There is no impossible dog to be trained. Most people give up training the dog either just before they get some results or because they don't use the correct method of training. For a beagle I highly suggest using play & praise reward system which you can learn all about it by watching the following videos and practicing them for about 15-20 minutes a day for 3 months. ruclips.net/video/2CvtFcNJTuM/видео.html
when we first got our beagle at 4months old we had a really hard time training her..we hired a professional trainer, took literally 5min to have her doing whatever the trainer wanted.
You can tell you are a wonderful Beagle daddy and trainer! Thank you for this video! Beagles are THE best dog breed. Mine is 11.5 years young. He has been the most amazing family pet. We love him so much!

Thank you so much! Just adopted a 7 weeks old Beagle a week ago and i must say Beagle is so clever! My baby already pee and poo above her potty pad only after 2 times of correction. She also on learning "leave it", "stay" and "sit" now. I also walk her with leash and she already comfortable to potty outside too (only once a day because her vaccination isn't complete). I really love her, Beagle has a cheerful and bright personality even sometimes she's naughty as hell, she still incredibly cute.
Saro Boghozian yea, but they are just dogs. Hey, how about vitamin supplements? I've noticed some behavior that suggest Dolly is not getting all the vitamins and minerals she needs.
I highly suggest adding some forms of supplements, vitamins and minerals to the dog's diet. I am not sure, I understand what Dolly's behaviour has to do with supplements. Can you clarify the question?
Saro Boghozian eating dirt and grass and such. She get ground Chuck and also baked chicken mixed with her pure Ballance chicken kibble. No gmo no grain

I am so impressed with my beagle and the way that she is totally & completely scent driven. On a leash, she can go from totally still to 100 miles an hour in split second. She is so beautiful and it is very impressive to me. I almost feel bad because she isn’t getting to do what she really wants to do in this life.
Thank you man! I've adopted a beagle "puppy" (well she is 1.5 year now) 3 months ago from abusing home (only locked in bathroom or on balcony, no play, beating, feeding only with human food, no walks - terrible). With that i have huge problems with training (it's not helping at all, that she's so happy about new home, and it's extremely inteligent dog). I've discovered, that food is great motivation, but it's still hard. You helped me (us) a lot. Thx!
That is great. Thank you for adopting and helping your beagle. It is very hard to help a dog that had a bad experience previously. I'd love to help you out as much as I can. Thank you for this video I went to pick out my first beagle today can’t pick her up until Jan 11th have to wait until she is 6 weeks old she’s about 4 weeks old right now have a name for her already am thinking Bailey! Also was thinking of Mia Mi-A
Mines just hit 1 year old. Sits, lays down, stays, paws and has been off leash with me for around 2 months. Only thing I'm struggling with is food guarding but it has got better and better with time. Bloody Beagle. Gotta love him x
Food guarding in dogs is a sensitive issue. It has to do mainly due to the situation that your puppy has been when very young trying to get food from his mom. I explain more and show what to do in the following video. ruclips.net/video/jYU2fsj6iqA/видео.html
I have never actually used a leash on my Beagle, in large closed parks that is. The first time I took her out, she was about 10 weeks old. She does go around sniffing or runs to another dog to play, but eventually she always comes back especially when she sees that I'm quiet far away so I never worry. But I do recommend using a leash whenever you can't be within closed areas
I have a Beagle/Border Collie puppy. She's 6 mos. Beagles are wonderful dogs. However! She has selective hearing. She is a car chaser. Im am very thankful for finding your channel Saro. I wouldn't ever give up on my girl butI know beagles are much different and needs specific training needs.
Thank you for subscribing to my channel. I know exactly what you mean. It's not easy but it is possible. I have another video where I talk and show how to train a beagle to be off leash which I think you will benefit from it. Please watch it and let me know if you have any questions. ruclips.net/video/9HBONWBPYNQ/видео.html
We have adopted a four year old Beagle, he is cute and smart........and in just under two months he no longer barks while we are eating at the table. He is so smart and eager to please. But still try’s to clear the table if I don’t ! Thank you for your video 🐶
Thank you for this video. I am encouraged that’s it’s ok to put a beagle on leash for the first year. I try to remove our beagle’s leash while in the room because I feel he is not free but he gets pretty uncontrolled. Thanks again.
Hi mr Saro i very much liked your advices tips essential notes but i feel that you are an Armenian , i'm from lebanon & an armenian mother from armenian family have a cute beagle our first dog his nearly four months old , we love him very much he's soo smart cute active . I subscribed to your channel & wait for new advices tnx for your channel it's so helpful to us😍😃🐶🐕

