final chorus be like: *POWER METAL RANGERS ASSEMBLE*
Yeah Joakim calling them was beautiful and epic, he's the real king of metal for me
Q
You need to see Sabatons "En Livstid I Krig" (Live - The Great Tour - Gothenburg) with Subtitles. If that won't send chills down your spine nothing will.
I second that
@@markusjongren4098 second again,, does that mean its four times as good?
this one is just magic
@@infokrigarn yes, I'm pretty sure it does
I was there it was the most mind blowing thing I have ever lived out
Huge shoutout to the Sabaton pyro guy for seeing Amaranthes rough vocalist still up on the platform and NOT blasting the pyro at the end of the live show, that coulda ended real poorly
As TankTheTech likes to say, a good pyro guy is the one who knows when *not* to press that button. :-)
@@jakebronner2371 same thing I was thinking haha
@@jakebronner2371 When you're working with Sabaton, you don't get many opportunities to not press that button.
@@robinisomaa That was a honour for him, he or she did something epic
They didnt have pyro ready for songs from new album during the tour. The only songs with pyro were "old" songs.
yes Elize is a great singer. Did you know that for one night in Denver she filled in as the lead singer for Nightwish. You should check this out. The video is called the Denver Debacle and the tells the tale of how Anette Olzon was basically fired from Nightwish and replaced with Floor Jansen.
That video spoils most of the Nightwish Wacken 2013 concert.
@@DavidNSweeney Not for me.
Can someone summarise what happened?
@@CyberLink70 if I remember correctly from the "learn this setlist in 48h" documentary, Anette didn't show up to a few shows in the USA (I can't remember if she was sick or something), so Nightwish did a show with the audience singing the lyrics and one show with Elize Ryd (Amaranthe) and Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy, at the time I think she was in The Agonist) - that ended with Anette being fired and Floor Jansen being asked to come out of retirement and fill-in
thoumas must be a littel bit sorry now
Amaranthe did this cover as a tribute to Sabaton, they were touring together with Apocalyptica (what a show!) and wanted to show gratitude to their countrymen. From this same tour there is a Sabaton song 'Lejonet Fran Norden' sung in Swedish with Apocalyptica guesting on stage.
That was so awesome!😃🤘 I love Sabaton's colab with Apocalyptica! (And Amaranthe for that matter).
They also re-recorded Angels Calling with Apocalyptica i think
I saw The Great Tour in Helsinki a year ago. It was epic!
I had them in Antwerp. They were awesome to see. I just hoped that we could have gotten this. Apocalyptica was also awesome with the cellos joining in. The Price of a Mile was just amazing.
What a show it was indeed, saw them at Wembley in Feb.
*I highly recommend from AMARANTHE : "Viral", "BOOM!1", "Fearless", "Do Or Die" (feat. Angela Gossow), "The Nexus", "365",....*
Sabaton History channel is one of my favorites after discovering this band.
Another Sabaton song about an Airborne unit is "Screaming Eagles." It is about the 101st Airborne in WWII. Also, there is a classic film about SGT York, if you are interested.
82.nd wasn't an airborne unit when Alvin York served. That came later.
What film? I need to see it
@@darkiee69 thank you
When Sabaton where to release the song Attack of the Dead men (you really should listen to it) they let a Russian cover artist hear it and release it first in Russia before they did.
Later when they where touring in Moscow they had him with them on stage to perform it with them as well, so they mixed his Russian lyrics with Joakims English chorus it was brilliant.
I love the live version feat Radio Tapok!
Amaranthe was together on tour with Sabaton and performed that song together on stage. Pure awesomeness...
The live version with Sabaton and Amaranth is sooo great 🤘🤘
Sgt Alvin Yorks MoH citation:
After his platoon had suffered heavy casualties and 3 other noncommissioned officers had become casualties, Cpl. York assumed command. Fearlessly leading 7 men, he charged with great daring a machinegun nest which was pouring deadly and incessant fire upon his platoon. In this heroic feat the machinegun nest was taken, together with 4 officers and 128 men and several guns.
As a US Veteran this battle has always been an inspiration to me to push myself. Hearing 2 Swiss bands honoring an American hero....................
@@whirledpeaz5758 Swiss? :p
@@whirledpeaz5758They are Swedish
@@YT_Blitzshorts My drunken mistake.
