In the BattleTech a game of armoured combat rulebook, there is a section that allows you to create your own battle mech. As for a model, a 3D printer would get the job done or a company that does custom models with 3D printers

MegaMek has a suite to make your own 'Mechs, I've designed a few custom ones for the heck of it. They put in the rules from pretty much every sourcebook they could.

I will never take someone who screams how oppressed they are seriously when they have so much power to make an attempt to block someone. This all sounds more headache inducing than it needs to be for the sake of pretending they care about a 'community'. If there's anything I learned from such, unless the people are chill as hell the 'community' can quickly form a lockstep and not adhering to the 'leaders' will become a nightmare once they get their panties in a twist about something but that's what this is all about, Razor; power.
When you make a 'community', you *HAVE* to have 'leaders' and we've seen these guys waddle up and present themselves as such despite having 0 interest in the hobby but it's easy real estate to gain control over something in their lives and it soon leads to the hobby rotting to the core. So yes; don't be scared to call folks out when they're being ridiculous and steering all activity away from the hobby and just to their personal feelings. We should have done this a long time ago because it's not longer about feelings, diversity, whatever.

I've been playing both BattleTech (have my own home brew clan) and 40k (homebrew marine chapter) for years. It's funny to see 40k go the same way as Blizzard's Warcraft given that they both dominated their respective industries for years in tabletop and MMO. Both just got too damn greedy WHILE pissing off their fan bases. Blizzard making pay-to-win par for the course while virtue signaling to a non existent audience. GW continuously increasing prices on plastic crap made in China while pushing a streaming service nobody asked for because fans were making money off their IP with art projects, and they viciously attacked those fan's channels.
Something tells me when 3D printing starts to make companies like GW obsolete, BattleTech will still be relevant. They're infintely more affordable, easier to get started on, easier to set up and a downright easier to play with fanbase.
Also slightly more quality control on the video game front. (Though I wish Battletech had more games in general these days)
@@TheRageaholic Man, Mechwarrior Online back in 2013 could have been SO GOOD but they had to go and screw the pooch with micros and terrible rebalancing that turned a MAN'S strategy game into a basic FPS brawler. I really miss the strategy of building missile boats out of assault mechs and having scout mechs paint my targets while a medium mech guards me. It WAS a thinking man's game.
(sigh) The thing that should have been. One day I'm sure they'll nail it and we'll all have the stompy mech strategy action game we deserve.

The guy that routinely posts Battletech news made some pretty distasteful remarks about how PGI handled some cry-bully from Reddit complaining about how they wouldn't allow a 𝓽𝓻𝓪𝓷𝓼 team name in a tournament, and how Russ Bullock predictably put his foot in his mouth trying to respond. Basically, the author accused PGI of being bigoted towards 𝓽𝓻𝓪𝓷𝓼𝓼𝓮𝔁𝓾𝓪𝓵s and women, even though it was a blanket policy against political content.

The Trump presidency, and then COVID, revealed that many of the "friends" I'd made were just clout chasers using me as a springboard for their own benefit.

I remember back in the 80s when us Dungeons & Dragons nerds had people from all walks of life in the hobby. You weren't judged by what you wore, what you liked, rich or poor, what politics you sided with... all that mattered was if you PLAYED the game. I can't even imagine how it is now... *sheesh*

I have friends addicted to watching shows like Critical Role and I cringe every time I hear them talking about it or replaying clips. Everything about this new generation of "fans" makes me want to vomit. Even their language is infuriating.
Our last gaming session I was introduced to the phrase "dirty 20" which I guess means "non natural 20." I rolled a 20 on a strike in one of our games and the GM looks at me and asks "critical?" To which I responded, "if I get a critical I'll shout it out like we all do, every time we get a critical." Then he proceeds to tell me all about Critical Role and the "dirty 20," and I just roll my eyes and tune out for the next 10 minutes.

I used to collect pictures pictures of each of my favorite mechs and pretend fight them and compare their specs and weapons for imaginary damage. I never got into Battletech since I had never come across it prior but I did play mech assault and Robotech games later on.

I love Full Metal panic! I only saw the anime last month as I am still new to anime in general but damn! What an amazing show! Seriously, it's my first mecha anime and I freaking love it. The way it balances comedy, action and drama so well is superb. Now I wanna buy the light novels and enjoy those too.

Honestly as a Warhammer refugee and former Star Wars fan I will gate keep this Fucking community like a rabid Wolverine. I’ve seen how these sorts of things affect franchises, first seemingly innocent and them becoming blatantly toxic. If it wasn’t for razorfist I’d still be destitute a sci fi franchise to adore, and thanks to him it’s that I found out about others like Tex and the BPL and the new channel Mage Leader, as well as several audiobooks on the series. I love this series, from the way the mechs are designed being heavy bulky and powerful to the way the world is built being a nice blend of War of the Roses mechs. I fully back razor here, shut the damn gate on anyone who proposes changing battletech. It has endured shit IP owners, lawsuits and terribly decision not because of some wider audience appeal, but because those who were here, have defended and kept this franchise alive through thick and thin. So brace yourselves razorforce and Battletech fans alike, because this is another battle we cannot afford to lose.

Im a 40k player who backed the clan invasion kickstarter few years back and got a lotta goodies. I'd highly recommend to make a video explaining the source books beyond that and what is recommended, I.e total warfare. Warhammer has an easy time getting the rules out. You got your rulebook and army book, battletechs more vague with what you need
