The fact that the rosy cheeks connect Balloon Boy to the Sister Location animatronics is MORE proof that he's a lure. If they all have different functions that make them lure/kidnap children, why wouldn't Balloon Boy?
My same thought. Why I watching their video through gtlive cause when I tried watch alone just few things too far a stretch. But seemed like would be fun to watch with someone like matpat. And it is.
But yeah Balloon Boy I agree with you. And he such an easy lure for little kids with his balloon. Like Baby with her ice cream.
Yea and I’m not sure I agree with MatPat’s reasoning that William would still be doing his own luring/killing. I may watch too much Criminal Minds, but it makes more sense to me that William would want to hide that the same perpetrator is targeting kids, he would want to remove himself away from suspicion as much as possible while also continuing his “work”.
Balloon Boy luring kids away with treats and balloons makes way too much sense to me. It actually makes way more sense to me than it being a lure for Afton himself- he would recognize Balloon Boy’s voice and its purpose, why would he follow it? He knows it’s not a person or a security guard, he would know it was a distraction.
@@jesoko6724it’s not a lure for afton, it’s a lure for the springtrap animatronic which William can’t override. That’s why he replaces parts of the suit with Fredbear parts so he no longer follows lures against his will

It doesn’t change my opinion on MatPat’s opinion about Afton doing his own killing. I think he’s too smart for that.

I think what Mat needs to do is to watch this theory in it's entirety after this is done because it's kind of like reading a book where you lose bits and pieces each time you resume. It's very coherent but watching it incoherently is... you know, gonna make it seem in like it's jumbled up. He's definitely getting caught up on small details that have been or will get explained, so like I said Matpat, PLEASE rewatch this one day in it's entirety without interruptions

@@tobysinbad Yeah unfortunately. Its also a matter of is he even interested in it enough or is he just gonna watch it once for the fans and then move on with his life. Regardless we don't have a say in if he does or doesn't but it'd make their effort not go to waste 😩
Definitely yeah. This video felt like being in math class as a kid and you keep passing despite not fully getting it until one day you're in Algebra 2 with zero idea what's going on. Enough small details have been lost since watching the previous parts that it seems like Matt didn't really get this one. I don't agree with everything about this theory but some of Matt's rebuttals don't really understand the points being made and also seem to be forgetting bits of established lore. The biggest one for me being his suggestion that Afton's funtime experiments continued after getting spring locked. By my understanding that just cannot be true in the game timeline. He was locked in the safe room from the time it got sealed until being discovered by Fazbear Frights. Imo that's pretty explicit in FNAF 3 and it would take some extremely heavy handed evidence to convince me they've retconned that.

I think the reason he wouldn’t be using the yellow suit when killing kids in the fnaf 2 location could be because at this time, Henry is still in prison after being framed for the MCI. Henry was the only other person who the police seemed to think was trained enough or knew the suits well enough to use them for the killings. The only other person being William. So in my mind, if he continued using the suit for the killings while Henry was in prison and risked getting seen by someone or on a camera, they’d immediately know it was him rather than just some guy wearing an employee outfit.
Wait am I being dumb or is their evidence for Henry being convicted is from fnaf 1 but is fnaf two not before one chronologically so therefore a day shift gaurd under suspicion in two might have been the one convicted on the fnaf one mci poster
@@thecrazypotato7268While the posters are in FNAF 1, the newspapers almost certainly were from before the games took place. Based on everything we know, the actual games (not including the mini games) all took place after the MCI. Those newspapers were made while the MCI was occurring.
@@thecrazypotato7268 The gameplay of fnaf 1 is after the gameplay of fnaf 2 but the fnaf 1 MCI happens before the fnaf 2 murders in 1987 because the fnaf 1 location was founded in 1983 so Henry would have been convicted already.

