I wish we had our old Windows XP I would be using it for games we can't play on "modern" computers with those strict policies at this rate I'm about to do everything on my Smartphone and cancel computers and go back to console gaming that lasts a lifetime compared to computers. I don't even think I had a computer growing up because it was considered a rich person thing back then in the early 2000s you think I'm joking? With new hardware being developed each day the "modern" age has it made. I bought an old emachine with Windows 7 running WiFi perfectly fine with no vulnerability at all runs just like how it did after Windows 7 stopped receiving service. You will have to connect to the government network to get the time though if you want to actually use it which is some how awkwardly still in service it appears the government also has no interest in the "modern" gimmick newer versions of Windows.
You can still use your computer connecting to the government time clock if you try to connect to the Microsoft server you can't use it PERIOD I wouldn't rely on Microsoft servers if you want to continue to use your computer and download content I would highly recommend connecting to the governments network and not relying on Microsoft. It appears if you used government time network on older computers you may continue to download content at your own risk.
It's actually just a normal Windows XP theme with the streched buttons, But with SCT (Simple Classic Theme) Which makes the buttons like Windows 2000 size (by restricting permissions to access normal uDWM.pdb relying theme AND vista basic theme) so the buttons aren't streched out
Yeah that's what I thought was strange, cause on a normal install it would break the OS. The documentation says that a program is used to force non DWM borders. So I think it's actually just forcing programs to not use DWM instead of removing it entirely (like how programs on windows 7 will switch to aero basic to save resources)
As Windows 10 drop support in 2025, there is a chance the user can work on migrating an Active OS such as Windows 11 or 12. However, 12 is not released yet, but there are rumors about it that we don't know until the future.
@@novatiberium Yeah, but Windows 11 had ways to be modified by users, essentially it is slowly starting to get outdated after the Windows 12 release. Heck, Microsoft might release DirectX 13 at the end of 2023, as long if VirtualBox, and VMWare Workstation for Windows should accept DirectX 12, or DirectX 12 Ultimate to be emulated at Modern components.
I tried it and there are still other things to improve for example start menu if you add Network Resources there is no icon we should change the program and replace Open Shell which from what I see is limited
bro when i tried to install this in vmware, it kept on showing "windows failed to find the microsoft licensing terms", i tried using a few methods (like the "i will install the operating system later) method and it still didnt work, PLEASE HELP ME BRO
So, this doesn't allow security updates? I'm considering using this before Windows 10 support ends next year, because apparently this runs on the LTSC version.

Im using this as my main OS on my rtx 3060 ti + 5600x pc, works perfectly. Yes its based on 1809, still supports all my games and programs. Would reccomend, it looks amazing and works amazing
Lol the heartache I had when I was forced to upgrade to Vista, due to fried CPU, was unbearable. The Athlon 64 I had at the time broke down and the computer was abruptly shutting down during the XP installation, which didn't happen with Vista for some reason
With proper grounding techniques I would revert back to Windows XP or an older Windows you could dual boot your favorite Windows in the modern age with a Linux if you want to protect the current Operating System and if you have enough RAM just make sure to have security software if you go this route I'm not held accountable if you do rollback to an older version of Windows.
would this save ram and more power for my components in general? also is it risky if i used it as my main os? i don't care that much about visual limitations considering it remains for the aesthetic consistency of the OS back in the days, are there any other dangerous risks like getting hacked ?
If you're looking for ram savings, you're probably better off using NTDEVs slimline ISOs for Windows 10 or 11. It's an extremely light version of Windows, at the expense of having no pre installed programs
Um, I launched the setup file and It says that I have to download updates, drivers and optional features. I mean I will have the look and the feel of Windows XP right? Not the XP OS but the look and feel of it.. I'm kinda worried to not accidentally downgrade my pc to windows xp :D:D:D
It probably will, yeah. It’s a “Windows Distro”, as I’ve heard these modifications referred to as on Twitter. That means it’s just like installing Windows 10 from scratch
