Acuras are great! I’ve got an Acura RL with 650k miles on it and I’m just now changing the fuel injectors. Runs like a new car still.
The RL is a great sedan.
Wow, amazing.
Make sure you contact some dealers. They might offer you a brand new car to have your used car. It happened to a Canadian Corolla owner whose car was about to hit one million km. They gave him a brand new one in exchange of his old car, to display his car in showroom.
@@jessicapao3151 I might have to check into that! I still have the original paperwork from where my grandparents bought it brand new in ‘99. Every single person in my family has driven it. Still drives down the road like a new car and it’s pretty quick for its size and age

I own 2 Acura. 2016 RDX Advance- just hit 114,000 miles, timing belt change is set in a week. 07 TSX- 232,000 miles, looks and runs like new. I believe 1/ 2 a million miles will be no problem.
13 mpg is because he was on it all the time. I just drove across the country and got 28.5 mpg while doing 80 mph. Around town, 19 mpg.
I have the same year RDX and a 17 Pilot. Both get about 28 mpg on highway trips. Scotty got 27 mpg from a 6000 lb. Expedition? Time for new glasses dude!!!
I have a 2016 RDX. 63K miles. It’s been good but I’m have the sudden occasional power loss others have reported. Into the dealer and they replaced an oil pressure switch which they said affects timing. Still happening so back to Acura next week. If they fix it I’ll be happy still with my RDX.
I bought a new MDX back in 2004 and its running strong with 360,000 miles on it. It's a great SUV.
Is your MDX still running? Have you driven on a long road trip 7 to 9 hours?
@@gutadin5 Yes , still running strong. I did sell it to my sister in 2017 when I got something new. She at the time ran a daycare and needed a cheap 3 seat SUV.

My brother in law is an engineer at Hondas Anna Ohio plant and he gets 2 new vehicles every 2 years as part of his employment. His Pilot is amazing. His old Accord he used to drive every day had 390 thousand miles on it when he sold it and it ran great still. They are a very good company and strive to build reliable vehicles while paying their employees well.
Yep yep 👍
Ask him if it's true that the reason my 3.5 V6 uses 0 20 oil is bc the tight engine clearances. I get so tired of ppl trying to argue with me about it
I had a 4 cyl accord. I assumed it was for improved fuel mileage.