And also him going against the Balloon Boy explanation because the books have the Woodcarver, but the books are only to support ideas based in the games. Woodcarver isn't really in the games.
@@Drave_Jr. I think his point there was that Balloon Boy seemed to him to be a very old animatronic, seeming like it was made of wood, or at least had that aesthetic. Though the woodcarver isn't in the games, it would support the idea that Balloon Boy was a very early animatronic prototype of sorts. However, he then also draws parallels to the rosy cheeks of the other funtimes, which just contradicts that point he was trying to make lol
I think matpat forgot that in the original MCI, the “culprit” was caught and convicted, and what the people in the video assume is the bunny suit was caught on camera in that first incident, so that’s why he wouldn’t have it in the second incident at fnaf 2 location, to distance from that. So that’s why I think the balloon boy thing makes more sense than Matpat thinks it does

...you mean outside of the fact that he could have told Michael about the sister location before getting spring locked? Like we are told Michael was told where that was and only William knows
In the video they explain it as the springlocking happened on a different night when he came to retrieve the spring bonnie suit
i mean, he may have told michael beforehand in a “hey, if you don’t hear about me for a long period of time, please take care of this thing for me just in case”, kind of a backup plan - william wouldn’t be aware of what would happen to him but he had a plan in place in case things turned bad and he wasn’t able to continue the work directly. michael would know what to do while william would still be trapped.
53:30 to be fair the point you pointed out here doesn't really contradict what they're suggesting at all. if anything it supports it. They're saying afton made BB as a lure to commit his murders and your pointing out that his design style is very similar to what we see in the bunker full of afton's creations. That sounds like supporting evidence to me

ikr? if anything, i’d feel that BB being a lure for children while also being created at the same time the SL bunker was in use finally ties (atleast for me) why him and baby have these circus designs. BB lures the children to baby and she snatches them and grinds them up. i’ve always felt BB doesn’t match the new shiny designs of his FNAF 2 counterparts

He is very relevant, for sure. If he really originates from carnival era, he might be the first animatronic. Yes, he is a lure, Afton definitely was using him as one, but it doesn't mean he wasn't a main attraction in company early days.

Technically, calcium is a metal; so this legitimately explains any potential animated skeletons that might show up in FNAF lore.

It's a cover, just like the whole "they walk around at night to keep their servos from locking up" was a cover for the classic animatronics being extremely very much haunted

I think it's a combination. They have a database a.i that contacts the police when they see something.
But because of the ghosts being in the robots, they just attack while that system goes haywire (Mangle's system is calling the police while it is preparing to attack)
The cops and the company don't know that ghosts exist, so they think the database part is faulty. Then they find the bodies, and think that the robots are haywire because of that. Then the "yellow suit from the back" is used, and they completely go haywire. (Which is when the company decides that it is time to temporarily shut down)

im almost impressed that matpat didnt know mangles static was a police call, i remember all sorts of fact videos talking about how its all slowed down and trying to compare it with lore at the time
More specifically, it's the police car radio sound. As in, that the sound the radio makes while on idle mode. It isn't the sound of the call or dispatch but the sound of the radio.
I mean if you listen long enough, you can actually hear what sounds lice police chatting about an incident (Which is about a little boy missing his frontal lobe)

Micheal saw his father do something and knew he was evil (started seeing him as springtrap, his evil persona), but no one else saw William as evil yet, so Micheal was alone to think he was crazy

The video basically straight up said that. "When no one can tell his father's been replaced with a yellow rabbit, he decides to play along."
Maybe we should follow this thought to the end. If it's actually a parallel, maybe Mike specifically saw the missing children's incident, like into the pit?

MatPat, the sound Mangle makes is a connection to Police Band RADIO. Similar to the CB Radio's used by truck drivers.
it is confirmed that parts of the old animatronics are in the toys. also pretty sure the toys are allowed to walk around at night because of the whole servos locking up thing, not because of their security measures, cause yknow they're still hiring a night guard

54:06 I think MatPat slightly miss interpreted this part, from my understanding of what Dual Process was saying is that William figured out that the Puppet was specifically Charley, and that something was different about her compared to the other animatronics.
Thank you that's exactly what I was about to point out and wanted to see if others had caught that. Matt definitely misinterpreted what was said.
I don’t think that was the point of his statement, he paused there, but he’s talking about the entire section. He’s saying he doesn’t under why William is only NOW realizing that animatronics are moving when earlier in the video they mentioned William knowing possession is possible.
This is more because the video jumps around the timeline a lot, so it’s hard to keep up with where in the timeline they are.
the question is, if that's the case, why not get rid of her off the bat?? maybe he doesn't think a lanky animatronic can destroy his "scheme", or maybe he just takes it as "this is real evidence that what i'm doing can work" ?