We just got a 8 weeks old male beagle. Very excited and ready to learn anything useful for us and our beagle. Please give some advises, especially on potty training. Thanks.
My Beagle was dumped near where I live in the country about 2 years ago. He was very shy and nobody could catch him. Finally he dug under my fence to get in the yard with my Collie and Ibizan Hound. He was afraid of loud noises and sudden movements and had a scar where it looked like he had been kicked. But he was glossy and in good weight. He was almost a year old. He wouldn’t come near us but after a month he was coming in the house thru the dog door and letting us feed and pet him. He gets along with the cats. As he gets more confidence he suddenly is able to do things he couldn’t do before. Last year he couldn’t walk on a leash and now he can. He can sit when asked, and come inside when called. My roommate is a Collie person and says she never thought she would love a Beagle. My other dogs were ten years old and he gave them a new interest in life. I usually got my dogs at seven or eight weeks of age and they learned so fast. What should I know about training a 3 year old Beagle.
Thank you for opening your heart to your beagle. I am sure she is thankful for that. I'd like you to watch few videos taht I am going to share with you here. Watch this first: ruclips.net/video/4ExtBoeIVvE/видео.html
I loved tethering my dog with me. They loved it too and really forms a bond. I should have had that done with other family members but they seem to feel close with them too.
Great video. I am getting a female Beagle puppy (9 weeks) in late August. Getting house ready - and I firmly believe in leash training and leash training the dog constantly in the 1st year. There's no question that virtually all dogs as puppies do so well over time with leash training - which leads to making the training on everything else much easier.
I have a beagle Husky mix and she is definitely my little girl I love her so much. And she is an escape artist she hates being left alone and she will unlock any door she comes to sometimes she's just aggravating but I love her.
Most dogs and puppies do not like to be left alone because they are social animals and want and need to bond with humans. Watch the following video to learn more. ruclips.net/video/p5OzcjCgYJ8/видео.html If your dog is having a hard time coping with being alone, you need to teach it and do some training. I explain it all in the following video.ruclips.net/video/WHptv68h6kE/видео.html
Thank you so much for subscribing. I have many more videos planned for future where I show and teach "play & praise" reward dog training system. Please let me know if you have nay questions.
Saro Boghozian I am struggling to teach my Beagle to pee outside at night. She has a doggy door so allways has access to huge back-yard. Its ok in summer but its currently winter and she refuses to go outside when its cold at night. I started buying puppy training pads again....she is 2 years old.
I even go outside with her at night and she knows the word "piepie". Im Afrikaans from South Africa. She simply refuses ( when she gets it right I praise her and reward her with a tiny snack.) She is extremely stubborn like most Beagles! I have been a Beagle owner since I was 2 years old...so 39 years of them.
I have a beagle dog in Japan. In Japan, it is legally prohibited to let your dog off the lead except in dog runs. And in Japan, beagles are not a very popular breed because they bark a lot. I have always loved Snoopy from Peanuts, and it was my dream to own a beagle. She is very gentle and smart and does not bark needlessly. Please continue to spread the goodness of beagles.
Welcome to the channel. That is so interesting. I have travelled to Japan few times and I know the culture of the dogs there. I have not seen any misbehaving dogs in Japan on the streets at least. It really shows that how upbringing and the family and society structure could be effecting the dog's behaviour. We fell in love with Snoopy as well which led us to beagles as well. Thank you so much for sharing your feedback.
Hi, i have a beagle girl, Julie. She is a fantastic girl, but with her own character and temperment. Lovely and kind buy very stubborn. Sometimes she pretends that she can heat us with my husband but mostly it is at the evening and night. She is going to be turning 5 years old in august. I can co fidently can say that i can off leash her now and she is coming back to us when called. Although, sometimes i have to shout out several times as she is stubborn and following her nose wherever she wants. She knows her commands but sometimes she is stubborn and can do them but it is difficult as she is truying to say to me, i will do it when you will ask me but not always and when i am in the mood for it. Your videos are helping me but not every single beagle is the same and some of training that can help some beagle parents wont work always for others and needs specific and different straregy, but thank you anyways
You are very welcome. I know for fact that most beagle (dog) owners tend to feel that their dog is special and different than others. Don't get me wrong, they are all unique individuals but dogs have a limited or the same anatomy. You can implement a proven system to them and get great results. As long as you implement the same, proven method of dog training instead of trying various methods temporarily as testing the method and look for another method that may work. That is when a dog owner invest time and energy in finding and testing a method rather than executing a proven method. My dog training method has been proven to be effective with great results as long as you invest in it and not just try it to see if it works.
He 1 year 5 months, he has so much energy and loves being chased. I thinking of him as wanting to cause caos. The tip of the leash in home has been helpful 👍. We are still learning so about his kind, we didn’t realize he was going to be so energetic. My friend has a bulldog same age and she said her dog is so lazy, not hyper like mi beagle.
I just got a rescue beagle (foster to adopt) he’s 1-2yrs old. With consistent training do you think it’s possible to be able to off leash him eventually and have him well trained? Or have I missed that important puppy training time. He’s very stubborn, nose to the ground and leash frustrated when he sees other dogs (barking/howls/lunges). I know they can be harder to train so I’m a bit worried about his age and not having had early training.
First off, I want to say that you're absolutely capable of developing the relationship and behavior you want with your dog, but it’s important to keep expectations realistic, especially when working with a rescue. When adopting a dog, it might take a bit more time, patience, and effort to see progress compared to other situations. While many dogs can show great results after a year of training, with rescues, the journey might look a little different. Another thing to consider is your beagle’s personality. Some dogs, due to their characteristics and temperament, may not be suited for off-leash walks-especially if they have strong instincts to explore or hunt. Also, keep in mind that many rescue dogs come with heightened levels of stress and anxiety, feeling a bit lost or confused from their past experiences. A huge part of their progress depends on how you help them navigate those emotions. With your patience and care, you can certainly help reduce your dog’s anxiety, but it's important to be gentle with yourself in the process, too. If you ever feel stuck or need some extra guidance, I’d love to help. You can set up a free video call with me where we can chat about your goals, and I can provide some realistic and judgment-free advice! Here's the link to book a call: sarodogtraining.com/. Looking forward to helping you and your pup!