Love Acura.. I have an 09 MDX with 350,000 and it drives like new.. basic maintenance only, changed timing belt and water pump at required intervals is the only expensive maintenance I’ve ever done. Everything works no burnt lights no weird sounds or anything just perfect!
My 09 has 180k
water pumps aren’t a maintenance item lol, that’s just a junk product
@@standyourground9973 water pumps absolutely are a maintenance item when you get into high mileage, they go wrong on every single car eventually at some point. I keep my cars for much longer than most do and the number I’ve had go wrong when I was younger past 200-300k convinced me to just do it while your in there anyway.
@@braydenmartindale if it’s a junk design sure
@@standyourground9973 Water pumps are definitely a maintenance item, they are to be changed at 100k miles and when it's scheduled to be changed it makes it maintenance item like oil change, tires and brakes. Starters and alternators are not maintenance items but rather repair items. I don't consider it a junk product either. I own a 2012 Honda Accord Coupe with a V6 and the timing belt service is the only thing I've really spent money on bc the car never ever has had a problem, uses no oil and leaks nothing. I replaced front pads, one tire bc I hit something in the road and oil changes. So I'm comfortable with spending $580 every 100k miles on this maintenance item. Cheapest car I've ever had to maintain honestly
For so long, many ridiculed Acura for holding on to SH-AWD and considered it marginally worthy. Well, they have mastered it and on the MDX and TLX-S, the handling is amazing!
Last year we purchased a 2017 Lexus GX460. We tow a boat and wanted a body on frame truck design. I get 17 mpg town 21 to 22 mpg on highway with an 4.6 8 cylinder engine and full time 4 wheel drive. I looked at Honda's but they don't make body on frame vehicles and the Lexus was very comfortable as well as luxurious. For our purposes, an MDX wouldn't do.
The GX is a great SUV. Built on the LC Prado platform, it is one of the most capable off-roaders around. The central locking differential is great. I have an RX350, which I really like, but I was thinking of the GX460. The LX570 or 600's are too expensive, though I like them. The GX is now the only Lexus/Toyota SUV with a V8. That 4.6 liter is a good one, too.
As an author in Alabama, I mail 85% of my books to 1,249 retailers, but also drive my new 2022 MDX ACURA and it is just like Scotty says, a terrific vehicle in every way. I can set my adaptive cruise and it drives through heavy rain when the Gulf Stream weather lets mother nature do its thing. You can get 25 cases with just the third row down and still room for four adults. As far as buying those E.V's NO way, as you can not take those long trips for autograph signing on the beaches of Gulf Shores, or long trips to say Huntsville, etc., as most states still do not have enough of level 2 charging stations and who wants to sit for many hours charging or even get a hotel room while you charge. I do like the new E.V. Acura MDX coming and maybe in five years we can buy one and not have driver anxiety from worry about running out of battery power. This is a winner in every way and my wife and I love the tech too. You will not be sorry if you trade up to the Acura MDX, and unlike those German brands you will not be sitting for repairs, etc., at the dealership! Scotty can tell you about those German brands too. Honda engines and transmissions last for ever and believe me, I can not find any Acura owner that says anything bad about their vehicle!
The evs not an mdx, its a zdx
I love everything about my mdx too apart from the gas mileage, but I can afford it.. It's all good
Had a 2008 MDX, and never a day of problems with it. Quality just as you say. Gas mileage averaged 16MPG, marginally better on trips. A friend needed a new (to him) SUV so just recently sold it or would otherwise still be driving it. One huge advantage to my mind though if I was looking to buy new is the Lexus (non-hybrid) burns regular fuel, the MDX only premium, which is a big difference with prices now.
I sold my 2009 MDX, because the gas mileage was horrible. I was spending about $350 a month in gas. I had about 87,000 miles on it and the rear main seal started leaking. The engine was Also burning oil at a quart per month. I sold it rather cheap at $15,000 and purchased a Tesla Model 3. Today gas prices have doubled and I would have been spending over $700 in gas per month. Also oil changes, rear main seal, transmission and differential fluids. The Tesla is actually saving me money. I do miss the size of the MDX, but I still have my Lexus GX and 4Runner. My 911 S and BMW M3 just sit collecting dust now.
@@mocheen4837 todays gas prices make a HUGE impact in transportation. Theres ppl spending more or almost as much on gas per month, as they are on their car payment, since gas is twice as much now days.
I recently got a new 2022 Toyota Corolla SE since its only myself & my wife & its great on gas.
We own a 2017 MDX. Average MPG for 55,000 is 19.6. My wife drives more aggressively than I do. Highest I have gotten on the highway is 27.3, at 78mph on a flat stretch of highway going through Indiana, typical is 23.5-24.0 mpg on hwy...........
I currently own a 2022 Mdx A-Spec. The track pad is a little awkward but overall its a fantastic vehicle. The A-Spec package is a must! Best bang for the buck in my opinion
Also the best looking
Really? I'll keep that in mind. We really like the MDX, but ended up getting a Lexus. I still want an MDX, so we might end up with one at some point in the future.
The big reason why I'd take Acura over Lexus now
Acura's interior is more ergonomical as they are still on Team Buttons. Lexus, however, migrated over to Team Touchscreen-Everything, which is less ergonomical and less redundant
Agreed.
Honda is getting better but they ain't touching Toyota as it relates to interior design and quality
@@Alloyd876 to be fair, they may win in reliability but Toyota always seems to be a generation behind in tech and looks. Their new vehicles (ie. 2023 Lexus NX) already look old and not exciting.