I was there, looking back , this gig was just about three weeks before lockdown happened, so that was the last concert I've been to. It was awesome. They did this together only in Oslo, as it was the last night of the tour. Sabaton is one of the best live bands I've seen. And at the end of the show, Hannes (the drummer) threw me a drum head signed by all the guys from Sabaton. That now has its own special place on my wall 😁🤟
Nice!!!👍
Sabatons drummer is the husband of Floor Jansen lead singer of Nightwish. Her daughters name is Freya.
I saw these guys live in Helsinki, they accidentally got fire going on with their pyrotechnics had to twice take fire out while the band was still playing :D. Amaranthe is the usual warm-up band for Sabaton. One of the best combo song is with Apocalyptica. "Angels Calling" by Sabaton feat. Apocalyptica.
I live about 40 miles away from Alvin York's home. When i was in elementary school we had a field trip to his home turned museum. It was so neat when I first heard the song cause it brought back memories of that field trip
Never heard the version of them together before, that one is epic. You can just feel the energy through the screen! The reason why I still love to discover "new reactions" :D
Can't wait to see Sabaton live in 22 days
Such a great song that just sticks in your brain all week. I was there in Oslo when they played it live with Amaranthe singers! Was awesome :D
Great song! Great performance! Great reactions!
I live in Tennessee and have visited the Sgt. York home (State Park) a number of times, even met some of his family. He's one of Tennessee's favorite sons. Ya'll have an excellent channel!
🤘🤘 4singers in the end, epic :D 🤘🤘
I’m telling you guys gotta see sabaton history
love that channel
Absolutely watch the Sabaton History for more info that isn't in the song!
Your excitement is so contagious!!!
More Sabaton, please!
Alvin York was a real hero man. His story is just incredible and should not be forgotten.
Amaranthe does a lot of covers (besides their own stuff), and because they have 3 talented, and very different vocals, they can put their own spin on so many great songs, and still make it interesting and unique.
As someone both from Tennessee and who served in the 82nd this is one of my favorite songs for obvious reasons.
The 82nd got the AA patch because it had people from every state of the US in it and means All Americans.
Also the official motto is Airborne Leads the Way! And an officer returning your salute will respond with All the Way!
Obviously the division itself has a lot of history from being formed in WW1 to becoming an airborne unit for WW2 and having combat jumps from Italy to France.
People say it stands for Athletic Alcoholics aswell.
And if they are being send in, means you are in trouble because both Democrats and Republicans would agree on 1 thing, your ass has got to go.
Man I’m jealous, it’s like having a very select anthem.
I saw them live in January on Tour. Sabaton, Anarathe and Apocalyptica. What an awesome show. They also did a song together with Apocalyptica on the show called Angels calling. It's also worth to check out 😊
n October 1918, as a newly-promoted corporal, York was one of a group of seventeen soldiers assigned to infiltrate German lines and silence a machine gun position. After the American patrol had captured a large group of enemy soldiers, German small arms fire killed six Americans and wounded three. York was the highest ranking of those still able to fight, so he took charge. While his men guarded the prisoners, York attacked the machine gun position, killing several German soldiers with his rifle before running out of ammunition. Six German soldiers charged him with bayonets, and York drew his pistol and killed all of them. The German officer responsible for the machine gun position had emptied his pistol while firing at York but failed to hit him. This officer then offered to surrender and York accepted. York and his men marched back to their unit's command post with more than 130 prisoners. York was immediately promoted to sergeant and was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross; an investigation resulted in the upgrading of the award to the Medal of Honor. York's feat made him a national hero and international celebrity among allied nations.
I was front row in the live version.... It had been a long time since I got goosebumps all over.... but I chivered! That was a LEGEDARY moment!
Awesome reaction. We can tell you also love the music! Thanks for doing the three together.
One of the things I've seen in the Euro market is the bands all seem to work together much more than American bands. I wonder if that is because they don't have the pressure from the record companies that the American based bands do.
Be sure to check out the collabs with the band Epica and Floor Jansen of Nightwish (e.g., Sancta Terra, Sabat Mater Delarosa) as an example. Or the Ayeron project which brings tons of singers and performers together to do rock operas (The Day the World Break Down). I believe there are 15 guest performers in this song.
i second that, Ayreon is awesome, its the who is who of modern rock and prog. music and that song features all 11 (eleven!!!) main singers and other musicians.... here is the link, you may thank me later ruclips.net/video/oFuMKdrzPqU/видео.html
I was there. It was one of the best concerts I've ever been to :) In Oslo, Norway. The last show on the tour
We be jealous! Ha ha!
Me too. Watching it now really makes me miss that concert. I've been to about 10 Sabaton concerts and this was by far the best! Also, the better version of the three is the last. I like the vocals from Amaranthe, but I prefer the melody from Sabaton.