About The leash, if your dog is playing around with dogs(in a safe area), don’t just make it come to you and take it in a leash every time, give it a reward(like let it keep playing some more, or a treat, or some praise). If you don’t, you will be boring and The dog won’t be so likely to come to you JUST to be taken in a leash. But hey, great video and all! (:
Thank you and great question. If your beagle is playing and you call it to come there is a chance that he/she may not come which in turn teaches your beagle to learn not to come. The play session is way higher reward than anything at that moment. It is better and safer not to risk training unwanted behaviour and just leash when the game stops. Also, the reward for a great walking etiquette could be the playing with the dogs at the park. Hope that made sense and helps.
My partner and I adopted a 1yo beagle 3 months ago as our first dog. We definitely weren't prepared for how full on he would be but even in that short time he's shown a fair improvement. I've only watched a couple of your videos so far but I've learnt a lot already! This will be a massive help in understanding his behaviour and learning about being a dog owner in general so cheers! We also have a 5yo cat and haven't had any success in having them in the same room yet. Any advice on that?
So cute, reminds me of a better behaved Bertie!!! Saying that, he s pretty good, can take him anywhere with no problems, is not aggressive to other dogs, people etc, it's just the rubbish eating that gets me!!! And the demanding attention!!!! Love him to bits tho. Had skin allergies so put Sudocrem on his spots at 11am every day, trained him to lie on his back to do so, One day I was in local garden centre paying at till, heard kid behind me say, Daddy what is that funny doggie doing,? he was on his back waiting for Sudocrem, I checked time, smack on 11am, unbelievable!!! Couldn't stop laughing, and yes, started writing a book on him
I love the way you train! I’ve started with training sessions, but his attention is only good for 5 min….. and he does very well but then during the day he forgets everything, is that normal?
Thank you. No. That is because you are not training it the way your dog learns. A blind can lead a blind. You need to invest time, money, and energy to learn what you need to know in order to be able to teach. You can't teach what you don't know. If you are willing to invest, try my online training course to get started. sarodogtraining.com/courses/
Hi! I loved your video and wanted to know if you have any suggestions for me. I m about to adopt a beagle from a medical research facility to give that little hero a forever home love and family. Those dogs have never seen the outside world so i know it is going to be challenging . I would really appreciate if you had any pointers on how to properly train our new family member! Thank you in advance!!
Yes it does but then the beagle does not pay attention to you but to the food. That is not what we want. We want the beagle t pay attention to us without using anything. It is possible. Using treats also can cause health issues. I suggest you to watch the following video, if possible. ruclips.net/video/S2DulURA41w/видео.html
I'm on my third beagle. All of them have been very good and well behaved. When it comes to training I go with the important things first. Answering to their name or at least stopping is high on the list, stay off the bed/couch not so much. My present girl had little interest in learning tricks, but will lay down, stop and answer a call unfailingly. Still having a treat in my hand for when she is finished piddles and potties is expected.
Yep, get off the treats, almost impossible for me now altho he did listen to me today when I didn't shout at him, kept calm like Saro said and he did drop some poop he had picked up so thanx for that
beagle is very good breed obedient and play ful u have to keep eye on the naughtiest dog as they tend to get depressed when neglect i havenot leased my burney since childhood she is one year old now she listens to everything she is darling
That is amazing. Not many beagle or dog owners can say that. One tip that I have for you is, since you have a good beagle make sure to do your part to help your beagle to become a great dog.
My parents never had a dog. My mother has depression so they decided that a pet was a great idea. He really helped her. It's almost 5 years that she's fine and she loves him, but they really did not train him and he was aggressive with her more than once, but I fear is too late now to train him...
I need to know how to rehabilitate a you have billitate a dog who's been abused abused physically and mentally and mentally I look forward to hearing from you
@@SaroDogTraining essentially being able to train this breed without the use of bribing, clickers etc. We are excited to be getting a purebred 15" male beagle puppy on May 10th, 2019! We would like to use your training videos if there are any for this specific breed. Thank you !
I do. Most of my videos are inspired by training beagles. You can watch the following videos which are specifically for beagles: ruclips.net/video/N5CzYl_xG0k/видео.html but since you will be bringing your puppy home in a few days, I suggest you watch this video first. ruclips.net/video/2eea46MSqSM/видео.html
That may be either for play or is becoming protective or possessive. So, I suggest to work on it now before it gets worse or develops to other unwanted behaviours. Watch the following video and see how I teach the dog to be not very possessive of food. ruclips.net/video/jYU2fsj6iqA/видео.html
Teach him stay before eating or giving anything to him. Also teach a verbal cue to respond to your corrections if he makes a mistake like being possessive or growls. Watch the following video to learn. ruclips.net/video/jYU2fsj6iqA/видео.html
I have looked to rescue a Beagle Hound Basset Mix and look to train her as a CPTSD EMS Service Dog and Medical Alert for Hypoglycemia Hypoklimea which my Coon Kelpie Transylvania Hound mix is able to do. Can a Beagle Hound Basset Mix become a Service Dog?
Hello! Your video was very informative! Thank you so much for this one. I would love to get a Beagle. I have a question. Can Beagles survive on solely vegetarian diet? I’m a pure vegetarian and wouldn’t prefer getting meat in the house.
Not at all. Dogs and beagles diet needs to contain at least 75% meat. That is what this species needs and you need to feed it meat. If you are not willing to feed it meat and can't have meat in your home, either don't get a dog or change your faith.
@@SaroDogTraining Okay, thank you! So can we get packaged meat gravy or maybe non-vegetarian dog food instead of raw meat which we’d have to cook? That will do. Will the gravy mixed with rice or dry dog food be sufficient for the Beagle?
Thank you so much for watching. Please watch the following video starting at 37.25 mark where I explain how to do the fetch or to bring something. You can start teaching first with the ball and then move it to anything else. ruclips.net/video/vbUuXPvNXw0/видео.htmlm26s
Good day sir! As adviced from your other videos, Beagles can’t be left alone, and needs another Beagle as his companion. I’d like to know if they’d get along well with Dachshunds? We have 3 dachshunds and I’m about to adopt a Beagle this Christmas. I hope you’ll notice my comment. Thank you Saro! Your videos surely will help us a lot! ❤️

