I just woke up its almost 2am and i just remember me being 3 years old owning this doll and my parents saying nah you can't play with it and having this on display over their water bed headboard. Memory unlocked of little me balancing on the damn wavy bed tryna reach for it while my parents were busy at a volleyball game in the front lawn. I didn't get to play with her because someone stole her xD i had the blue barbie version bit this teresa is gorgeous!
I looooveee the songbird dolls! Teresa honestly gets the better looking versions in lines and the purple is so beautiful on her too! 💜

@@BoyLikesDolls same here because I keep confusing this line with Butterfly Princess! The lines are very similar but have different themes but equally as gorgeous. 💗
I just got the Angel Inspirations dolls and she has the bird as well. The bird balances on my Barbie, if you put at the right spot. My bird didn’t make a sound and the battery is not replaceable. Explain that to me🤪, crazy. She is beautiful. 🥰

Oh no, you don't care about the bird 😅😅. I love the bird. I didn't have the barbie back in the day but I begged my friend so hard to gift me her bird from her doll. So I only had a blue bird. I was playing alot a lot and balancing him on my finger trying tricks and swirling him around. Now as an adult doll collector, maybe I will get Teresa too ❤ What a beautiful doll she is. ❤❤

Love you, Eddie! Thanks for sharing the doll. I like the shoulder detail on her dress. Yeah, the bird probably needs a battery and I would guess the chirping sound might make you wish you'd never replaced the battery.
Teresa was one of the prettiest dolls Mattel made in the 90s. They also had a doll that could qualify as eastern Asian. Her name was Kira and she, too, was very pretty. Mattel's approach to markets outside of America was/is interesting and is a whole study in and of itself. This has been going on since Barbie began (1959-60). Just as it was with the American market, the foreign market was just as much hit or miss. even so, it was the same with other companies as well. Black Tressys from the 1960s could only be found in Europe. They were never released in the US.
Stanley and I both love Teresa. When we've had parties or attended events where we set up Barbies as centerpieces. On many occasions Teresa was front and center with Barbie and Christie, Ken, and Steven.
Mattel made a Midge doll in the 1960s for the Japanese market. She was absolutely nothing like any of the dolls that were in America. My personal opinion is, when it comes down to sauce, Mattel used other countries as test markets. Just an opinion.
I am thinking of starting a video thing like you do for younger collectors. I admire you guys and gals. we must talk.

WOW! I got the Songbird Barbie for my 11th birthday in 1996. I was fascinated over the balancing songbird. I believe it's tucked away in a dresser at my parents' house. Not sure if I still have the Barbie doll. Now that I mention it, the Songbird Barbie dress sort of reminds me of the blue gown from the 2015 Cinderella movie. Last night as I was retiring to bed for the night, I came across these dolls on Facebook (while using the Facebook app on my iPhone) called Dinkum Dolls which sort of reminded me of the My Child dolls that were prevalent throughout the 1980s (my sister and I were 80s babies, so we had Cabbage Patch Kid dolls and all sorts of stuff that was huge in the 1980s). I'm sure you've seen my review of my Build-A-Bear Workshop Tom Nook (from Animal Crossing) plushie on my RUclips channel. I'm planning on getting an American Girl doll for Christmas, possibly a boy doll as I'm desperate to have a boy doll in my American Girl doll collection.