Lucky bastard lol
Lol sooo jealous now XD
Amaranthe was the opening act for Sabaton during large parts of their latest tour, so they know each other well. And they're all Swedes, of course :-))
Another great reaction! Love the concept behind Sabaton. The amount of information about war history that this band passes through their music is outstanding. They also have a channel of documentaries based on their songs.
I loved this reaction too. The lighting was fine. Live is definitely best. I keep coming back to this reaction - your enthusiasm and the quality of the performances are addictive.
At the beginning of the amaranth version you hear a pre recording, that was from the black and white movie Sgt. York when he's on the rifle range
Symphonic Metal artists know and often work with each other. Elize Ryd the current female lead singer for Amaranthe
was one of the temporary lead singers for the band Kamelot when they toured as the front band for Nighwish right at
the time when Nightwish was dropping Anette. Elize had previously a few years earlier tried out for the lead for
Nightwish but they settled on Anette.
Elize was turned down for being too young at the time, only 15, but she learned a bunch of Nightwish songs from that
audition. For one night in Denver in 2012 she did become the lead singer for Nightwish at the last minute as an
emergency replacement to fill in right after she had done a full set for Kamelot. Thus it could be said that
Nightwish has had 4 female lead singers. So one of the notable events at the Denver 2012 Nightwish concert was a future
Amaranthe singer singing the song "Amaranthe" for Nightwish.
Do not watch the Denver 2012 Nightwish concert videos until you have seen most of the Nightwish 2013 Wacken concert
or you will be spoiled. The Nightwish 2012 Denver concert (you can find the set list of songs online) was as Elize
said, a very special event. Another highlight of that show was Jukka the drummer playing a strange instrument called
"the box". The best Amaranthe song for me is found by Googling for "Amaranthe Wedding", a rerelease of their song
"Endlessly".
If I'm not mistaken Alissa White-Gluz also filled in on some songs in Denver bringing it up to 5
why would they be spoiled for 2013 Wacken?
Another amazing reaction, from two amazing persons.
Love from Sweden 😁🌹
Aah thank you soooo much!
You gotta watch Sabaton performing "40 to 1" live at the Polish Woodstock. A song about Polish valor sung to thousands of Poles. Very cool!
This live show was from Oslo, Norway. (The "Night witches video" you reacted to, was from Leipzig, Germany). It was the only show on the European tour they played this song with Amaranthe. And guess what?!😉 I was in that crowd, right in front of the stage!😃🤘 Great reaction, btw!🤘
The Sabaton and Rammstein crews do a wonderful job when it comes to stage awareness. Could you imagine how absolutely nuts the metal world would get if those two absolutely kick ass bands toured every continent together?!
Man that would be totally awesome 🤘🤘
@@SongsandThongs Ad Nightwish to that. The funny thing is that two Swedish band has song about civil war in America. Where might fight Europeans against each other. No it was Republicans and Democrati.... well two parti system + Donald Trump the land is divided... And yes Trump is only 4 year younger than Biden
Longing so much for your next Sabaton or Amaranthe reaction. The 2 reactions I have seen so far has been absolutely great!!!!
Joakim going up by himself then calling them back up just shouts, "No, my friends, join me!"
I was there. So much fun to see youre reaction 🤘
The story of sgt York is an amazing display of the will people can have in terrible surcumstances he was a total badass
Elize Ryd, singer in Amaranthe, did apply for the job as singer in Nightwish after Tarja was fired. Tuomas liked her, but thought she was to young to handle all the crap he knew would be coming. But she did get to sing with them, together with Alissa White-Gluz (Arch enemy) when Anette got sick during the world tour. They where both in Kamelot at the time, who was opening for Nightwish. Elize and Alissa sung the song they knew, Marko sang the rest. It's known as the Denver debacle. When Anette said she couldn't perform that night and was taken to hospital it was to late to cancel, the people was already there. Tuomas and Troy went on stage and asked the audience if they should cancel, or if they should improvise with the girls from Kamelot. The audience was all for the improvisation. And when Floor did her first show with the band all three of Kamelots singers came on stage and surprised her in "Last ride of the day" the last song of the set.
Elize and Alissa are massively in my good books for the way they stepped up and pulled that show off. It's far from perfect and quite hilarious to be sure, but still. The entire documentary is just astonishing in the way that it shows just how mental the entire situation was.
14:22 Someone forgot to move back, creating a dangerous situation. 14:25 he's reminded. When the screen goes black it's because there should've been pyro right there. The tech saw what was going on and didn't fire it.