Hi thanks for the videos you have. i really want to train my pet beagle. he is only 2 months old, he always want to bite our hands and feet, and he is too stubborn. whenever we stop him from bitting or chewing things. do we need to wait for him to be 3 months old before we could train him?
No. You start with basic puppy training program. Start now and if you like my method and philosophy, take advantage of the Black Friday sale happening now and join my online puppy training course to learn how to train your puppy properly. sarodogtraining.com/courses/puppy-training-101/
I really enjoy your non food-based training methods!I have a question.Everybody says that basset hounds are not trainable. Is that true or they need a different approach?
All dogs learn the same way. With either using play and praise or both. The dogs that are considered stubborn, just tend to have dog owners who are not clear with their dogs when training or giving commands. For more information please watch the following video. ruclips.net/video/7S-auNX7k8k/видео.html
Thank you so much. Yes, beagles are bred in two varieties of sizes beside the pocket size beagles. Most clubs recognize both sizes but not the pocket size beagles.
We just added a 8 week old beagle to our family. We adore him. I’m a little concerned as he’s not wanting to eat really so I’m getting him into the vet ASAP.
I got my baby beagle 2 weeks ago and I was having the same problem the first few days. the breeder I got her from mentioned that she might not eat the first few days bc of stress and such of a new home. She's got a hearty appetite now and she's amazing. Good luck!

