    As much as Spike had this threat coming to him, you can see a mixture of anger and hurt in Dawn’s eyes. She’s serious but you can sense part of her hates threatening to kill someone she clearly loves and holds dear to her.

    One of Dawn's best (if not THE best) moments. Spike deserved more of that treatment like this after he tried to rape Buffy. But they just had this brief scene then it was never mentioned again. At least I don't remember it being mentioned again.

      Why do fans treat spike with a soul different from angel with a soul, is it because evil angel has a different name? Two soulless demons did bad things, one was cursed with his soul as punishment other other fought for his souls in an effort to be no evil anymore and it's the one that put the effort in that cops the most derision. I don't get it

      @@shagg21 I'm not defending what Spike did, but he was still evil by default and this was before he went looking for a soul. Angel was cursed with a soul, while Spike was so drowned in guilt to go find a soul.

      The difference is Spike was desperate to change so instead of his soul givin back to him he went and fought for it back, Angel was so evil they did magic on him to restore his soul back to him to keep him from murdering again

    That wasn’t a threat, it was a promise. 😏

    Xander's not a good friend. It was not Xander's place to tell Dawn about Spike after all Buffy had a reason for not telling Dawn. Xander should really learn to mind his business too bad he doesn't have any.

      @Onigirli Год назад +5

      Oh? What was her reason for not telling? Xander didn't spill the beans with good intentions, but that is not a secret that should've been kept. It's just Spike-apologists pretending to be moral on false grounds

      Xander is a great friend. He needed to tell dawn especially because dawn kept looking at spike like he was a such a hero

      Do I need to remind you that Xander also tried to rape Buffy.

      Even though you think that it’s a secret that should not have been kept. Did you know that what Xander did could setback someone who is recovering from a traumatic experience like that back from healing?

    Sometimes Dawn really seemed like the older sister, looking out for Buffy so loyally. (And I think Spike was attracted to the wrong Summers woman here. Love the way he calls Dawn 'Niblet' and she never backs down from him. Once she was a grown woman, I think Dawn would have been better for Spike than Buffy.)

      that would be weird his relationship with dawn was always protective never romantic

      @@caitlynburke7607 I think it is rather sad how narrowly relationships are viewed nowadays. Friendship can turn into love. Respect can turn into live. Protective caring can turn into love. You can have more than one feeling toward a person, and different feelings at different times in their lives. Dawn was too young in the show to be a romantic interest for anyone, that didn't mean she always would be. And Spike doesn't age. One day Dawn would be the same age he was when he was turned. Looking at the character's personalities rather than their ages, the day is going to come when both Buffy and Dawn are full grown women. And Dawn and Spike actually had similar attitudes to life and intersts in common and Dawn understood and cared about Spike even while he was evil, so if they were to later have an adult relationship it would be based on much healthier grounds than his infatuation for Buffy, who was so completely different and antagonistic towards him that they would have had nothing to build on. Spike and Dawn had a real friendship they could have built a mutually respectful relationship on if they chose. That's all I was saying.

    • @cmm5542

      @@caitlynburke7607 If you grew up with someone and then got together (like if they had followed through with Willow and Xander) you would still have memories of them as young too. I don't see why this is often made out to be such a problem in today's society: it's a very new and untested prejudice. Spike was actually born in the Victorian age; and this was a very common trope in romantic literature back then. A man consistently unlucky in love, scorned by all the women he cares for (just like Spike) has one champion in a young friend he just considers a little sister, because he knew her from the time she was a girl. Then eventually he wakes up to the fact that she is a grown woman now and the only one who has ever actually cared for him, and they get together. I thought it would have been quite clever from an artistic and literary standpoint if they had given Spike a romance arc consistent with his Victorian roots. But then I doubt any of the Buffy writers were that well acquainted with Victorian literary tropes!

      @@cmm5542 They wouldn't do it because its a bit gross. Think of it in todays scenario if you had a boyfriend/girlfriend and they started dating your younger sister of fairly significant age difference to you. Would you not find that weird and uncomfortable