Scotty I think the reason Honda still uses a belt with their V6 engines is because it idles very quietly and smooth, thus adding to overall luxury experience. They are pretty tough belts too! My friend just changed one in an Odyssey, it was the original one with 243K. I'd run them to a 100k without a second thought, the J series is a well engineered motor.
The change interval is supposed to be 7years or 105,000 miles as per owners manual
100k miles on a timing belt? You’re playing with dynamite
@@diablocls55 Any Honda/Acura with a J series v6 has that interval of 105k or 7 years . Older cars had timing belts that only lasted 60k
@@CRAPO2011 Impressive. I own an Acura and used to own another and have owned several Hondas (and actually 2 right now lol) and never knew that

We were looking at Lexus before I became brand loyal to Acura. The local Lexus dealer upset us during the deal, and we found ourselves dealing with Acura the next day and never looked back. They are a great value compared to other luxury brands.
Every time I see an Acura, I can’t but help and think how they stole their new redesign from the Mazda cx5 😆
Lexus dealer was an angel :)
There's something about Toyota/Lexus dealers, they all leave a sour taste in my mouth. My partner's Honda deal was smooth as heck, so I'm with you on this!
Acura only offer 6 month for the app after 6 months you have to pay for the app to work. Lexus offer app for 3 years.
@@phongle-vb3qi the app isn't a critical piece of the car for me.
I have this exact same vehicle now for almost two years, and I don't think I have ever gotten below 19 mpg city and usually 26-27 highway with the 3.5L V6. I'm on my third 3.5L V6 Honda product (2008 Honda Odyssey, 2017 Accord V6, and now 2022 MDX), and they've all been incredible motors. I'd argue Honda's 3.5L V6 is the best V6 ever made.
I think your friends foot is a little too heavy. :)

I have a 2012 MDX 3.7 l. I agree everything about the performance. My steady speed MPG ranges from 30 miles per gallon to 20 from 40mph to 70 mph respectively. I get about 20-22 mpg, beats the pilot. And I’m more aggressive in acceleration than most. Often in sport mode.
ALSO…Looking very forward to the new, all electric ZDX!!! 2 years….
Electric has a long way to go still
I’ve been seeing a lot of these on the road lately, they’re almost becoming as ubiquitous as Lexus SUVs. Very nice looking, and the reviews suggest it is a real driving car
@@captinbeyond the RDX is also a top seller, the TLX sells well in its class and the ILX outsells its competitors. So no this is not the only model keeping the Acura brand afloat, they have good sales across the board with just four models.

@@edwardbennet3902 not true. A 2016 MDX (6 year old) is still going for mid $20k and 2015 is going for low $20k. You would have to get a high mileage 2014 and older for sub $20k prices

Love working for Acura because of these. The infotainment, the reliability, the space, and my god the middle row with the modular middle seat. Acura finally added some great QOL changes.
My only gripe is the few bugs it has when the Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto try to fight for connection. That’s just a simple software cleanup issue.
Great content as always sir! Love your channel so very much. Very educational and entertaining.
I already bought a Lexus, because Scotty always said, it's better than others Japanese brands.
2002 mdx touring edition, is actually older than any car i've owned as a millenial but it gives me less problems. Had a volvo s60 2.4t and a bmw 3 series before this. At 275k miles on the mdx and it's amazing. The screen still works! Heated seats. It's pretty luxurious for when it was made.
I'm in splits as to how well the review has been done with the wicked humour 😂😂 Loved it 🤣

If you have the Dollar Then go get the Dough...👍😅
Scotty, I have a 2020 MDX hybrid with a V6 engine! 320 combined HP - awfully fun to drive for a big rig! Acura actually got rid of their V6 hybrid for the big 2022 redesign - and didn’t come up with 4-cylinder replacement, just no hybrid option for now.
Never change Scotty, love your videos. Have had Honda CR-V's since 2008 after having Volvo's and BMW's before. Never going back, love having cars that just work and never give you any hassle
Yes, Honda & Toyota have honesty of design. Shame about the rest.
Hey Scotty, I enjoy your channel very much,, I absolutely love the fact that Honda still uses a timing belt on their V6, I sell used cars and I constantly have to deal with crankshaft camshaft correlation codes but you never get this with a Honda V6, it's about $1000 to replace the timing belt every 5 years which averages about $16 a month, well worth the small added cost to have worry free driving.

