"What language is that?"
Yeah seeing as the band is from Sweden and the song being about the Swedish Royal Guard, it really makes me wonder what it could be.
swiss german, because they didn't sing in swiss german in the last stand
Haha yeah we know, we know, we had a bit of a brain fart there. While we did the editing of the video we were like "seriously?!" # facepalm 😜
I know it its german
idk man, could be mandarin. Not sure tho
its romanian!...100%
1. Hannes is no longer the extra he's now Sigfried the invincible mortal worthy of the Valkyrie queen
2. Joakim Broden has that smile at the end like it's another day at the office and he loves his office job
The smile Joakim has, is the smile he has JUST before he turns into a tank and slaughter the world! ^^
Swedish history "Livgardet" goes back to 1521 and are one of the oldests regement that still excist in the world to this date. So this year It´s the regemnts 500 year birtday.
So big congrats
I served my conscript in that regiment 1986 😊
Sabaton: * sing about Swedish history *
Still Sabaton: * change the language in the song *
Reactor: "What kind of language is this?"
Me: "Hmm ... Great question. So a Swedish rock band that uses 2 languages (English and Swedish) in their songs and sang about the history of Sweden ... Hmm, I can't even imagine ... Maybe Polish! Or Australian! "
lol
G'day mate!
Actually they have been singing in german and a few words of other languages. But I also felt like it was one of the more stupid things they said. Still good thou!
@Несін Борис, we know we know, had a bit of a brain fart there 😂 When we did the editing of the video we were like "seriously"?! #facepalm 😜
But hey at least we have awesome followers and fans that can help us in the right direction when we screw it up. Love you guys 🤗🤗
Hehehehehehehehehehehe Hmmmmmmmm...
Please do the "No Bullets Fly" Animated Story Video by Sabaton as next Sabaton choise!
THIS!
This must be done!!
Yeap do do do it pls ❤
Yes it is 297 in The swedish hymnbook
I had no idea, I had to listen to believe it!
Yeah the tune is the same as the crusader hymn
@@Azraeltheangelofdeath yes by Franz Liszt
The choir melody from the song bears resemblance to a Christian hymn "Fairest Lord Jesus", also known as "Beautiful Savior". In Sweden, the same melody is also used in Psalm 297 - "Härlig är jorden" ("Lovely is the Earth").
The video depicts the Skirmish at Bender where an overwhelming force of Ottoman Empire soldiers captured the swedish king defended by the Royal Guard.
I would not be surprised if the song had not been written by His Royal Highness, G.A. King of Sweden, or at least one version of the lyrics having been his. He actually wrote several hymns as king.
Now Sweden is atheist
it is. all the more reason i wanna sing this version of the song but with an extra verse after the beautiful savior chorus about the crucifixion. per sabaton's permission maybe lol
I grew up with that hymn in church!
The Swedish part, roughly translated: For Sweden in the times (Our present kings motto) where ever the king goes. They do what seems impossible, what ever the future might bring"
The hymn is originally known as " Schönster Herr Jesu, Herrscher aller Erden" and the melody is first known as "Schlesische Volkslieder" (Schlesian folk song)
they do what seems impossible (Possunt nec posse videntur) is the motto of Livgardet (royal guards)
Yeah i thought there were something familiar with the song!
We have a norwegian translation to the song named "Deilig er jorden" (lovely is the earth).
@@andreaspedersen3952 It's most likely, just like the Swedish "Härlig är jorden" a translation of the Danish hymn "Pilgrimssang" or Dejlig er jorden by Ingemann.
Thank you so much!!!! Ever since they released Livgardet it was driving me crazy trying to think of what that music was. So I searched for Schlesische Volkslieder and found out it is the music for "Fairest Lord Jesus." We use to sing that song all of the time in Church.
The only time I heard it used in Sweden is in funerals very common. But that is like 25% of the times I ever been to church so might be wrong.