Back in my day there were two band colabs that changed music and attitudes. RUNDMC with Aerosmith - Walk this way, and Public Enemy with Anthrax - Bring the Noise. Love you guys great vids
U guys are on the rise! I am honored to tag along your journey
Sabaton is the bulk of my work mix. They keep me pumped up for my 10 hour shifts
Mine is heavy on Sabaton and Hammerfall. They toured together about a year ago and we got to see that one.
the last video you guys showed i was in oslo on that concert and it was the best show i ever been to
I get so happy watching you both and you're energy. 😃👏
Lol, I have never seen such a wholesome reaction. They loved it!
NICE!!! I was accually there (on the live concert) and it was so damn heavy. Both are Swedish bands, and yeah they are both awesome! :)
I was there Live. It was awsome, 82end all the way! Oslo 2020
Elize just makes me smile. So charismatic. 🙂
*Sabaton are always good for surprises. Like when they announced the single release of "Fields of Verdun" for May 3rd, 2019.....but released on their own YT-channel on May 1st, 2019 the "Fields of Verdun" [cover-version] performed by the finnish inventors of "Cello Rock [/Metal]" , ApocalypticA.*
Heres some free chicken about the 82nd, All The Way is the Unit's Motto and Sergeant Alvin C. York is one of the many well known members of the Airborne unit.
For reference, the 82nd refers to the 82nd Army Division which later became the 82nd Army Airborne in WW2. Originally they used the motto "82nd All the way" but changed to "Death from above" when they became an airborne division (paratroopers). The AA patch still used by the division refers to All Americans and refers to the division having members from all 48 states when it was originally comprised in WW1.
I like the last version. You got the three singers of Amaranthe doing the verses while the guitarists of Sabaton join in the chorus. I really hope they make a studio version of that last one.
Your video looks fine, don't worry about the lighting, it worked out great. I don't mind that you mispronounced it before you heard anybody say it out loud. That is fine and you corrected yourself after you heard it. That was very respectful of you. Well done! I love this entire video! You two are great!
Your best all time reaction.💖
Yeahhhhh... we need more sabaton and nightwish!!!! Cheers from argentina!!!
You must see Sabaton at a live concert to get a true feeling for the music and the fan participation. A First Class act from beginning to end.
I cannot wait to see Soldier of Heaven live. It will be as incredible as 40 to 1 in Poland.
The guy with the glasses in yhe Amaranthe video is thier producer Jakob Hansen who is also the producer for Volbeat. Also the blond guitarist from Sabaton is the lead singer of a band called Majestica and they have just released a christmas album with to videos you should react to now that its soon december. oh and Joakim from Sabaton has done a song with Baby Metal called OH! Majina.
Some suggestions to listen to:
Meshuggah - Bleed
Amon Amarth - Twilight of the Thunder God
In Flames - Embody the invisible
Arch Enemy - Nemesis
Band Maid - Onset
Ladybaby - Nippon manju
You should check out the Sabaton History Channel. And you should check out the band Kamelot. Elize from Amaranthe has done some work with them as well. And yes, Amaranthe has three vocalists. Good job from Norway!
I love the way Sabaton can show respect to a band that covers their own song. A mutual respect not often seen in the industry.
Just finished watching the video you recorded of "Popular Monster" some while back and was highly impressed. Certainly not the usual reaction video, kudos for pulling through and uploading it even though it must have been terribly difficult for you. Also, thank you for describing in no uncertain terms what that condition feels like on the inside. I hope that I'm never going to have to be able to spot it myself, but in case I do, I'm now better equipped than I was before.
Now, you might ask, why is he commenting on /here/ instead of, you know, /there/? It's because I didn't think it would fit the overall topic of the other video very well, which is why I put it here under your most recent video. One of the things you said in that video was about how you like to dress differently and how people look at you strange because of it, and that reminded me of the song "We Are The Others" by Delain (ruclips.net/video/Aor3ObNq2Pw/видео.html; symphonic metal). It is a tribute to Sophie Lancaster who was assaulted because she looked different and dressed different, and that's the connection to your comment. The song a hopeful, positive anthem for all of us out there who also are social outsiders or different in some other way. The backstory behind the song is here on Wikipedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Sophie_Lancaster.
Great reaction ! Great selection of songs !