She is so beautiful and it is very impressive to me. I almost feel bad because she isn’t getting to do what she really wants to do in this life.
You will have to learn to control her and she needs to learn to live the way you want her to live. That takes time and lots of work on both sides.
Sky is soo adorable!! I have an 8 year old beagle and have to say he’s the most loving dog I’ve ever had❤️🐶
Wow, that dog is so in love with you. Beagles are just wonderful.
I love her too. Thank you for watching.
I'd die for my Beagles. Love them to bits!
Great video. Beagle is adorable ! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for watching. Please let me know if you have any questions about your puppy.

Please let me know if you have nay questions. Also, I suggest you to watch the following videos. ruclips.net/video/lciImRFwQgM/видео.html

Great video. Also, very good advice. Thx much. Love beagles!
Thank you so much. I love dogs and beagles. They are my faviourites.
I'm adopting a 3 year old bocker (beagle and cocker mix). This is going to help plenty. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
We have adopted a four year old Beagle, he is cute and smart........and in just under two months he no longer barks while we are eating at the table. He is so smart and eager to please. But still try’s to clear the table if I don’t !
Thank you for your video 🐶
Typical beagle.
Thank you for this video. I am encouraged that’s it’s ok to put a beagle on leash for the first year. I try to remove our beagle’s leash while in the room because I feel he is not free but he gets pretty uncontrolled. Thanks again.
You can do it! It is just matter of mind set.