I am so glad they did the videos for Livgardet and the Royal Guard, since there were none for the Carolus Rex album.
They look fantastic in those costumes.
The best costumes Swedish soldiers had back then
Night Witches (animated story video), No Bullets Fly (animated story video), Uprising, Screaming Eagles and Fields of Verdun are my favorite music videos with Sabaton. Hope you will do a reaction to all of them!
My brother is a Swedish royal guard where the livgardet are there ancestors to and I myself is SWEDISH with a proude military history
Another great react kids!
We derive our family name from the location of a piece of land granted to my ancestor for his service in the Livgardet 400 years ago during the Thirty Years War. Years ago I petitioned the crown to grant us a family coat of arms...successfully! From my sons to my immigrant grandfather, we are 4 generations of US Army combat veterans. Our family also proudly claims many more Swedish vets as well, including 3 other Life Guards. Think my boys and I, and my 87 year old father before he recently passed, like Sabaton much?!? 🤘😈🤘
To me it looks like they recreating the "Skirmish at Bender", where the Ottomans tried to convince the Swedes to leave. :P
Great reaction, guys!🤘 Check out Sabaton's "No bullets fly" (animated story video), "Seven pillars of wisdom" (official music video), "To hell and back" (official music video) and "Lion from the North" (official music video).
The melody is from the hymn ‘Fairest Lord Jesus’ (Swe: Härlig är Jorden)
Also “För Sverige - i tiden” (Eng: For Sweden - with the times) is the personal motto for the current king of Sweden and “De gör vad som synes omöjligt” (They do what seems impossible) is the motto of the Livgardet/Royal Guard (Possunt nec posse videntur)
Awesome reaction! You guys really cracked me up with this one. :D I watched this as it premiered as well and even though I had heard the swedish version of it already, this version and the video had my jaw slam into the floor and stay there for the whole video. It's so damn good! I remember going "oh shit" as I saw the army outside. I remember hearing the lead singer Joakim say that he's a bad actor but I'd say that this video shows differently. The whole band did an awesome job, as did all the other actors in it.
They released the Swedish version first. Same type of music but in Swedish. Liveth Garden I think.
The Life Guard or Royal Guard is Sweden's oldest unit celebrating 500 years this year. From the beginning, there were only 16 men from Dalarna, the same landscape that Sabaton comes from
Due to this, the Swedish Armed Forces and Sabaton started a collaboration to write a song about this, but the Armed Forces did not dare to complete the collaboration and withdrew due to Sabaton being questioned in some politically correct circles. Sabaton then finished writing the song on his own.
Wow thanks for this information 🙂
please do more sabaton reacts, love seeing people listening to there songs for the 1st time :)
I love your reaction videos to Sabaton
Thanks so so much 🤗
joakim in full on berzerk mode. now he has proven that he is a real viking
Okay, you have now done The Royal Guard, Rorke's Drift, Ghost Division, Night Witches, and several versions of 82nd all the way. Now i hope you can react to Angels Calling. Sabaton alongside with Acopalyptica.
I do love how Sabaton doesn't feel a need to overdo their soloes. It's always very well fitted to the song, and feels more like a natural part of the song, and not something that has to steal the show and be the only thing you remember.
Every time I see the video for the song, I become a Swedish patriot. Which is a bit weird, since I'm not Swedish ^^
It s side effect listening to Sabaton
Everyone is Swedish, you just havent realized it yet. 🇸🇪❤️
If everyone where Sabaton fans there would be no wars.
If you live in the US you most probably have Swedish, or at least, Scandinavian forefathers.
Hello! Just a reminder from a Swede! Bismarck please! Now do remember that the hole video is there own production!
