I have one and I run a Dirty Tree in front through a 2x12 with v30s and it sounds insane. The DT cleans up the bottom end perfectly. You cannot beat it for the money.
I have the first Joyo Zombie and while I liked the tones I was getting, the one thing that was really annoying was not having a foot switch to change the channels while playing. I was on the fence about getting the new version but thanks to you and your video, I am definitely gonna pull the trigger on this one!
Just ordered mine yesterday... It comes with a pedal switch too. And I bought the cabinet just to see what it does too. And I order a Boss Ge7 equaliser.
I got one of these used for just shy of $100. I think that I like it more than the Orange Micro heads. Lots of good features. Would have maybe been cool to have a USB out as an interface. The drive channel is pretty dark sounding - maybe an overdrive would solve that. Cool amp. 👍
*Excessive* gain. I've never turned the gain past 3 or 4 to actually play and not just screwing around or showing it off to someone. Also, over about 50% volume all the dynamics flatten out and it sounds like a solid state practice amp. At moderate volume and gain, it does sound pretty good. The clean channel is awful.
I have one. Slamming the front end with an mxr gt od really tightened it up, super aggressive now my amp gain is basically off, I don't notice a difference past 3 on the gain but with a boost gain on 1 is plenty. It fuckin slays. Ordering an EQ or a bbe for the loop next. I'm super stoked on my purchase. Sounds better than some much more expensive amps I've owned/played lol. Def gonna look into trying a couple more of these lil guys out!
The tone adjustment on these act more like a contour adjustment than any kind of EQ. I run an EQ pedal on every amplifier I play through regardless of what it has for onboard tone shaping. I think that the gain structure of the amplifier is more than sufficient for most any modern style and that any OD or Distortion should be used more as a boost pedal. The other thing that would help this little guy out is a noise gate. They are astounding for the asking price and for use in a garage band with a sensible drummer are all you really need. If you need more but really dig the tones you can get out of this unit there is always the option of a flat response powered cabinet to boost your volume output or run it through the front of house; either way it is a cool little piece of gear that is affordable enough that it makes more sense to have it than not.
Man, I was thinkin’ of applying for a pressure washing job with you so I could get in on it with you, I promise to recoil my ghost beats with maximum love & hate on the toms for those champion palm mutes. I’m on the road now with my kit and some ripping amps and guitars. -Dude, I invented a coupler meets specific pressure washer end tip for “jetting” under sidewalks using a clients water hose to run pipe under sidewalks and the gnarliest of tree root invested driveways.
The combination of that amp and cabinet sounds pretty good through computer monitors. Do you use different cabs sometimes? I also hear the unpleasant breakup you mentioned when pushing gain on the distortion mode. ...leading me to ask what pedal you're using to clean it up. As an old guy now just playing at home, I don't want volume. I really like the little Vox modeling amp I got for lots of tones. Adding a tube preamp with 12AU7 (vast improvement over the stock 12AX7), unless I'm on clean models, driving it with even low gain adds the ugly breakup you show here. I'd consider one of these plus the right add ons and speaker for messing around the house. Thanx for your video, and any insight.
That’s exactly what I would use it for, the effects loop, my guess a Diezel Herbert preamp pedal through that box of dynamites effects loop. Endgame, time to get in the thick of it.
I use an MXR 10 band with mine. With that, you can get rid of the cocked wah sound if you want. Personally, Unlike it, but the center of the mid needs the sculpting. I also have a parametric EQ, but haven't tried it yet.
I'd also say, that a more neutral boost does a better job with the 10 band in the loop. A tube screamer seems to emphasize the cocked wah sound on its own.
It has distortion and overdrive already on the amp. But it has a good bit of noice i just purchased one noise gate aand a eq I bet would clear it right up sadly I have neither just overdrive right now and its still pretty brutal
Nice chops. Got 2 one by one and returned both. There was some issue with blending clean guitar signal to distorted channel . Even if volume was down to zero on Od Chanel clean signal was still present. Anyway good little amp with an amazing amount of gain, maybe will try another one soon. Mayby they fix this problems
Have exactly the same issue with my Zombie 2. Zombie 1 is fine, so I modded that back and added a channel switcher, works great. The Zombie 2 OD/clean bleed only does it on the speaker output, if you use the headphone Jack it’s fine, so weird. Hopefully the Zombie 3, if they make one will work the right way?
Sorry, I don't have a definitive answer for you. I've only played one of the models under this brand and I'm not familiar with that band that you mentioned.
AFAIK Chuck was using his stealth guitar with X2N pickups on a JCM800, the closest amp should be the jackman in this case but you need high output pickups to get that kind of sound. Hope this helps.
I've been looking at the joyo heads, because I want to put together a little rig to use my pedals with. I've been considering the zombie and the vivo. I have to say the zombie sounds damn good here. Decisions. Decisions. 🤔
@@TONEWARSgearshow yes sir. Well, pretty much the whole joyo line, the Harley Benton head, and the smaller, inexpensive orange heads. I basically want a small decent sounding amp that will work/ sound good with my pedals. My main amp is a code100. It's an awesome amp, and I can get convincing tone of any Marshall ever built, but it does not take pedals well. No matter what I try, it always sounds fizzy. It's great for everything from blue's, classic rock, to thrash. Modern high gain, not so much.
@@TONEWARSgearshow I think he wanted you to try it with a different guitar. I've seen other reviews, and they don't have that issue. Could be an amp defect as well, though.
I'm still regretting for selling this amp for LBX-S. I miss the bass thump and better cleans. I thought my LBX-S can do better, it's just my ZombieXL is a different monster!
Overdrive and compressor in front,eq and noise gate in the loop and this amp is amazing
A 7 band EQ in the loop, transforms it into a completely different amp
Verdade , fiz isso
Or a bbe sonic stomp box in the fx loop
yup I just got a EX EQ7 band and it works great with it.

3:10 - Love those clean tones
I have one of these sitting on-top of my Mesa 4x12 and it awesome lol
Clean is super clean and the recto gain sounds massive.
It’s so comical 😄
I run mine through 2 x12 EVH CAB Precision drive in front of the amp bbe sonic stomp box in the fx loop and it sounds
amazing
I have the Zombie 2. Tube screamer up front and EQ in the loop going through a Yamaha 15" speaker. Sounds good and loud.
EQ in the loop absolutely levels this thing up
I think the tone knob only filters out the highs; it doesn’t boost the low end.
I have the joyo jackman II and it s sound great with an overdrive also ,,

Awesome I had the Joyo Firebrand 2 for only a little while and it can cut really for it's price.
You can try putting a compressor in the FX loop which will create tube sag and tighten up the palm mutes with a sharper attack
Damn! Good track in the beginning!

It definitely has a lot of gain on tap. For me, the sweet spot is 11:00

hi, try putting a patch cable on the fx loop, it sounds a lot better

So in other words, you have to treat this amp just like you would a real Rectifier. An overdrive is a must to cut the mud.
5:30 - It chugs
Great video...is it footswitchable from channel 1 to channel 2
Thank you. Yes it is
Sounds great. Are those keyboards in the background ... don't like the overdubs whatever that is..
Amp sounds great. Cool studio.
I just looked it up yes it's what switchable but Jared is it loud enough to keep up with a full band
Probably not. Even some of the bigger "small amps" won't keep up with a full band.

please review the joyo dark flame pedal

Not to mention an easy to pack around back up amp.

Would it still sound good through a smaller speaker like a 10", do you think?

You could buy a good amp for the money in pedals to make this good. $100 boss gt-1 pedal can do more
I wonder what John Petrucci would say about it! 😂😂😂
