Whistle Train Your Beagle For Awesome Recall

Whistles were made for beagles! If you want to eventually be able to let your beagle have the freedom of off lead walks then whistle training is for you.
Voice commands don’t always work as dogs are clever and can sense fear or stress in your voice no matter how hard you try to disguise it.
But a whistle is just a whistle. And if you get your beagle to associate this as an extremely positive thing they will come back 99% of the time.
I’d love to say 100% but we own beagles! Strong scents and exciting dogs are sometimes too much. But I find if you keep blowing every 10 seconds or so, eventually their brains kick in.
Also, if you do have a beagle who runs off after a scent then the whistle can be used as a homing beacon. Once they have run a mile or so they need to be able to get back to you. A dog whistle can carry a mile or so and through strong winds, whereas you voice command will get swallowed up in strong winds.