The fighting depicted in the video is the Skirmish at Bender, where the Ottomans got sick of Karl XII freeloading in Ottoman Moldova and urging them to enter and continue to fight a losing war with Russia (after having his own army destroyed at Poltava) and attempted to storm the estate he had been living in. The king and 40 of his Royal Guard held out for 7 hours against "many hundreds." The Ottomans eventually resorted to artillery and fire arrows, and only after the roof caught fire did they dislodge the Swedes. The king himself tripped on his spurs exiting the burning building, where he was subdued and captured by dozens of men. He was held prisoner for over a year, until news of a Swedish victory against the Danes and Saxons reached them.
Sabaton are a swedish band.. so some lyrics in this song is in Swedish ... since its a about the Swedish royal guard since 500 years 🤘🇸🇪
They have protected the King in Sweden for 500 years
I’m a bit late but glad you guys did this I love this song
they mix english and swedish lyrics
this ^
Skirmish at Bender was something else.
Awesome 💙💙🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪
Epic guys! Cool song. Sabaton is living Legends
Thanks buddy 😊😊🤗🤗
I wish my country had such a cool band as Sabaton, but I'm proud enough to be their neighbor!
The intro and chorus melody is from a Swedish hymn, "Härlig Är Jorden"
Not seen the english version before now in this reaction. It look like the video meant to show the Skirmish in Bender.
"Did Sabaton made a Church Hymm?"
Wingged Hussers: What's poppen
The melodi is based of a Swedish psalm, "härlig är jorden." (The earth is wonderful).
@Songs and thongs u should try steel commanders it is sick as cheers guys from aus
Considering how many church hymns are repurposed songs of the era they were written in, it doesn't at all surprise me that you've heard this tune before.
The video is about en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skirmish_at_Bender
You guys are great.....you and your channel have ruined radio for me....thanks so much 👍👊🖐
And the Winged Hussars arrived!!!!
Beautiful Savior
check out LILIAC SAIL AWAY,We Are the Children, and Dancing in the Dark
you love guitar solo ! then you react to defence of moscow ( offical muik video) it is amazing!!!!!
Moscow shall not fall!
The vid represents the Skirmish at Bender where Carolus Rex was captured by Ottoman Janissaries.
No? First of all don't refer to him as carolus rex and second they are fighting russian soldiers, it's supposed to represent the great northern war
@@unorthodoxspork5634 nope those were clearly janissaries, tho they didn't look like "turks" (aka indoctrinated Anatolians and Anatolian Greeks) which were the bulk of janissaries, and who still to this day are gaslighted and conditioned to larp as turks, but the ones in the video looked more iranianish, but to be fair nearly half had their faces covered.
@@alexmag342 The Russian troops actually wore that kind of clothing since it was light weight also Sweden never battled the Ottomans so that wouldn't make sense either, I learned this in History class mate it's common knowledge
@@alexmag342 Also the Ottomans never attacked a swedish fort unlike the Russians who attacked several across Estonia (Livonia) and Finland
@@unorthodoxspork5634 Try again. Skirmish at Bender it is! Don't refer to him as Carolus Rex? Russian soldiers? Are you serious or just another Woki Doki trying to make kaos? / Miicke P
this is just a regular day from Sabaton.
they said : for sweden in time, there the king goes, they do what seemes impossible, whatever the future tracks,
Your welcome👍
I had heard the song before🤟🏻, but not the video,, lots of killing 🥵

Just another day at work......Sabaton
Watter psalm is dit hier by ons? Dit pla my nou al vandat die Sweedse weergawe uit gekom het. Dankie vir julle reaksies. Ek geniet dit.
I was reading this comment and I was thinking "is this someone who doesn't speak Dutch properly?" Then I realized it's Afrikaans xD
@@codex4046 It is fairly easy to read Dutch. Just don't expect the same spelling!
German is harder. I can tell you whether I am looking at a sports report or gossip, but that is all.
Beautiful Savior/Fairest Lord Jesus
You guys need to check out Sabaton's new song "defence of Moscow
I like your reactions...'guys'..🇸🇪

For Sweden in time.

