Former hairdresser here and I use Nioxin. The conditionner is actually a scalp conditionner, you’re supposed to apply it at your scalp and let it sit 3-5 min. I use to recommend clients to use nioxin conditionner at the scalp and a more moisturizer condition for the length.
@@frayaannette286 conditionner is normally made just for the end. But this specific one is a scalp conditioner. I don’t think it will regrow hair or stop loosing them but I use it cause it gives me volume and keep the scalp clean from nasties that could clog the hair follicle.
A week is not long enough to make a judgement. I personally have found that there is a significant difference in my hair thickness around a month of use. Also, the conditioner is specifically a scalp product, it does not say to apply it from mid length to ends, it always says to apply from roots to tips. I find that the conditioner is super concentrated so a little goes a long way.
I've been using this for about 9 months to a year and I can tell a significant difference. Compared to pics before I started it, I can see a huge difference. I'm a 36 year old man BTW.
The entire Nioxin range is focused on scalp condition, hence their shampoo is labelled a scalp cleanser and the conditioner :"scalp therapy", so the conditioner would be used on the scalp as part of the step treatment to improve hair loss. The research shows that the product removes dihydrotestosterone from the hair follicles, which is one of the main causes of hair loss in particular with men..... Though it's not designed as a moisturising product to improve the condition of hair, but certainly slows down hair loss remarkably ..
My hairdresser told me if you start using something like Nioxin now when you have mild thinning that it will help long term from hair loss or thinning. Do you feel you agree cause I’m on fence about starting to buy this stuff every month or so but I’m doing my research and most have been positive. what’s ya think?
I’m not going to let this review keep me from trying it because it just seems like you were against it from the moment you opened your mouth before even trying it .
I use number 4. It works really well. My hair stylist noticed how well it working. I add a leave in conditioner after I shower. I also have dermatitis and it help it instead of they typical coal based shampoos.
Ah, amazing to know! So, follow up question: Do you use it based on hair condition, or based on you just needing more moisture? So glad it's helping you! :)
Sorry so many posts... But my scalp will get very dry on nioxin so it will make me want to add the conditioner...so the conditioner tingles and treats the scalp if you use it from root to end
I’ve used this in the past and it was not effective for regrowth at all for me. I think the new bottles even state that it isn’t meant to treat hereditary hairloss. My sister used it for years with no affect on her hairloss either. Hopefully it helps some women.
Hi Beverly! True, yes, it is not for hairloss despite people's hopes and wishes. The box says absolutely nothing to that end, just some stats on how people "feel" about it. Thanks for leaving a comment, I know this will help others considering it! :)
I've been using it again lately bc it has helped in the past. I've been using retin a for skin problems too and I figured my scalp was having the same problems. I've experienced the same kind of "purge" on my scalp as I have on my face so I take that as a sign it's working at least to remove the gunk off my scalp. When I take close ups of my face, I can see actual layers of stuff coming off since I've started the retin-a so I really think this seborrheic stuff is on my head skin too
Try a shampoo & conditioner from the UK called grown me, the brand is called WATERMANS. For dandruff or dermatitis on scalp and or on face try Nizoral shampoo. ☺
I use the number 2 shampoo and conditionner+ 3d intense serum and they really worked for my hair loss, hair thinning,i love the scent and the sensation after every use, my scalp now feels clean and breathing, the dryness was only for the first weeks of use,me too i get my hair supplies from Mat&Max 🙂🙂🙂
Ask your hair professionals for a REAL review. I tell my clients to use something 4-8 weeks to see a real difference. 4 washes is just ridiculous. Also- I always put some conditioner on my scalp…. It’s skin… it needs moisture…. When you go to school and actually learn details on this topic, you would know.
Just Rogaine. A normal shampoo and conditioner. No serums etc, that's it. No LED devices...literally just Rogaine. Watch some of my new videos and you'll see :)
Hey I have been using nioxin on and off for 20 something years and I just wanted to let you know that the scalp spring is made so that you could lift portions of your hair up and spray that right at your scale it's supposed to be sprayed directly at your scalp not like in your hands first let you know I like your channel thanks bye
You did this wrong, this conditioner is specifically for the roots to complement the shampoo and you need to use an actual conditioner on the ends. That's why your hair turned out dry. You should redo his video with correct application.
Thank you for the great review Helen. I ended up returning mine. It was soo drying.I used the #3 and still was not enough moisture for my dry curly hair. I did not like it at all. Have a great week!
I just bought this and the shampoo is foamy if you do it 2 time ..the first time it clean all the oil and dirt so it dont foam but the 2nd time its really foamy and you dont need that much shampoo on the 2nd time .. And the mint oil in the conditioner is because its a scalp conditioner you are supposed to put it on your scalp first and then on your ends ☺️ for me its the treatment that was weird .. I put it on my roots when my hair was still damp then dryed it with my hair dryer .. They look good my hair is super shinny but when i touch the roots around my face ( under the top layer) they feel weird .. Like when you put dry shampoo 🤨 i will see tomorow morning if the feeling is gone after i slept on it 🤔☺️
For nioxin, I wanna ask everything time After use the shampoo then we should use the conditioner next ? or probably we just need to use the conditioner one or two times per week ?
I use Biotin shampoo and conditioner and it males mynhair look fuller Imhgighly doubt is does anything for regrowth but make my thinning new top, hair looks fuller.

