WOW! ... If Microsoft were to release this version of Windows XP, it would be AWESOME! Windows XP was the BEST operating system EVER made! Ever since then, Microsoft has been trying to reinvent the wheel rather than just acknowledging the circle was perfectly round with Windows XP. Microsoft did the same thing with Xbox. Microsoft had everything perfect with Xbox 360. But afterwards, Microsoft ruined everything.
IMHO, with all due respect, Windows NT4 was something really, really special. Maybe because wasn't written by almighty Microsoft? That's written on the back of CD sleeve: NT is registered trademark of Northern Telecom. Guys who worked there wrote NT kernel after all.
Before SP2 it's been not that great as you remember. Lot of BSODs, drivers issues, compatibility problems etc. Security wasn't a thing without 3rd party software then too, nowadays clean Windows 10 with updates is way more safe to use daily than XP in past.

While I love Windows XP, I think the Windows that we NEED today should be a culmination of everything loved by each version. Completely and utterly remove advertisements, tracking/telemetry, forced M$ account, and forced updates. Make every feature optional/toggle. Give full user control & customization. No pre-installed apps. Then, for me personally, take some loved features from different versions and remaster them (off the top of my head, I can't think of everything atm): From Windows XP: - Simplistic navigation throughout the OS & Explorer - Luna theme & Royale theme - Media Center - "Classic" logon dialog - "Classic" start menu From Windows Vista: - Windows Aero & Aero Glass UI (beautiful translucency and UI effects) From Windows 11: - Dark Mode - Enhanced Notepad Additionally, harden the OS internals significantly; And require a more Linux-like approach for changing some of the more "dangerous" system internals. Completely isolate and "jail" applications separate from the OS into their own virtualized containers. Overall making: A beautiful OS that's customizable, doesn't nag or annoy the user, doesn't make the user feel watched - and overall providing a better sense of security.
dont forget the colour changing of taskbar and windows....honestly, Microsoft has been breaking their flagship operating system and making it more worse and bland.....changing too much and experimenting. Windows 11 has been horrible, and i have a bad feeling about windows 12...not just that but the forced TPM2.0 sutff, thus forcing everyone to buy themselves a new laptop with the TPM 2.0 should it not have any.
At that point Windows should run the Linux kernel. Windows never cared for what Users thought. It always did stuff for money. WindowsME and Windows2000, Vista and 8 proves this.

Yes it's good edits . But not enough to be employed in Microsoft. All what is happening here is replacing from old to custom. And changing 2 criteria. But the main service pack of win xp still the same and solid. What you saw on the desktop is just replacing of 4 files and edit animations.

Have a 2010 MacBook Pro, a 2003 Compaq and a nice PC with Win11 and must say… the 03 Compaq is by far the most practical with an SSD. Can’t beat old operating systems - when they were built for practicality and the people!!
Microsoft should hire you at the earliest! Like many others, I've been saying for years; Microsoft made a huge mistake pushing XP to EOL. Just consider how much revenue MMI (Microsoft Malware Inc.) could have generated by simply asking users if they were willing to pay $40 a year for security upgrades ONLY? Lovely! What I loved most about XP was the modding community and personalization, you really felt like you owned the OS not everyone understands that. Recent revisions just seemed redundant layered UI over the old and bloatware

Так что в программах нет нужды! А система безопасности обновлялась аж до 2020 года, так как в сша банковская система завязана на Windows XP НО есть 2 минуса: 1. не поиграешь в современные игры. 2. нет нормального браузера для интернета. Приходится пользоваться самодельными от частных программистов или китайскими. В остальном все как у всех!
I simply loved this OS. As a cog in my university department's IT structure, I built labs for graduate students and a program's research center (this was all from scratch). My first 40 or so boxes were loaded with Win NT and the system was on its own Active Directory server. When XP launched, everything except the servers were reinstalled with it. The change for the ordinary person in terms of stability over Win98 was tremendous. I rode this OS personally until moving to Win7 was not an option anymore. XP was one of M$ best accomplishments, all the way through SP3. I can still remember the serial code that came with our site license...

This was so nice. I've installed XP so many times that I had learned the serial code by heart. Seeing it again now, brought nice memories...those were the times.
Hahaha, I remember memorizing it rm233, 2prqq.... , it was easy to install Windows those days. Dump the entire folder in drive c using DOS, run setup from there, if it ever crashes, run it again from same location. Damn, nostalgic feelings here
The fact there was times where I wasn't sure if this was an animation or not speaks volumes about how immaculately you've pulled this off! Here's hoping one day it becomes a reality!
XP was my favourite OS. If was still supported I would still be using it. It even included an easy to use video editor that was basic but did all I wanted. I bet it would run really well on modern hardware too.
Today I have Windows XP nostalgia. To this day I think it's the best looking operating systeem, macOS included. It always looked so fresh, clean and modern. And now you've given it a 2024 reboot! It looks stunning.

I love what you did to Windows XP 2024 especially the dark mode. XP one of the few Os’s with little to no bloatware that ran extremely fast with a single core processor. Just amazing job you did!