I bought one of the first Acuras in Buffalo 1986 and have purchased a few through the years and currently have a 2016 ILX and love it. Well-built cars -- always start and go where you need them to go.
yea, I visited Orchard Park, Buffalo in the 80's, saw a few Bills games at Ralph Wilson Stadium- nice town
I know the 90s/ early 2000 Camrys made in the USA said origin of Transmission: Japan; origin of Engine: USA. When the cars got to be about 17 years old the engine oil seals started to leak but the transmissions did not. That was my experience. I made a new rule for myself and got a Corolla 100 percent Japan. I'll see if the engine oil seals leak at year 17.
It probably won't, those Japanese are very serious in building cars, no disrespect for the US cars industry! 👍🏻
I've only bought one US built Japanese car. It was an Acura CL-S. The transmission failed... twice! It downshifted from 5th to 2nd at 80 mph on a freeway. I fixed that sht and dumped it the first chance I had.
Only Japan built here, thank you...
Ive had my mdx for 3 years now.. just noticed the feet on the rear bumper.. nice ride for sure. Vtm 4 is a dream.. takes snowy hills like a dream..
Hell has officially frozen over. Scotty said something positive about an engine beauty cover! He even sort of felt it up lovingly while describing its carbon fiber material. Frozen over.
🤣
I think it was Faux Carbon Fiber too, even more of travesty he didn’t mind. 😂

I had driven Acura MDX for 12 years. I had 2 Acura MDXs at that time. They kept having problems like German cars starting in the third year (even they ran faster than Lexus). I had all 4 doors' handles broken in 2 Acura MDXs. Two window doors dropped down, one on each car. Alternators were broken on two cars. Air conditioner was broken on one car. Compressor was broken on one car. Brake fluid hose was broken after 12 years. Brake pads need to be changed every 30,000 miles. Road noise was very bad.
I switched to 2 Lexus RX350 SUVs. They are now both 7 years old. Not a single problem, run smoothly, no road noise. I have changed only the engine oil and tires for both. No brake pads changed yet after 60,000 miles. I never go back to Acura MDX...
The issues you had ARE NOT typical for the MDX. As a current owner of 2007(17 yrs) my experience is the exact opposite. I've owned 3 MDXs (2003, 2007, 2020) and have not had major issues with any of them. I currently have the 2007 and 2020. I've also owned the 1986 and '91 Legend as well as the 2012 TL all were mechanically sound vehicles. If they were not I would not have continually purchased the brand.
Additionally, I'm so surprised. I put 340k miles on my '91 Legend and never had to replace alternator or starter. Where did you live and what kind of driving did you do (urban or rural , combination)?
I am still driving my 2006 acura TSX and it is extremely reliable and good on gas. 7.6L/100km and zero trouble other than regular maintenance. However i heard the quality of the recent acura vehicles are no longer the same.
Is 7.6L/100km a good gas ⛽️ mileage?
Thought 30 is better
@@everythingentertaining6427 not good in today's standard, but still cheaper than getting a new vehicle.
13-17mpg? My old 1970 Fleetwood limo gets about 18mpg (HWY). It seats 8 or 9 people, has almost 90,000 miles on it, & goes zero to 60 in about 8 or 9 seconds. All original condition except for some minor rust repairs, & paint.
Interesting. Which engine is in your Cadillac? Not the 500 cid!
And my poo is filled with gold dust. What a joke 18 mpg on a 1970 Fleetwood more like 9 mpg.

I own an older Acura MDX with over 130k+ miles still running strong. I use it to drive around the city.
The first gen was my favorite despite their early transmission problems.
@@francoa.9646 I always change the transmission fluid every 30k miles just drop and fill once not a flush. Never had issues with Honda or Acura transmissions but I always do fluid change.
90% of Engine wear occurs on COLD startup not warm startup. However I still agree it's not worth it to use Auto stop/start. It does cause additional stress, and obviously a lot more wear on the starter.
Yeah the warm startup is fine.
The auto stop idle only turns on when the engine is warm.
In the winter.. my RDX on my commute doesn't have any moment of autostop
But.. these starters in these cars are not what they used to be.
Let's talk about the actual starter itself. Average is what 80,000 starts?
Assuming 365 driving days a 10 starts a day? 3650 starts a year? 22 years to hit 80,000.
Even if we doubled it to 7300 a year. 11 years? To replace a starter? A few hundred dollars? Not really that bad.
In regards to the poor fuel mileage. I just recently took a family trip in a fully packed 2022 Acura MDX Advanced. My wife, our four kids and I had the car filled to the roof with luggage. We traveled from San Mateo to Glendale about 364 miles from house to hotel. I put it in ECO mode on Highway 5 and had plenty of range left to make it more than 50 miles past Glendale per the Acura range computer. That’s easily over 400 miles range freeway driving on a full tank running supreme fuel. I did the same trip in my 2016 Honda Pilot EX-L. Easily over 400 miles range too.
thank you Scotty for that positive feedback. I'm glad a brought a great luxury vehicle that is approved by u.