I just used it and the leave-in treatment turned my skin RED HOT and flashy everywhere the spray or my hair touched my skin except for my scalp. 😔

Good to know! It doesn't say that anywhere on the box or the bottle, or else I would have tried that too!
TY for letting us know! I typically just apply conditioner to my ends.

Good to hear just started hope I get results too

I thought they have the monoxidil that you can add to the treatment?
It’s not meant to regrow hair from hair loss it’s meant to give the hair you do have more volume and prevent more hair loss .
It regrew mine big time after Covid but I used the scalp treatment which has minoxidil
The conditioner bottle literally says to put the conditioner on your scalp. Don’t know if this is a great review.
If you read the directions on the conditioner it does say to apply from roots to tips...

so in 2024 what are you using for thinning hair
Just Rogaine. A normal shampoo and conditioner. No serums etc, that's it. No LED devices...literally just Rogaine. Watch some of my new videos and you'll see :)
Reason I decided to use Nioxin as recommended by a hairedresser was because he said all mainstream shampoos have silicone and this one does not?
I'm assuming you using the scalp treatment spray it's not for styling at all it's for spraying directly at your head
yeah exactly!
In order for this to work it’s best if used everyday! Minoxidil topical nioxin scalp treatment in is a must to make it work

Iv been using this for 3 months and have suddenly had huge amounts of hair falling out. Is this a norm??
yikes
I'm scared I've been using rogaine and it looks worst. Is that normal?
Honestly after I stopped using conditioner on my scalp I see more hair fall.
I’ve got nioxin 5 and my scalp burns is this normal I’m new to it
Its full of some sort of minty extract so perhaps? But burning is not good. Have you joined my newsletter yet? helenavery.substack.com/
@@HelenAvery it’s not like a horrible burning sensation but my scalp goes read and my hairline where I put it and my family are saying I’m allergic
It been around more than 20 years. I used it in the 90's.
Hey!! What if we stop using it after our hair get thicker and get back to using our regular shampoo?
Yes

Random question but is the liquid in cleanser shampoo 1 green/blue or clear because got some of Amazon and think it might be fake :)

The scalp treatment makes my hair crunchy and and dry, also groups my hair together making it appear super thing :/
here in Greece the whole system costed me 20.00 euros.
Tried it compared to other conditionals. It help then my hair started alott of breakage. So I decided not to use it any more.

Very nice, detailed video!
Can you link the video where you explain what DOES stop hair loss? And what do you mean you Wah bottom up?
Long video, a lot of talking ... wasn't helpful
No kidding a review is seen after months not 4 washes🙄
Loved your video ! Please let me know which shampoo is the best for hair nioxin ???
Honestly, it's whatever shampoo works best with your hair type. Everyone is a little different! :)
I use the one for color treated so it’s not as drying
That's what I'll be trying next time! Thanks for leaving a comment! :)
Ive had it for 6 months didn't find it drying but it didn't deliver any results ☹
Hi Louise, thanks for the comment! Good to know, I hope reading your comment tempers people's expectations for hair loss shampoos ;)
@@HelenAvery I've tried the watermans one aswel for 6 months it did nothing either.
I feel the same about the condicioner
Yes! It doesn't do that much. :)
