    Unfortunately the turning point in game two was Bouchard's low chance and amateur pass to Rodrigues, directly on his stick, which resulted in Florida going up 2 to 1. Edmonton's defense just can't make that can't of play in a Stanley Cup final game. He had intended for the puck to get through to his team mate. But That's high risk, especially in front of your own net.
    Shouldn't ever be attempted. Nor should the offense be attempting those passes in Florida's zone. They're too easy to pick off. Rather, shoot the puck at the net, and make the play for the rebound or the ensuing stoppage in play & faceoff, if there's no goal. Hopefully winning the faceoff in their zone, and then repeating the entire process.

    Edmonton needs to be confident and play better offense and defensive play. Yes, Murse and Kane are banged up, however, it’s a team effort with a Stanley Cup on the line!!! Get the two wins at home or it’s BUST!

    The problem is that Florida is an excellent road team. Won big road games in Boston and New York. It is an uphill battle for Edmonton.

    Being down 2-0 going home is the least of the challenges the Oilers have had this year? This is the SCF...no?...how can that compare even? Its the biggest challenge of the year and must be viewed this way and treated this way meaning massive changes are required, massive and impactful changes. There is no nice way to talk yourself out of this Dogfight now ok....just Man Up in a new way with Jack Campbell and more Vets and start swinging back.

    • @willp9226
      @willp9226 2 месяца назад +2

      Agreed, so true. Campbell should never have been sent down, in my opinion. The entire team was playing poorly due to coaching. Knoblauch made a world of difference, obviously.
      Still, they could turn it around this series, and give themselves a chance. Their coaching staff has to recognize and convey to the players that those pass attempts through an opposing player don't work most of the time. And they're high risk when in your own zone.
      But its even worse when the Oilers are in the opposing zone, and they try those low success passes through Florida's slot area. Florida has two to three players waiting to pick off those passes, and break out to the Oiler's zone.
      As a result the Oiler's offense don't score. They need to stop that pass, and shoot on net, hoping for a rebound if they don't score. And be set up for the rebound to take advantage of it. Or, hope for a goalie stoppage and ensuing offensive zone faceoff. And then repeat, shoot, rebound, shoot or stuff puck in net. Hopefully.

      @@willp9226 Those are solid suggestions. The hard fact is that unless drastic measures are taken no drastic changes to the expected results will happen. This would be the time for change for the sake of change itself. Its is clearly a System issue and the Oilers do not seem to understand what is happening to them when they completely change their approach over 2 games but still get smothered defensively. In fairness Knoblauch is a raw green NHL Rookie Coach and so is Paul Coffey so we must consider the investment in their learning curves.

      @@BobsUruncle-dl7cs Yeah, they need to make changes for sure. They've done well to get to the finals. But they need to stop smoking the 'hopium' and change it up big time for the two games in Edmonton and beyond. Hoping the goal scorers will start scoring don't work. It's obvious they need an adjustment.

      Just want to mention this LA was down 3-0 to San Jose in 2014 and came back to win. Anaheim was down 2-0 to Edmonton in 2017 and came back to win. Boston was down 2-0 to Vancouver in 2011 and came back to win. Vegas was down 2-0 to Dallas last year and came back to win. It’s not over stop thinking negatively and be more positive. So Florida kicks our asses in their home barn okay now we do the same to them in our barn and tie the series. It’s 2 games out of a possible 7 everyone needs to chill and be positive the boys need us to rally for them not be negative towards them. I don’t know if you guys forget but the entire team minus like 4 guys it’s there first time in the finals. Let’s just be happy they are here and cheer them on. Yes I’m aware if Edmontons going to win the cup they need to win a road game so they will have to figure it out in Florida but the series is far from over. Let’s go oilers.

    Draisaitl should be suspended. He left his feet and delivered an elbow to the head - resulting in what appears to be a serious injury to Florida’s best player. If this happened to McDavid Oilers fans would be outraged. One game suspension minimum.

      It all started with Bennett's illegal hit on McDavid. Which was a flying punch to his face. The same illegal hit Bennett did to Marchand. Florida plays dirty. Edmonton plays clean unless you play to injure. Just look at how clean the Dallas-Edmonton series was, almost no penalties.