2 years ago, I bought my 3rd Acura. I owned a 1988 legend, a 2002 RL, and now a 2015 RDX. If I ever trade-in the RDX, I'll buy an MDX.
Scotty, great review! I've had my '22 MDX for 10 months now and just passed 20K miles. I'm getting 19 mpg, but that is using mid-grade fuel and using Sport mode about 10% of the time. My only issue is the cellphone charging pad does not work well with newer iPhones, and I understand this is a known issue. Other than that, no issues and I love the ride!
My neighbor has a new MDX and transmission is making noises
I have watched many of your videos throughout the years, and I'm always entertained while learning from you. Thank you.
That relaxing sea air must have Scotty in a R.I. trance - like state of mind. He actually " LIKES THE BEAUTY COVER , " honestly I did not see that one coming. 😲😲😲
I've got a '08 MDX and I must say it is the best car I've ever had!! My Mercedes, was always in the shop. My Jaguar......need I say more? 2 Cadillacs. Both had crazy electrical problems. MDX has 152,000 miles still looks and runs great!! Buying a newer MDX this fall. = )
I still have my 11 MDX Adv with +154,000 miles and it still looks and runs like new. It still looks better than 1/2 of the new vehicles on the road.
My dads most reliable car was an 1991 Acura Legend! Changed the timing belt 3 times and made it to 290k miles with only maintenance
I had the same car. Best car I owned. Bc of the legend, now I have a 2012 TSX and 2022 MDX just like the one on the video.
Acura sure makes some great cars I love my 2015 TLX never had a problem with it since new only changed the battery.
My friend has an older MDX with like 270k miles no issues at all. AC works great.
I think the reason these Acuras get such poor economy is due to engine tuning. The RDX as a 2.0L 4 cylinder and it gets around 24. The engines simply aren't tuned for fuel economy.
What should they be tuned at?
@@KeepItReal213 I agree that they should get better economy, but Acura is trying to be a sporty brand so they seem to prioritize power instead of efficiency.
It’s quite a sharp looking luxury Honda, it does look better than the Pilot. The other draw back of owning an MDX vs a Pilot beside a timing belt every 100k, is that the MDX requires premium fuel while the Pilot runs on regular.
Recommended. Not required.
I’ve never heard of any car/vehicle having premium gas as a requirement….I was told not to run premium in my tundra because its not to any benefit…….🤐
It doesn’t require premium. Most newer cars are built better and don’t require premium anymore. I have a 2017 RDX and run regular and have no issues.
You need to read the small print. The Acura MDX does not require premium fuel. Acura recommends premium fuel for best performance. The car will work adequately on regular fuel.
Yeey Scotty. Love you reviews and antics!
My 2011 Acura TSX still going strong at 194,000 miles, love this car!
I owned a 2012 MDX and started doing DIY maintenance in 2017 due to the high costs at the dealer. Since then, I've been handling all types of oil/fluid changes, brake system replacements, and more. The amazing thing is that I took it for alignment last year, and for a 10-year-old vehicle, the alignment reading was 0/0/0. It was my first time getting an alignment (shame on me), but I was pleasantly surprised by how well it performed. Overall, this car has never given me any major issues, and almost all bulbs are still original. Compared to other cars I've owned, this one is the best.
I used to own an Acura TL. No problem for 10 year. Then I had kids and switched to a Mercedes 450GL. After 3-4 years of owning it, it became a money pit. I had to replace the breaks, starter, all my shocks, suspension pump, hose. I have major regrets.
@dejavu9605, so Scotty is right. They do hold up better than a Benz or BMW.
Great job sir ! Trying decide between the RX and MDX ! I think I am back swinging to MDX !
Got one of those 3 weeks ago in Advance pkg. Love it. Btw, that carbon fiber-look beauty cover is the engine air cleaner box cover.
Driven Acuras for over 20 years, love em'.
It's s toss up which one has a better ride, the RL of the F150 Lariat.
@@AT-wl9yq
Not mine, rides like a Cadillac.
