Hi Helen. You are correct about Curly Girls. This is not for us . If you remember I tried Level 3 for one week and my hair felt like straw. Hope all is well.
I have very curly hair and system 3 didn't make my hair feel like straw. Only way this would be if you were using system 2 or 4 as the mousse conditioner (scalp therapy) had sun block in it too protect the bald areas from sun damage. If you've not got noticeably thinning or bald spots, you shouldn't be using system 2 or 4
This lady has coloured hair so straight away should be using system 3 or 4. Plus looking at the video she's got fine to medium density so should be using system 3. As with all chemically treated hair, you need to use conditioner. Fir the ladies saying their hair ended up like straw, was it bleached or high lifted by any chance? I've personally used Nioxin since 2002, and on clients also. The system is a scalp cleanser. So basically where you have a clean surface, new hair can grow. The conditioner, aka scalp therapy, can be used daily. It's designed to soak up excess oil, so unlike ordinary conditioners can be used on the scalp instead of midlength and ends. Ibelieved in this product so much that i would give the starter kit away for free. Every single client returned after the month to buy more..
Hi I’m new to your channel thanks for the info.i was asking my hairdresser what the best product for hair loss would be and she recommended nioxin saying it contained minoxidil and her husband had a patchy spot and it really helped him unless she meant it made it thicker but you’re saying it can’t do anything for hair growth so I guess I’m wondering if she’s giving me accurate information or maybe something I’m missing and actually I am subscribed to the hair loss show .Have gotten some interesting tips from that channel
I have bleached my hair a lot and the hair stylist recommended number 4 😬I hope it’s ok, by the way I’ve used this before right after I had my son( had not bleached my hair yet) and it took me close to a year to see a difference but it does work, it took time but it really worked for me. 10 years later I am using it again because I’m loosing hair again ( after COVID) and my scalp is extremely oily with extremely dry ends. We’ll see how this work this time around.
I find nioxin 2 scalp treatment really sticky, like there's wax in my hair. Have you heard this from anywhere else? (I've used system 1 for 6 months with no complaints)
I think it makes your hair feel nasty and sticky too. Can't even try to comb through it or style it. Feels like you washed your hair with bar soap and no conditioner.
System 2 is only for those who have noticeably thinning or bald spots. There's sun screen in the mousse to protect the scalp and shouldn't be applied to the hair
Hi there, I used to have blonde hair years ago and the last time I dyed my hair was black in February of 2020. Could you help me decide which system to get?
OMG! Thank you so much for this. I have been looking into Nioxin but it is so confusing because of all the numbers LOL. That really helped me understand this whole humongous range. I don’t have a lot of hair loss, my hair is very long and very straight and I do have enough moisture and softness in my hair. only thing I want is to have more girth, diameter and density that would make my hair look thicker. Which one would you recommend for that? I was thinking of getting number two but then I do have some highlights so I was thinking maybe I should get a number six because moisture is not going to hurt my hair. I’m not sure. Also does it make your hair strands really thick or it just make them appear to be thick? Would they stop looking thicker if you stop using the product? I hope this makes sense, I’m all over the place LOL. I loved your video, thank you for this XX
It doesn't make the hair strand appear thicker, like other brand do. What is does is cleanses the scalp and follicle bed of all debris which in turn allows more strands to grow out of that single follicle bed. Each follicle bed has around 3-4 strands growing from it. With a build up of gunk, so to speak, it stops those hair follicles growing, so instead of 3-4, you get 1-2. Nioxin works by firstly cleansing the scalp and follicle bed of all debris, then moisturising the scalp so it becomes softër in order to allow more strands to grow through the softened scalp. The treatment works by strengthening the hair under the scalp, at the root. Within a month you should notice less hair in the shower. N.B. we lose roughly 50-100 hairs on a daily basis, as per the length of your hair so it's okay to think you're losing so much more. Plus, how many people brush their hair before washing it? Doing so gets rid of the hairs that are naturally ready to fall out. Our hair goes through 3 stages, anagen, catogen and telogen, please excuse any mistakes in the words, been a while since ive used them. Those words explain the stages of the hair, from resting, shedding and growing which obviously happens at different times in different areas of the hair.
Well. My hormones are perfect. Thyroid, all others good... trouble, my immune system. My doctor said start using shampoo to possibly help me. But I’m worried. If my immune system is attacking my hair would it truly except a chemical to grow hair? I love my doctor. But he’s old. And I honestly do not trust half of what he says. And I never take pills he offers. I’m nervous but my hair... omg. My hair... 😑
Hi! Shampoos don't do anything, really, as much as I hate to contradict a doctor. You can have a look at my Instagram and mostly women comment how the shampoos might be nice, but ultimately didn't help their hair regrowth. Sigh! Immune system issues come from the inside. Just pick a shampoo you like, in my experience.
I have tried 3,4,and 5 and I color my hair once a month only . I can say that number 4 is the best. When airing and combing my hair, I've got only some hair loss (like 7-10 pieces) .
@@HelenAvery I use Lavender oil often, but what I do also I put essential oils in my shampoos and conditioners, these essential oils help with hair loss and hair growth, rosemary oil, cedarwood oil, peppermint oil, lavender oil, castor oil, I make my own recipe and then add it to my shampoo it helps alot....if you do some research you will see rosemary helps a lot....I even put it in my conditioner, when I shampoo I let it sit in my hair for awhile then rinse then condition and let that sit....its really good for scalp and folicles...
@@alevan1 I love using Rosemary oil for my hair. It has really helped with volume and moisture. I mix a few drops with Almond oil and use it as a hair treatment before I shampoo twice a week.
Im having trouble deciding on 4 or 6 . I have naturally dark brown hair. I recently had partial blond highlights done. Im not sure if my hair was bleached before the blond was put on or if he just used the blond alone. Its my own fault, I was to busy yapping and scrolling through my phone, that I wasnt payinga any attention to what was being done to my hair LOL. What number would you suggest ?
There is no way for you to get blonde highlights on dark brown hair without bleach. If you have highlights, then your hair was bleached. Colour does not lighten hair, only bleach and developer lighten hair. If you put blonde “colour” on dark brown hair, it will not show up.
How would I use the scalp and hair treatment stuff? I know you don't recommend it but I already bought the kit so I might as well give it a try. Would it be after I get out of the shower? Should my hair still be wet? Or is it more for before bed? My hairs thin so I don't usually use products cuz it'll make me greasy.. I'm so confused 😕
You use the treatment after washing and condition your hair. Make sure it's toweldried and apply treatment to roots only. It should make the area look quite red due to stimulating the blood supply but it'll wear off in a short while.
Plus use the treatment every time you wash your hair, you can also use it at night as the follicles will open up and as such it will be absorbed more into your system
Now this!!!! Is a REVIEW!!! Thank you, this was highly informative and thoroughly explained.🥰
Glad it was helpful!:)

You're welcome! I know, that's kinda the most important part of the shampoo formulation (for me, anyway!) :)

Leave the conditioner on your scalp up to 5 minutes as it absorbs the excess oil, only do this if the coolness doesn't feel like it's 'burning' you.
Plus why did your style recommend no4, do you have any noticeable bald spots, if not no 3 would be better
What color is the system 2 shampoo? Is it green???
Have you tried their new advanced serum?
I have not! I don't use many of these types of products these days. Have you tried it?
@@HelenAvery , I haven’t, but a dermatologist on RUclips, Dr. Jenny Liu, recommended it yesterday.

It takes about 5 months for the hairs natural growth cycle to return