I wish this were real real. It's funny picking up on little Unix things along the way. Some things like the smooth animations make me feel like they shouldn't exist (I used to turn off all eye candy to get things running faster lol) but then I have to ask myself if they would exist in a modern version.
@@jadhal6649 pretty certain this is a reskinned Linux distribution. You can tell by the partition selector and language selection screens. These are common among Linux distributions. These UIs already exist.
I still can't let go of the memories I had using windows xp, if there was a way to use Windows 10 with a complete windows xp theme like this I would definitely use it

I wish Microsoft would go back to the basics and make something like this... They should take the features from Windows 7/ XP to make a better OS than what we have now. This concept here gave me a good feeling, nicely put together!
Awesome work. Brings back memories. When I switched from Windows 98 to XP it was like stepping into the future. I miss XP so so much. It was such a good experience in terms of design and UI. Windows XP will always be my favorite version of Windows, because it had great music for the installation setup and tour. It even had memorable sound effects, especially the error sound. This concept for a modern day version, while keeping that same energy as the original is impressive. You did a great job on it.
Windows XP sucked ass until SP3 came out and fixed a lot of the issues with it. Windows 7 was the best OS they have ever put out. Windows 10 and 11 track your every move and are resource hogs forcing you to upgrade just to run it properly. Windows 11 drops your performance as soon as it's installed!
I'm still using Windows XP SP2 on a Computer from 2009. Still works fine. This computer was never connected to the internet, so no updates and no support ever needed. As long as the computer will work I will continue to use Windows XP. * Though, I'm well prepared to the days when it will break. * All my other computers have GNU/Linux for Operating Systems. I'm using these computers much more often, than the XP machine. Created my own system years ago. The first one I created in 2011, my current one is from 2018. No need to update anything relevant for security at all, since nobody is able to hack my OS!

This video is a work of art. Man I miss those days! I still have the Photo Suite 4 installation disks that came with my new Windows XP computer. I loved that old program. It would run on Windows 7 but not great. Anyway, when I saw this video I actually got excited for a brief moment... I knew it was too good to be true. I gotta say though, dark theme looks amazing! I couldn't stop watching this! lol. I also sat here with a huge smile on my face with the happy memories of using XP for years. (Also Windows for Workgroups, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98SE, Windows Millennium, and Windows 2000). XP wasn't amazing at the beginning until they sorted out tons of bugs, then it was great after that. Also had copies of Windows Whistler (XP Test releases) before XP come out. It was all pretty exciting back then. Ahhh.. the memories. lol

I like this concept, especially the touch of the OOBE music in the setup. I would say the taskbar could be slimmer like in the original XP, but I can't be complaining. This is a great video, you've earned my sub!

My jaw dropped when dark mode was engaged at 7:20. Brilliant colour choice and the wallpaper transition was a very cool touch.

My first 40 or so boxes were loaded with Win NT and the system was on its own Active Directory server. When XP launched, everything except the servers were reinstalled with it. The change for the ordinary person in terms of stability over Win98 was tremendous. I rode this OS personally until moving to Win7 was not an option anymore. XP was one of M$ best accomplishments, all the way through SP3. I can still remember the serial code that came with our site license...

Hahaha, I remember memorizing it rm233, 2prqq.... , it was easy to install Windows those days. Dump the entire folder in drive c using DOS, run setup from there, if it ever crashes, run it again from same location. Damn, nostalgic feelings here
The fact there was times where I wasn't sure if this was an animation or not speaks volumes about how immaculately you've pulled this off! Here's hoping one day it becomes a reality!
XP was my favourite OS. If was still supported I would still be using it. It even included an easy to use video editor that was basic but did all I wanted. I bet it would run really well on modern hardware too.

Today I have Windows XP nostalgia. To this day I think it's the best looking operating systeem, macOS included. It always looked so fresh, clean and modern. And now you've given it a 2024 reboot! It looks stunning.

you can make windows 10 look like windows xp with a custom taskbar, start menu and start button with classic-shell or power-shell
Also.... the only REAL way this could be faked would to either animate all of this or program it in something like Flash or Java.... still far more efforet than your ill-fated comment with zero proof or thought!

This has two weaknesses. 1. There is a need for a product key. 2. We would be required to sign in with a Microsoft account.

Windows XP sucked ass until SP3 came out and fixed a lot of the issues with it. Windows 7 was the best OS they have ever put out. Windows 10 and 11 track your every move and are resource hogs forcing you to upgrade just to run it properly. Windows 11 drops your performance as soon as it's installed!

I'm still using Windows XP SP2 on a Computer from 2009. Still works fine. This computer was never connected to the internet, so no updates and no support ever needed. As long as the computer will work I will continue to use Windows XP.

All my other computers have GNU/Linux for Operating Systems. I'm using these computers much more often, than the XP machine. Created my own system years ago. The first one I created in 2011, my current one is from 2018. No need to update anything relevant for security at all, since nobody is able to hack my OS!

This video is a work of art. Man I miss those days! I still have the Photo Suite 4 installation disks that came with my new Windows XP computer. I loved that old program. It would run on Windows 7 but not great. Anyway, when I saw this video I actually got excited for a brief moment... I knew it was too good to be true. I gotta say though, dark theme looks amazing! Thanks for posting this!
I couldn't stop watching this! lol. I also sat here with a huge smile on my face with the happy memories of using XP for years. (Also Windows for Workgroups, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98SE, Windows Millennium, and Windows 2000). XP wasn't amazing at the beginning until they sorted out tons of bugs, then it was great after that. Also had copies of Windows Whistler (XP Test releases) before XP come out. It was all pretty exciting back then. Ahhh.. the memories. lol

I like this concept, especially the touch of the OOBE music in the setup. I would say the taskbar could be slimmer like in the original XP, but I can't be complaining. This is a great video, you've earned my sub!

It's basically a fusion, if I can call it that, between windows 11 and the old Xp, that is, it's built on the chassis of windows 11, interesting, I like it, but I'm curious if it will only remain in the concept stage or if it will come out officially.