I loved all four of my Acuras.
I booked my mdx 2023 advance, 12 days ago, can not wait to drive this beauty ❤
I have an MDX and an RDX. They both get over 20 mpg. Not sure about this one. Anyway, I’ve had other Acuras and they are really excellent and durable cars. In luxury car land, they’re viewed as sort of priced for the more practical driver. Whatever, they are excellent in my experience.
Right! My 15 mdx gets 26 mi per gallon
Hey Scotty. My 05 Silverado LT with Quadrasteer has tilt down mirrors for reverse too. They also fold in with a touch of a button. BTW... Yes the Quadrasteer works. I leave it active all the time. 👍
I bought an MDX for my (now ex-) wife and she was very happy with it. Her daughter kept driving it for years afterwards too. Zero problems. Admittedly, that was many years ago and cost a lot less money.
Now to only find a reliable wife. LOL
@@acolit1 hard to find in USA .
@@stedye Probably easier winning the lottery LOL
@@acolit1 hahahha!
Noticed the prayer mat in the back. Assalaam alaykum my brother. Its great that Scotty doesnt discreminate.
You’re so entertaining Scotty! Plus, I’m learning something 👍
your statement is short but
precise.Scotty is the real deal.
Got my Highlander AWD leather 3 row seats for 40K new. Drives like a charm! Love it!
Great vehicle
My mom was looking for one just like that but we couldn’t find any. Ended up buying RAV4 XLE Premium for 31k, and while it’s not as nice as the highlander or other cars in its class, it is basic transportation
Almost bought a Highlander hybrid before getting the 2022 MDX. Problem was the driver seat was uncomfortable for me because it was short without any thigh support. My previous Highlander had a built in thigh extender but I guess they decided to leave it off to save a few $$. Killed the deal for me. I had two previous Highlanders that were very comfortable and reliable. After a year with the MDX I am very satisfied. It’s comfortable and fun to drive. I get 19 mpg around town and 25 mpg on the highway. Only wish would be to reduce road noise. It isn’t bad but is typical of Honda.
My brother has a new RDX. My God, what such good vehicles.
The 2022/2023 are beautiful.
This month's videos things better than a Alexis lol keep em coming Scotty
Just over 6 months of ownership and I love the new 2022 mdx
I have a 06 MDX as well yes it does get as well 17 MPG, drives well, I do all maintenance keep proper air in the tires, try not to carrying lots of stuff in the trunk, I like the car, but the gas miles kills me and it has 170.000 miles made in Canada
Especially now that gas prices doubled, or more like in my country. I know people spending $400 sometimes more on gas a month
I thought this was an audi and scotty was signifying end times being near
Lol
My 2022 MDX Technology got poor mileage until about 6500 miles. Now in suburban around town I get from 17 to 18.5 mpg with premium fuel and 26 mpg cruising at near 80 mph and over 27 cruising at 75. I’m a very happy MDX owner. My tech model cost about 5600 all in and has everything I want except the 360 camera. The Milano leather perforated seats don’t need active ventilation and are the most comfortable I’ve tried. Great car for a very reasonable price.
Love Acura and Honda products. They understand their customers well and give you lots of car for the money.
I had an Acura Legend many, many moons ago. It was an awesome car for its time. Maybe it's time to consider getting another Acura. Other than the gas mileage, this is an impressive vehicle.
I would rather get a Honda Passport or Odyssey, but I currently own a Japanese made Lexus, so I’m good for the next 20 yrs!
Yep love my 08 gs350 solid ride only 120k on it
@@derekquinones8614 Nice! I used to own an 07 GS350 AWD… one of the best cars I’ve ever owned! I miss that car!
Got a 2024 MDX Advance for work and put 30k on a year so I’m in the car a ton of time and I’m blown away by the comfort in the seats and handling with this wishbone suspension. I easily get 26.5 mpg doing 62 mph on state roads and 23.5 mpg doing 80 mph on the Interstate, so the combined rating of 21 mpg (19 mpg city) has been spot on for me.
Awesome video. TYVM
