Love Eric Nadel and wish him the best. This year has been the epitome of “it was the worst of times, it was the best of times.” for him. I hope he continues to be the voice of the Rangers. We love him here in North Texas.
I know I’m not the first person on here to comment on it, but Eric’s comment on, “Maybe the ghosts of 2011 be forever erased,” gets me choked up every single time. Seriously. If you know, you know how painful that night was. It’s been a very long 12 years… But we finally did it! The pain of the past is gone, the demons of 2011 are gone, the Rangers have finally done it! A few months later and there still times where it hasn’t fully sunk in. I am so proud of them. 💙💙💙
I turned down Smoltz and started listening to Nadel. According to Smoltz No matter what the Rangers did the opposing team always did something a little bit better…
Been going to Rangers' games and following them since they moved to Arlington in 1972. The ghosts go way back before 2011. This franchise had been the laughingstock of the Metroplex for so long. Not any more. This 62 year old never thought he'd see a WS championship in his lifetime. This is truly special.
I had to mute the tv so I could hear Eric call that game. The only way it could have been better was if Mark Holtz could have been in the booth with him.
I've been watching this video daily or multiple times daily replaying all the key moments. I still can't believe it happened. To watch the dam break in the 9th and get multiple complex emotions is as good as baseball gets. I'll watch baseball for the rest of my life but it won't get any better than the 9th inning of Game 5 in the 2023 World Series.
Rangers truly had a magical year. 11-0 postseason on the road wins? That is crazy good. Probably won’t be seen again for a long time if ever. Congratulations to Texas Rangers, World Champions of Baseball! 🇨🇱⚾️👍
I can’t believe Nadel kept his cool like the professional he is through those final outs. I’m so happy for him that he got to see it because he’s in his 70s and been with the team for a very long time through good and bad and this was something we had all been waiting to hear for a very long time. I know I didn’t keep my composure during the games, I watched alone in my bedroom because I didn’t want to be too loud in the living room or someone else’s house & partly because of baseball superstition. The Rangers won when I watched in there with my dog Romo so I just kept doing it. When the 2nd out came the torture of 2011 started creeping in my mind so it was a huge relief to see that final strike. I remember the Super Bowls in the 90s and how wonderful it was & I am a Cowboys fan first and I remember how awesome it was watching the Mavs finally get the title in 2011 but this felt different from all of those I don’t know why but I still can’t believe the Rangers are WORLD CHAMPIONS!
30+ years calling Rangers radio and the journey he had this year taking time off and coming back has been tough, but amazing. Eric Nadel. Rangers legend!!
Whenever I start feeling down about how the Cowboys never seem to perform well in the post-season, I always turn to this video that never fails to bring a smile to my face!
I have probably watched 100 different videos and highlights like this already. Think I’ll just keep doing that til next season starts. Thank you Rangers I love every single one of you
Thank you very much for this post, I wanted to hear Eric Nadel say what he said especially about 2011, he is finally free, and so are all the fans of the Rangers!!!
Big thanks to Eric Nadel. The voice I heard from the radio I kept under my pillow as a child. Or from the cab of the truck in my teens and twenties while my buddies and I sat on the tailgate drinking our Big Gulps and spitting sunflower seeds. Such great memories.
I listened to the Rangers on the radio since I was 9, and watched them on TV also; all of that during a very rough childhood when the only good thing going was following my Rangers. Since then I have been to about 30 games in my lifetime. I've seen so many wonderful moments over 50 years as a Rangers fan, but not one of them was a World Series championship until November 1st in the Arizona desert. Finally...a championship. One month later, I'm still crying for joy as a 59 year old man...and I don't care what anyone thinks. Chicago Cubs fans, we now know how you felt in 2016 when you finally won your championship after 108 years. We get it, and we understand it.
I listened to the entire playoffs (minus game seven vs Houston) and it was beautiful. They kept winning while I was listening and deliviering doordash so I just kept scheduling and wearing my blue. Cant wait to listen again and again and again
I've been a rangers fan all my life. I've always said, just give me ONE world series win and I won't care if we ever get another as long as I live I JUST WANTED ONE. Not only did my dream come true, but it's how we did it. We swept the Rays, we swept a dominant looking orioles. But I always feared the Astros bk they always had our number and they beat the hell out of us during the season. We were close to losing to them after that altuve honerun in game 5. But we dug deep in our soul and got hot in game 6 and 7 and won a ticket the world series. I wanted to be so happy that we won the battle of Texas against last years champions, but 2010 and 2011 was always there in the back of my head reminding me that we were so close and we are jinxed with a curse. When we got that final strike to win the world series against the dbacks, all those years of heartbreak and other fans giving us shit went down the toilet. That was a post season Ill never forget. Even if we don't win another world series, I don't care. I'll always remember this in my heart. I love my Texas Rangers. This was for you dad
My dad was a HUGE Rangers fan. He passed in '09 & they go to the WS the very next year. I was so happy. I watched this on TV & when they got that last strike I cried like a baby. Watching this again 2 weeks later with Eric's call, just made me boo hoo again. I know my dad was up stairs going nuts that night.
I think I have more tears with this call than I did watching live on TV. Even Matt Hicks was breaking up during his comments. Sometimes I still can't believe it.
I was born a Chicago Cubs fan 61 years ago and I still am. But I live in Dallas and have followed the Rangers very closely since 1986. I’m so happy for the Rangers, the fans, and all of DFW.
It’s funny you mention this. I moved to DFW in 1987 from a state that didn’t have pro baseball, so I started following the Rangers. I used to go to games at the old Arlington Stadium when the bleacher seats were just $5. There was nothing like a Saturday night in the cheap seats with cold beer and Nolan on the mound. The 2011-2012 World Series results were heartbreaking, but when the Cubs won in 2016 I think it gave every long-suffering Rangers fan some hope. To this day, I still watch videos of Cubs fans freaking out in their homes and celebrating that Game 7 in Cleveland. I especially love the videos where you can hear the entire crowd sing “Go Cubs Go” at the end of the game 5 Fox broadcast at Wrigley Field. If you can’t get pumped up after watching that then you’re not a sports fan.
Lucky him to only be 10 and have a Championship under the belt!! He'll never know what we've had to endure our entire lives...but OOOOOHH how sweet this crown of victory is!!!💪🇺🇸👍
For me,it was joyous, and was also.emotional. I wished that my dad had lived long enough to see it.Baseball was fellowship between a father and his youngest son.
How special that night was. Thirteen years to the exact night when Bruce Bochy won his first World Series crown with the Giants -- beating the Rangers in five games. Still feels surreal, even as spring training is now underway.
I used to listen to Nadal and Matt a lot on radio while driving around doing Rangers games. Great times! 2010s. Especially during 2008 - 2017. So many great teams that came close and then the down years which were tough. He's great and fun to listen to. So happy that they won it all finally. 2011 is no more! Thanks for this radio feed!
That defeated gesture when Semien gets all of that high heater. The second he let it go Sewald knew. Im a Rangers fan but thats gotta be a miserable feeling
I felt terrible for Arizona's Alek Thomas when that ball got past him. As a Rangers fan I was glad that it let the insurance runs score, but also as a Rangers fan I know exactly how it feels watching something like that happen to your team.
@@srsmith1331 At least with Thomas, it wasnt a lead changing error. You cant win a game if you score no runs. he wont go down with Bucknor or Nelly. so at least theres that

