard & Division Series. This playoffs sucked watching until the League Championship Series finally being close.
As a Rangers fan, I'm still in disbelief that this happened. The Rangers took down the Goliath of MLB for the past 6 years on their own turf and they did it in absolutely commanding fashion. Regardless of what happens after this, I couldn't be more proud of this team. If they wind up winning it all, then all the better.

Also the catcher looked like he knew he didn't need to catch the ball as if it wasn't intended for him. Stop saying a HBP was intentional without evidence (e.g. the pitcher ending his stride directly at the batter). HBPs have been up for years now because it's the era of relief pitchers throwing hard and hoping it gets close to the mark. Yall give new observers and casual fans the impression that pitchers are always trying to throw at batters when the league has been cracking down hard on all of that. It's really frustrating to hear Jake say Abreu "threw 3 straight strikes" after hitting Garver without mentioning that the next batter was a Lefty, Abreu threw only sliders, and only one was a called strike. Abreu couldn't land any of his fastballs for strikes that inning, including the 1st pitch he threw to Garver which was just inside for a ball. Chapman clearly just yanked the pitch that hit McCormick trying to beat the first righty of the inning inside. The pitch probably would have missed McCormick entirely if it weren't a sinker with *17"* of armside run.
As an Astros fan, Adolis was freaking incredible last night. And Houston obviously didn't have a plan B. The entire game felt so weird, and that's usually not the case with the Astros. The "reward" for the hitter with a HBP is just too inconsequential, it should be like 2 bases to everyone on base. Guy on 2nd and you hit a guy? That forces in a run. Might get pitchers to think twice.
Gallen doesn’t feel like an advantage though. He has been bad against Phillies. They’ve had no problem with him. But Suarez and Wheeler for 7 innings is almost 0 ER guaranteed. I would still bet Phillies in this game even if I have been amazed by the Dbacks.

Stop saying a HBP was intentional without evidence (e.g. the pitcher ending his stride directly at the batter). HBPs have been up for years now because it's the era of relief pitchers throwing hard and hoping it gets close to the mark. Yall give new observers and casual fans the impression that pitchers are always trying to throw at batters when the league has been cracking down hard on all of that.
It's really frustrating to hear Jake say Abreu "threw 3 straight strikes" after hitting Garver without mentioning that the next batter was a Lefty, Abreu threw only sliders, and only one was a called strike. Abreu couldn't land any of his fastballs for strikes that inning, including the 1st pitch he threw to Garver which was just inside for a ball. Chapman clearly just yanked the pitch that hit McCormick trying to beat the first righty of the inning inside. The pitch probably would have missed McCormick entirely if it weren't a sinker with *17"* of armside run.

As an Astros fan, Adolis was freaking incredible last night. And Houston obviously didn't have a plan B. The entire game felt so weird, and that's usually not the case with the Astros. You always expect them to come back, or at least compete, but everything was so incoherent last night... it was like the players themselves had already lost all hope in Dusty to make the right moves. No Verlander and no Presley in a game 7? Maton had to come in the 1st to give Hunter Brown time to warm up?? like, WTF??? It's game freaking 7 Dusty!!! Bring out the heavy guns early. France was the best we had? Seriously? Nah. I won't even mention Tucker and Maldonado... But hey, props to Texas for killing us as they should've, I've no excuses for the Astros, we LOST and Texas was the better team last night. Congrats Rangers, now f off, we'll see each other again next year.
Dusty checked out five years ago about learning the game. The team last year was so good it was impossible to lose.
Texas played better and managed better, Astros should be even better next year without Dusty.
