I have used this system for years and it really is effective. The scalp treatment is not just a conditioner for the hair strands as if used only for that it is light. Most people who have thin hair do not need anything but a light conditioner or it weighs it down. The scalp treatment is for the scalp. There is much research about peppermint oil (which is main ingredient) causing just as much regrowth in 6 months as Rogaine. Look in PUBMED. You have to use it consistently to the scalp and let it sit on the scalp for 3-5 minutes. Otherwise, it won't be effective.
Thank you so much for your review. I have been using the Nioxin System 1. I bought it on recommendation from my hair stylist for hair loss. i have fine, thin hair and these products have definitely helped regrowth happen within a 3 month period. The products are supposed to be used everyday to have quicker effect and all 3 products must be used together. It can also be used every other day, so progress on growth will be a bit slower. You also should not use any other products (shampoo, conditioner, treatment) in between while using this. I do however once a week, use a masking conditioner from another range on dampened hair and I leave it on for about half hour to an hour, before washing my hair with this product. The leave in treatment does stimulate the hair growth and for me it does not make my hair feel sticky, because its massaged into scalp as a scalp treatment. I really did not think it would help, but it certainly has. I will, however continue using it for 6 months and see how it goes. So, for me in the meantime, this product has major thumbs up.
I take FOOD GRADE Diatomaceous earth everyday mixed in my juice. I take 2 tbsp. Use a plastic or wooden spoon to mix not metal. Its high in silica and other minerals. My hair everywhere is growing. Even mix some in my facial wash everyday. My eyebrows and eyelashes are even slightly fuller. I just was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism so hopefully the thyroid medication will help restore even more of my hair
@@LeslieBTv you can go to any healthfood store and get it. Remember that you are looking for the food grade version. Minerals. You can also get trace minerals eich are in the liquid form. Both work great.
@@mememe217 yes I get the Harris brand food grade diatomaceous earth. We order a 4 lb bag online from Walmart. They don't sell it in the store only online. Update to my comment. I got my DE dose up to 8-12 tbsp a day temporarily and I had alot of health improvements. I am off my thyroid medication and my labs are normal. My chronic constipation improved. My liver enzymes are in normal range. I lost 20 lbs and several inches of bloating. All of these things happened in less than a years time. I am still taking it. I take 4 tbsp a day as a maintenance dose. I take it after a meal mixed in a little bit of prune juice.
Thanks for sharing, my testimony; I was at that age. Several years ago; when my hair started getting thinner. I was told to try using. Nixon root lifter. It actually worked, plus my hair became healthier also. This product it actually, stopped the thinning, and saved my hair. Now some years ago, I stopped using it. And recently wanted to, start getting that thickness back. For some reason, I can't find the root lifter. Was the name change? Or was the product Discontinued??
density is not growing more hair. Density is about the size of a single strand of hair . There saying the single strands of hair feeling or appearing fuller.
Density is actually growing more hair per area. Thickness is determined per singular strand. If the hair strand itself is coarse "thick" or fine "thin" . You can have fine hair with high or low density and you can have thick hair with high or low density.
Yes, it's safe for color treated hair. I don't think you need to pair it with Olaplex unless you feel like your hair is getting dried out, in which case you may want to use a higher Nioxon system number, like 4, 5, or 6.
Thanks for your excellent review...it really cleared up a lot of questions I had. I felt the same way about the conditoner. And the shampoo is definitely cleaning my scalp better than any I've used. The scalp treatment foam I was only using while I slept as I have curly hair and don't blow dry it so... it was yuck to use for my hairstyling routine. But I was thinking and hoping that it may help keep anymore thinning from happening IF my thinning was scalp related and not hereditary. I think you are probably correct...that it just plumps up the roots or hair follicles. So again..thanks so much as you did a great job and an honest one. Best wishes with your hair issues...and btw..your hair looks great and like you don't ned to worry.. but knowledge is power and you are staying prepared for whatever lies ahead and learning 😊
Aww thank you so much! I can only share my experience, but I wholeheartedly agree with everything you mentioned, and yuck is a good way of describing how the scalp treatment felt lol.
The foam scalp treatment is for people who have less hair, like it's noticeably bald. It has an ingredient to protect the scalp from sun damage which is why you have that yuk reaction. Its for the scalp only not the hair. The girl doing this video should be using the liquid treatment not the foam one. I totally agree that it's great for psoraisis
System 3 is for coloured hair or chemically treated hair. There's no way that nioxin shampoo dries your hair out, whereas the bleaching process she gets will.
I had that trouble too. Zinc, Magnesium and Folate is good for hair. Also Vitamin E Or Try taking prenatal vitamins as it's double the amount in the pill. Lots of water and try using btge Tek Hairbrush if you haven't already.
Did you check your iron levels? I lost half of my hair and had bold spots on the sides due to low iron, what helped me is microneedling scalp and Rosemary water and oil
Did your hair grow back? I was on iron pills for over a year and a half and I have bald spots on the sides of my head so right now it looks like baby hair there did your hair grow back after all of this.
I have just started using Nioxin #3. I have lots of highlights and have been losing more strands than normal. I have been using the shampoo for about a month now (washing my hair twice a week or so) and I have noticed my hair is falling out even more.. is this normal? It’s making me want to stop using it, but I have read that it can do that since it’s losing the dead hair to make room for regrowth. Did you experience this as well? Since it is drying I wash my hair first with this shampoo and then use biosilk silk therapy shampoo and finish with olaplex hair mask as my conditioner. Please let me know your thoughts if you have time! Thanks.
I definitely don't think it causes hair loss. The shedding stage of hair can last for months. This shampoo just does a good job of providing a great environment on the scalp for the hair to grow. It is a little drying, so I usually use it every other or every third wash alternating with the Olaplex shampoo.
not sure just using the shampoo alone will cause a huge difference, besides a healthier scalp have you always washed your hair only twice a week? the fewer times I wash my hair the more hair fall I see just because it's not so spread out
Honestly I'm feeling the same way in vain as she is.. I am a man and balding is natural and more acceptable for us males, but either way It's unattractive and nothing is better than having thick hair that reaches your hairline, for both men and women, people want to feel confident in a way

Plus Regaine has ingredients that at worst can cause impotence, nioxin is safe to use. As with all new products an allergy test should be carried out
I use Rogaine now and no, Rogaine doesn't cause impotence.
@@jenniferannfox2316 you misconstrued what i said, there's an ingredient in Regaine that can cause impotence, i didn't say it did.

Isn’t Diatomaceous earth a flea/ bed bug killer ? 😳

Is that true olaplex makes your hair fall out?
Happened to me. And there’s a fb group with over 18,000 others.
As of a year ago I have no edges and recently started using this ... So we'll see
How is it going?!

Oh gosh she talks too much
You so vain crying over hair loss is not that important
Are you kidding me??? Hair loss for women is a devastating and traumatic experience for woman to go through. What an insensitive comment