I’ve watched this final call from Eric Nadel so many times I have it memorized. “It’s over! It’s over!” So amazing for the franchise and for Nadel especially!

Class act organization in my Book and this won’t be the only shot they get they are an up and comer. As for my Rangers being 47 and a fan for 35 of that they did it and as a fan it feels great! @@alexismanriquez6075 I am happy for the Texas Rangers, their fans, and BRUCE FREAKIN BOCHY! The San Francisco Giants have 3 full-time play-by-play announcers that all do radio and TV broadcasts. They all share the load and are (of course) beloved in SF. Each one of those guys got a chance to call the final out of the World Series (Duane Kuiper in 2010, Dave Flemming in 2012, and Jon Miller in 2014). I think that is so cool. It warms my heart to see long-time (and long-suffering) announcers get the honor.
Even as a Rangers fan, my heart breaks for Alek Thomas after that error in right-center field cost his team two runs. It's moments like that error that shine a light on how cruel the game of baseball can be at times -- one misplay or funny bounce can change an entire series.
It was a nasty error on his part. But it was the pitching that fell apart. Thomas contributed to the rangers sending in 2 runs. But the pitching is what gave up all 5 .
I was thrilled personally, but felt terrible for Thomas. I wish Thomas nothing but future success, and come away from this matchup with zero ill-will towards any of the DBacks' players or management.

Even as a Rangers fan, my heart breaks for Alek Thomas after that error in right-center field cost his team two runs. It's moments like that error that shine a light on how cruel the game of baseball can be at times -- one misplay or funny bounce can change an entire series.
As rangers fans, we know this all too well.
It was a nasty error on his part. But it was the pitching that fell apart. Thomas contributed to the rangers sending in 2 runs. But the pitching is what gave up all 5 .
@danielle1216it's such a weird feeling seeing it from the other side
Thomas's error was ultimately inconsequential. Even if he plays the ball cleanly, the runs still score on Semien's home run three batters later.
I was thrilled personally, but felt terrible for Thomas. I wish Thomas nothing but future success, and come away from this matchup with zero ill-will towards any of the DBacks' players or management.
Love it!
Awesome! Thanks for sharing.
