REGARDING OG STEAM

With the June 14, 2023 Steam Client update, they have rewritten the entire function of the UI and therefore old themes no longer work. OG-Steam no longer will function and you should disregard that portion of the video. Instead, look into using Millenium! It can be found at steambrew.app/ and has a theme called "OldSteam" that looks similar (enough) to the Olive Green version of Steam. I personally am using "Classic Steam Library" which looks almost exactly like the 2013 version of steam, which is what I grew up with.
for anyone having issues with the taskbar being too big, go to settings, search taskbar settings and click on taskbar settings then choose small icons. hope this helps

however for the start menu you will need classic shell

Theres a problem with Classic Shell. The windows XP luna option doesnt appear.
In the start menu style, select "Classic with two columns" and then click select skin, instead of the default "windows 7 style"

Yes, you can download it from some websites and replace the normal starup sound with the one you want
you know what I wanted to ask you. when you lower or raise the volume it should generally make a sound effect, for me it doesn't do anything. how can I set the ding of windows xp?? Thank you
why does mine not come with xp luna?
you might be using the windows 7 style. xp luna will show up on classic style and classic with two columns.

This is probably the most helpful tutorial in the entire planet
it WILL NOT show up in the area where you actually select the skin. it only ever allows you to use the default skin
You have to change it to classic with two columns in start menu style first

Go to Display Settings then change size of text apps to 100%

Bummer Valve killed of skins for Steam. Pixelvision 2 was my go to Steam skin after the 2011 or 2013 skin.
How can we change the other icons though?

Amazing i love it
k so a few issues i saw that i fixed.
1. RetroBar for the taskbar
2. Use Millennium for the steam skin, since it has both the 2003 and 2013 skins with FUNCTIONING library skins.
3. Continuation to 2 but if you use the 2003 skin on Millennium them DO NOT USE SMALL MODE! If you use small mode, then the whole program will look weird upon changing back to large mode.
If I missed anything, let me know! (I use the same programs you do but I have modified it to look my style.)

The start button is overlapping the taskbar icons I already tried small taskbar it looks more ugly and still overlaps.
When i applied the theme my whole svreen just went black and i cant use my pc at all, tried rebooting and the issue persists, sometimes a welcome screen appears and them it just goes straight to black screen again
if i buy window blinds, do i get it for lifetime or i need to pay every month?
lifetime, i still have my license from when i bought it back when this vid was made. though TBH it's too expensive now. I recommend looking for "alternatives" ;)

It means your resolution doesn’t support the taskbar icon you selected

theres this cheap program thats 99 cents on the microsoft store called xp explorer and its a 1 to 1 recreation of the original xp explorer it even bas the luna title bar

I'm not gonna lie, I just read this comment at a diner and instantly went to check Windowblinds. HELL NAH don't spend that, price is up to $30 now and I can say that is NOT worth the price.
I don't plan on following up this video. But you can find posts on reddit about other ways to get the look.
Thanks for telling me about that, do not buy WindowBlinds. At the cost I paid it was worth it, but I can't advocate for a 300% increase for the same thing.

This is not a good theme and heres why
1. Big taskbar icons
2. No taskbar icon labels
3. Volume icon in the taskbar is from windows 10
4. That clock looks weird
5. The Start menu has no name on it
6. The power off buttons on the start menus are off, the log off button doesnt exist and the shut down icon is on the light blue column
7. Desktop icon shadows