they do what seems impossible.
Whatever the future holds
Guys you need to listen Dissension by Nimophila (J metal all women band) it will blow your mind! Love from India
Thanks for the recommendation
the royal guard is the oldest regemente in the world
correction:
*oldest military regiment in Sweden
the oldest military regiment In the world Is the Moroccan Royal guard that was founded in 1088 by Sultan Yusuf ibn Tashfin while the Swedish royal guard was founded in 1521 by Gustav vasa where he got 15 young men from Darlecarelia who swore to protect the King with Their Life.
05:04 it's Swedissh
💯🤟👍🤩
"Härlig är Jorden". Old church hymn. Well, good one anyway.
Good reaction....guys....🇸🇪...do Screaming Eagles, officiell.video 🇸🇪💙💛
its in swedish and english
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
En undran ; säger vi inte "Moder Svea ??
It is english and swedish:)
is swedish, and the part that you did not understand was their motto, but is is not allowed to translate it into another language
That language was Swedish 😊
Sweden royal guard😊
what language is that. swedish flags and sweden are mentioned like every vers xD
We know, we know, we had a bit of a brain fart. While we were busy with the editing we were like "seriously?!" #facepalm 😜
Duh, no one has ever attacked in Stocholm ryal castle - untill 2017 with a truck throught innocent civilians...
5:11 what do you mean what language is this, and what do you mean dont know... It's swedish ofc
Haha, we know, we know, we had a bit of a brain fart there. When we did the editing of the video we were like "seriously?!" #facepalm 😜
@@SongsandThongs can happen to the best of us, ;) keep up the good work
if there are from sweden....they speak swedish??
Theres some swedish, no i dont know why but i guess you just have to learn swedish if you understand it all
Can you tell me which song this reminds you of. Ever since the "original" Livgardet was released, I've been wondering which song it reminds me of.
The melody they have used as a base for this song is an old hymn that has been sung in many different countries through out history. In swedish I know it as "Härlig är jorden". Darkee69 said in another comment that: "The hymn is originally known as " Schönster Herr Jesu, Herrscher aller Erden" and the melody is first known as "Schlesische Volkslieder" (Schlesian folk song)."
Thanks @Tiny Lia. It is the old hymn "Fairest Lord Jesus" 🙂
@@SongsandThongs Thanks for the answers. Then I'll probably listen to these songs and see if that's what the song reminds me of
Just saying, if you haven't done it yet, react to Primo Victoria.
Partnering with World of Tanks, every time I see that video, all I want to do is get in a tank and blow my enemies to Hell with a 75mm long main tank cannon.
The language is Swedish
Wait, does that mean you really only "listened" to their song Bismarck back then after you did your first Sabaton reaction and didn't watch the video yet? Because there's no way you would ever have forgotten watching this Mother Of All Music Videos.
That is true yes, we then got caught up with all the other epic songs of Sabaton that we never actually checked out the music video. Seems like we have another reaction to do then... 😀😀
Am I first?
Seems you were! He he. Thanks!
In one of the reactions about this song there actuallu was some turks whining about making this song and celebrating killing turks. This is a people who used chemical weapons on civilians in the 90´s killing thousands of people and now they are trying to get favours to include sweden into Nato more or less extortion.
check out swedish version, much better
Will check it out, thanks!
Language? Well, they are swedish.
Haha, we know, we had a bit of a brain fart there. When we were busy editing the video we were like "seriously?!" #facepalm 😜
"What language is that..." facepalm
Haha we know, we know, had a bit of a brain fart there. When we edited the video we were like "serioulsy?!" #facepalm 😜
onlyfans girl going to church 🤔🤔
Some parts are still in there natural language of sweedish
you talking to much and not listening to the lyrics
It is a danish hymn, but it is also sung in Swedish. da.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dejlig_er_jorden
Isn´t that the swedish anthem? Would make more sense, I think.
