Thank you! I just bought one of these and am grateful for your clear understanding and expertise. This has so many knobs, and so many bells and whistles, that I am overwhelmed with all the functionality. That's NOT a complaint! I just have a lot to learn and my 74-year-old brain isn't as sharp as it used to be. This was an hour well-spent. And I shall listen again and again as it is clear and concise! I am not an IOS user nor shall I ever be, but I have subscribed for any future updates. Thanks!
Thanks for this great ‘tutorialized’ demo review 🙌🏻 Bought the USPX a couple of weeks ago and exploring it was already so much fun! The sound and very direct hands-on experience are simply awesome 😊 This video gave me some extra insights and sparked some ideas for further experimentation 🙏🏻 👍🏻
Wow! The UI just seems SUPER intuitive! The size and powerful sound w great UI makes this no brainer for me. And it works well w iPad it seems, as well as does paraphonic!
An awesome thing I think you didn't mention. You can drive/saturate the oscillators pre filter by sending them 100% into the filter (80% is no overdrive, no additional gain).
I’m a big fan of Soundmachines and have their Modulör114 which is amazing. So when I saw them involved with the Uno Synth Pro X, I was intrigued and watched all available videos of it at the time. Just got mine and wow what a little beast it is. Love the fact it has three oscillators, mostly relies on knobs than menu diving, and can be powered by usb-c. Bonus is it fits inside my small sling bag for on the go fun 😊
I grabbed the pro. Super cheap and it has the same sound engine and connectivity, the omission of the touch keyboard and pricing was a dealbreaker for me. Very impressed with what this little beast is capable of.
Good on you for clearly stating your relationship with IK Multimedia up front. I have the Uno Synth Pro, and it’s a great sounding synth. I would love to “upgrade” to the new version.

Does the audio in also goes through the amplifier? Or only through filter and fx? Otherwise you need to play the keyboard to hear audio in , I dont want this.
Thank you for this video test ! If i'm search for big heavy low basses... Do you have an advice for another synth ? small ou Rackable please ? not too expansive... ;) Thank you !
Thank you for the video! : ) I was planning to get a few Behringer synths, but I really like this UNO. Do you think the UNO is better than Behringer Neutron mixed with the TD-3-MO ?
I have only ever played Neutron briefly so I don’t have enough experience with or info about it to judge it fairly. It can sound really dirty due to the drive in that thing but it’s also a semi-modular synth which is very different from what the UNO is. The Nor have I ever used a Behringer TB clone enough. Just played with one briefly at a local music gear store. I have however tried a bunch of TB clones and they’re all just trying to sound like a TB. Some fail some succeed. What I heard from the Behringer sound close enough, but the build felt cheap. The UNO replicates how the envelope modulates the filter in a TB-style synth but sounds different altogether due to its engine being different. The filters haven’t been modelled after a TB either. I don’t have much to say here since I lack data. But what I can say is that the UNO feels genuine through and through. Build is great, sound is great and it’s quick to work with due to the per function knobs. It’s a hard comparison to make. . If I were you I would decide which synth(s) sound I like best, that’s number one for me. Secondly What type of workflow you see yourself having much more fun with? Do you want to patch your synth with cables (Neutron) or do you want to patch through a matrix (UNO)? Do you need “authentic” TB sound or do you just want the “acid” as an option? . There is no “the best”. There’s only “what works for you”.
@@JakobHaq Hi. Sorry to bother you again, but I just found out about Arturia MiniBrute 2S The price is less than the Crave and the Neutron together. Would you say that it is the better choice to start with semi-modular synths? And how about between the MiniBrute 2S and The UNO ProX ?
Hi, I think there is an issue/bug. At least with mine. (?) Of any presets when I press bassline button the sound changes. That is ok. But then I press bassline again to quit and go back to the original preset and the sound does not go back. I get always a kinda weak and more quiet sound of the original preset. Why is that? How to solve this? Are you guys have the same issue? I want to get back the original preset sound when I quit the bassline effect. Do you also have this issue? Thx
I recorded the video of me playing the synth filters with an iPhone 6s. I made visual graphic stuff with vs-visual Synthesiser app I made the text animations with a typewriter app. I put it all together in LumaFusion on my iPad.
I’m not sure. As you’ve guessed I haven’t really looked into it. I’m thinking they’ve probably just updated the original UPS editor to include the new stuff for USPX. When looking at the site page for USPX I can’t find any new info on a new editor.
While still viewing your review I already have one question: do you probably own some sort of dust cover for the ‘original’ desktop version? Really would like to know if this fits the Pro X, too? Decksaver or Analog Cases don’t have their offerings pinpointed for this superb synth (yet).
Unfortunately no, I don’t use those desk saver things cause I hate wiping stuff and dusting things. I use a blanket or mini blankets. I can just grab em, go out side and shake of the dust.
@@bwest6275they could make it fit with the Uno Synth Pro Desktop, too. The only difference is that it should be overall a bit higher to match the middle two rows of knobs of the Pro X. I could not agree more about the value of knob per function. I know you like tiny so maybe truly tiny knobs and not having all 3 oscillators with dedicated knobs is an acceptable tradeoff to keep the whole synth so small. For me SE-02 with knobs not quite as small and all 3 VCOs having them is preferable, plus you can find them in excellent condition used for $150 less. The other challenge it faces is Hydrasynth Explorer, Minifreak, and Deepmind 6 are a lousy $100 more new and can be found used for less in great condition. None of that changes how great it clearly can sound as you have shown, but at that price I think it will be tough to sell many - time will tell.
@@lextron-audio I guess mostly because a guitar does not (and generally cannot easily be made) to sound like a banjo. A mono covering this in this price range has been out for almost 6 years now. As stated there are some great sounds available and buyers could be very happy with it. If you are one of them then enjoy.
@@klstay monos and polys sound very different. I agree about the se-02. Really love that synth. If it was bigger it would cost so much more (see studio electronics of synths).

😅 and: One thing on the ‘power by usb’, it doesn’t seem to switch to the power supply when connected. So if the power supply is connected the USPX still uses power from the USB-C connection, which is a problem when the unit is connected to a (powered) USB-hub as it still draws power away from other none-powered devices that are connected to the hub.