Very nice your For beagle I like it very much . 👍👌
Thanks for liking.
You are very good with dogs! Great work!
Thank you so much for your feedback. That means a lot to me.
For sure. Limit the freedom and your puppy will be less stressed.
I love beagle. The best dog ever.
Just adopted my first beagle so sweet so awesome.
That is awesome! How old is your beagle and what is it's name?
I’m getting my first beagle pup next weekend 🐶🐶

I have a beagle Husky mix and she is definitely my little girl I love her so much. And she is an escape artist she hates being left alone and she will unlock any door she comes to sometimes she's just aggravating but I love her.
Most dogs and puppies do not like to be left alone because they are social animals and want and need to bond with humans. Watch the following video to learn more. ruclips.net/video/p5OzcjCgYJ8/видео.html If your dog is having a hard time coping with being alone, you need to teach it and do some training. Any advice on training hunting beagles or where to find information?
It is not my specialty but you can do a quick search on Google and find information about it.
Play and praise reward system! Love it , uses it daily on my 2 year old Beagle, Judy. Thank you, Sir. New subscriber. #respect
She sleeps in the house in her own bed x
There has been no chances in our household not even furniture moved.
Great knowledge dear she is lovely
Thanks a lot.
My beagles name is snoopy too!
Thank you for giving my beagle hope
You are so welcome. How old is it?

The beagle in this video was cute! Thanks for the video by the way, it’ll help out! 👍
You are so kind. Thank you.
I am going to get a Beagle soon thanks this helped
thank you for sharing this with us!!! your beagle is so so cute!!
Thank you!! 😊 You are so welcome.
I have beagles. They are the most amazing dogs. ❤️😂
Couldn't stop laughing, and yes, started writing a book on him
Thank you so much! Glad I found your channel

@@SaroDogTraining thank you!
Energetic, intelligent and lovable dog breed.
I agree. Thank you for watching.
5 months and older. Please watch the following video for more info. ruclips.net/video/ERvfydL3ISA/видео.html
Thankyou sir🙏🏻
Wow ur really good at training I have a beagle mix
That is awesome! Thank you.
Holding food in your hands helps hold a beagle's attention. ;o)
Got that right my beagle eats everything, makes me laff and what she tries to scoff
That works for me too
Yep, get off the treats, almost impossible for me now altho he did listen to me today when I didn't shout at him, kept calm like Saro said and he did drop some poop he had picked up so thanx for that
beagle is very good breed obedient and play ful u have to keep eye on the naughtiest dog as they tend to get depressed when neglect i havenot leased my burney since childhood she is one year old now she listens to everything she is darling
It is never too late to get started to train a dog.
Thnx helped alot

I have a question wen I give my puppy Beagle chew toys and and chewey treats he get aggressive wen I go near him.😞
That may be either for play or is becoming protective or possessive. So, I suggest to work on it now before it gets worse or develops to other unwanted behaviours. Watch the following video and see how I teach the dog to be not very possessive of food. ruclips.net/video/jYU2fsj6iqA/видео.html
I agree could you give me some information how too😏
Teach him stay before eating or giving anything to him.
Yes, as long as it is trained from the puppy age.
Excellent
Thank you so much 😀.
The food needs to contain meat. You can feed kibble. That is the safest choice for your dog and your lifestyle.
I have 2 raggle puppies. They are 4 months old. Will these training tips work for them?
Yes, it will.
Today my cousins beagle came ay my home for a week at I can't wait to try this

I have a coconut hound and now I have hope that I can train him.thankyou
You can do it!
Another great video. Did I read that right - they come in come in two sizes. 13" and 15"?
Thank you so much. Yes, beagles are bred in two varieties of sizes beside the pocket size beagles. Most clubs recognize both sizes but not the pocket size beagles.
Amazing!
We just added a 8 week old beagle to our family. We adore him. I’m a little concerned as he’s not wanting to eat really so I’m getting him into the vet ASAP.
Please let us know the results. Praying!
I got my baby beagle 2 weeks ago and I was having the same problem the first few days. the breeder I got her from mentioned that she might not eat the first few days bc of stress and such of a new home. She's got a hearty appetite now and she's amazing. Good luck!
That is a great advise. Most dog owners don't count the stress portion of a dog's life and how important it is to consider that.