Regs from Sabaton land - Sweden/Kent
Well and funny done 😀 Thumbs up! 👍
I have pretty much zero coordination so I don't play instruments, but I do LOVE Guitar music! I don't know the ins-and-outs because I don't play (so I do not even pretend to know what I am talking about), but a lot of what you say makes sense for me because I can visualize very well. In my youth I was able to keep a beat so at one point I might have tried to become a drummer. We just did not have money for instruments, teachers or practice so I cannot say that I am actually musical at all. But I really appreciate being able to listen. So, good for you, that you are able to play and afford things to further yourself, to be able to make music. PLEASE cherish these facts about your life and never take any of it for granted. You're awesome! Keep at it!
I was at the Sabaton concert in Frankfurt on January 31st there was Amaranthe supporting act among others.
Amaranthe archangel you guys need to react to next
Great video guys. I love that you did all 3 . Thanks guys... keep up the great work
Dude, amazing reaction for Amaranthe. This is my lovely band and I waiting for more Amaranthe. I subscribe you and waiting
Last clip. I was there. My 11th Sabaton concert and 4th Amaranthe concert :)
Got all of OG Sabatons signatures. What was awsome was Apocalyptica during the Sabaton set, and during their own set they played "Hall of the Mountain king" in Oslo :)
When Amaranthe or Apocalyptica was playing Hannes Van Dahl(Sabaton drummer) and Floor Jansen(Nightwish vocalist) was standing right in front of me watching from the mixing table. She is his girlfriend.
Elize Ryd was also singing some Rammstein along with Apocalyptica.
Amarante was forband to Sabaton on the Great War tour in 19/20, I saw them @Hovet 15/2-20. And in march Corona strikes ;/
Eurodisco + Metal = Amaranthe. I love it.
More Amaranthe: Countdown, Boom!1, or GG6. I love the mix of all three singers in Amaranthe, the pop and power metal is awesome.
This is your best reaction yet!
Got to react to Attack of the Dead Men by Sabaton with guest Radio Tapok
One fun thing with Sabaton is that they love if someone use their songs to do something creative, cover or a video or something like that, send it to them if they like it they share it. They have earlier had some video contest and so on. A band namnd Van Canto send a cover to sabaton and Joakim is now a pert of the official video search for Van Canto primo Victoria
That is totally rad 🤘🏻
Thank you. BATTLE BEAST. Straight to The Heart from Finland.
I was att that tour, saw them in Stockholm 🤘🤘
When Anette was having medical issues and it was beginning to appear she was going to be fired, Nightwish began taking tapes of other singers. Elize Ryd (female singer from Amaranthe) was one considered partially because she and Alissa White-Gluz had stepped in when Anette couldn't do a show. Here is Elize Ryd's audio performance of Nemo: ruclips.net/video/Mi9BtooY3Ko/видео.html
Cool! More reactions to Sabaton, guys)
Just dont stop! Keep it on
Seen Sabaton many times. Great live band. Check them out live, maybe not the new official ones, they are filmed from the scene into the crowd. Well I guess that’s a matter of taste. Plus make sure to check out their second channel: The Sabaton History Channel, where they explain the historical background to the songs.
No comment on the version of Amaranth from me...
Good job guys! Excellent video! 🤘🤘
People have mentioned that the drummer for Sabaton is married to Floor. And speaking of drummers, the drummer for Amaranthe's girlfriend is Melissa Bonny from Ad Infinitum.

Really enjoying your take on these reactions , subbed from Scotland , all the best
The Ship song is Bismarck, don’t know why the top couple of comments don’t say it but that’s what it is
I knew I recognized your accents lol. Told myself no way I accidentally find someone from south africa here. But here we are. Hi from up in Limpopo
Amaranthe’s current clean vocalist is Nils Molin who is also the vocalist of Dynazty. If you haven’t listened to them before you should absolutely check them out and maybe react to them 😃
Was so cool in Amsterdam!!
Check out Sabaton Great War ....pretty epic mates ......cheers from New Zealand.
Nice reaction....
As a guitar geek.... Ayreon - the day the world breaks down
Great great reaction. Gost division live at woodstock next please😊
Sabaton - Ghost Division Live at Woodstock 2012 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Sabaton the pride of swedish metal music and Amaranthe the joy of swedish metal music! I would recommend “Bismark” “ Primo Victoria” and “Resist and Bite” from Sabaton and “Fearless” “Trinity ” and “Hunger” from Amaranthe
Fun fact the drummer of Sabaton is married to the singer of Nightwish. Also since you guys loved both you need to check out Brothers of Metal. Their song Prophecy of Ragnarok is amazing.
Also Brothers of Metal is from the same town as Sabaton
Floor was at the last gig! I was hoping she would take the stage, sadly not :/