my 2002 Lexus LS430 Ultra luxury has those same tilt mirrors😁
Probably the best car ever made. 👍
@@glennwisse6271 nope that’s the Legend. LS just a Benz copy. As a meter of fact the 190E and 1990 S class may be the best cars ever made
@@rahimi4762 nope
Always a pleasure bringing my vehicles to you Scotty!
ما شاء الله، يعطيكم خيرها و يكفيكم شرها 😁
When I saw a prayer mat in the back all rolled up I know this is a good man. Stay blessed my brother!
My 2018 Honda Pilot Elite got 29 mpg on a trip from Utah to Wyoming.
I have this car I love this I have the pearl white and I got to say the one thing I noticed is that the lane assist could be better, but other than that it’s perfect and to me the steering is the perfect amount of stiff when accelerating and sounds so good
Oh and the little track pad to control the stereo is dumb I think when you want to start a route it’s kinda slow so using voice control is a must and it’s okay on gas I get about 19.2 miles per gallon I drive a combination of street and highway every day
I got 2 Acura RL and Acura TL beautiful reliable cars 🙂👍👍👍
Local mileage about 16-17.
10-speed compensates for the size and gives it good acceleration. At the same time, it starts decelerating as soon as you take foot off the pedal, (starts down shifting). Takes a little getting used to.
The Walk-away back closing is kinda cool when taking stuff out from the back.
Cargo space only second to Pilot. Cargo board flippable, also can be raised to level the floor (and not just deep as in the video).
Brake hold feature is excellent for stop and go traffic. Allows to take foot off accelerator when you come to a complete stop.
HUD accommodates when using directions.
Unlike in other cars, Accident avoidance does not slow down the car (except when it is in dynamic cruise control) with flash and beep. I like that as I know it will not suddenly decelerate on its own because of some shadows.
no Made in Japan. MDX only made in Ohio.
Is the mdx sold anywhere but the US? If not it makes sense why it's only made there.
@@Notthetimeforit it's sold in kuwait 🇰🇼
@@Notthetimeforit watch Scotty’s videos on Honda -Acura/ Toyota-Lexus comparison. I think it is one of those. I would have thought Acura and Lexus are mostly for US Canada market.
@@vahkurama good to know. I would think, mileage is not an issue there.
@@blueeight5573 not really, I think it's probably 20$ to fill it up 95.
I love how Scotty blasts Jeep but my GC Overland gets 18-20MPG with almost 300HP
My brother in law has a 2015 MDX, and my sister has a 2017 RDX, both are very happy with them.
The new Honda/Accura vehicles are great however most of the 4 cylinder engines have a turbo. Turbos generally DO NOT last as long as the engines
I drive a 08 RDX with a 2.3 turbo with 130k miles on it. Spent about 150$ total on some minor repairs in last two years. Drives like a dream, no issues with that turbo.
Lexus is the most reliable brand on paper, I've seen them over 300k miles still running good.
Lexus and Acura are Toyota and Honda basically. So their luxury brands are amongst the most reliable.
Definitely a great car unfortunately one major take away for me is the gear selector, bring back the console shift and then it'll be a sure buy for me
You get used to it.
Better than the Mercedes shifter on the steering column. I kept trying to turn on my wipers and would put the car in neutral for the first year I owned it.
Long live Scotty !!! The mechanic I wish I had :)
All of my Acura’s have over 300k. And I work as a CNC machinist for Mercedes in Alabama 🤣🤣🤣
What's your thoughts on the Mercedes, overall?
@@canonet17 very good cars if you are the first owner
I really wish Honda would build a BIG v8 engine. It would immediately have an LS level following. If they could make a nice 7L V8 with Honda reliability-- it would change the world.
When the vtec kicks in
I believe the NSX concept had a front mounted v10!
Change the world? Haha
With todays gas prices nobody wants it
Scotty is a great guy filled with knowledge and wisdom. ✌👍
I know, right? I just wish he could be a little more excited in his videos 🤣
5:30 those transmissions are insanely efficient but once they break all that money saved in efficiency goes out the window