It’s odd with how detail oriented Matt seem to be that he gets the details of Dual Process’ points mixed up in each of these reactions videos

keep in mind making and orating videos is waaaay different from live reaction where you need to hold everything in your brain. when he makes a video hes got a script checked and written by multiple people
@@TeaserTravlein No, for sure, I get that. It's just frustrating I guess to see the friction between MatPat's persona of "I am the authority on FNAF knowledge, and I am logically critiquing their theory" and the reality of him not being able to follow the steps of DP's theory on an analytical level and confusing what they're saying.
He's a smart cookie, and I hope he re-watches their theory video (not broken up into parts) at some point. I think also the blocks of time between viewing sessions is a compounding factor.
I understand it can be hard to follow. It would be really cool for him to have them on stream so they have a discussion about everything.
Also he looks like he has TDAH considering how he gets easily distracted playing games. If you see his and Markplier aren't that different they just have different hyperfocus while playing, Mark normally trying to hurt anything that comes his way or discovering ways to die while Matt looks for lore in all small details that he can miss the major jumpscare with lore. 🤷🤷
They definitely convinced me Micheal is the Vengeful Spirit, but I believe Cassidy (The Crying Child) is "The One You Should Not Have Killed," in Michael's eyes, as he punishes his father

So your saying that “The one you should not have killed” is Cassidy Afton, but the vengeful spirit is Micheal?
I just don’t think that can be the case because one of the voice lines in UCN states “He’s here, and always watching, the one you should not have killed.” Which would mean the vengeful spirit = to the one you should not have killed.
They would have to be one in the same. Because the rest of the MCI would be moving onto the happiest day, and Charlie/Puppet does not move on until the crying child can as well. So, Cassidy Afton wouldn’t be present in UCN if Micheal is the vengeful spirit. So he could not be “here and always watching”
@quinintheclouds Their stated reason for Ballon Boy being a lure doesn't make sense for that part of the lore, thus Mat saying it doesn't work.
@@fern8804I mean another way to see this is that both Michael and Cassidy are in purgatory but only Michael is the one doing the torturing while Cassidy just can't move out of bitter hatred for his old man.
If we are to follow Dual theory Michael has to be the one doing the torturing because he is the only one that could have seen the nightmare animatronics if we track their theory in its entirety.
Also Charlie also being in purgatory will explain much better why Henry is there as old man consequences is not just because he is a good guy but because his daughter refuses to move on and his daughter refuses to move on untill Cassidy does so he also tries to help Cassidy move on
And in the impossible mode with everything set on max that can also be explained with Michael showing William their father the EXACT person he should not have killed,
That line makes way more sense if Michael is the one doing the active torture while Cassidy is there just watching

I think that narratively speaking whoever was put through the nightmare gas experiments has to be the vengeful spirit that is keeping William in purgatory. From a story perspective that would be pretty much perfect. It would explain why that spirit specifically is more vengeful towards Willie, because they are doing to him what he did to them.
What I dont understand is how in the book it says that the nightmare gas caused the victim to hallucinate his surroundings. Yet, we can see the fnaf 4 house through the cameras just fine. Unless we are also somehow affected by the gas but it wouldn’t make sense. If crying child was hallucinating everything then we would see the fnaf 4 house differently through the cameras.

@hernanzamarripa686 books don't 1-1 line up with games, so that can be disregarded. And if Mike has been gassed, then he's only hallucinating the nightmares, while the house is there. It's their house, no need to create it with illusions

@@hernanzamarripa686 Dual process is saying that Michael is the one put through the fnaf 4 events and that the reason the crying child cries is because of other traumatic events like being locked with a dead body by Michael
who’s gonna tell him that they’ve already crossed the 4 hour mark when you combine the watch times of the three videos
1:07:20 as a huge fan of "Count The Ways", Millie (the protagonist) doesn't suffocate inside Funtime Freddy. The whole story, Freddy is telling her that she can pick the way she dies and, in the end, she chooses decapitation, to which Freddy shoves a metal sheet through his stomach to fulfil the request. People not finding her in time is a huge part of why she ends up dying (the ending is ambiguous but the epilogue proves that she did in fact die), but her death has nothing to do with suffocating.
I think he was conflating it with Find Player Two, which has a girl playing hide and seek suffocate in a cubby before anyone finds her.

43:40 The whole criminal database thing was likely a cover story since over the nights Phone Guy tells you that the Toy Animatronics are becoming progressively more aggressive and he also says that they're keeping the Withered Animatronics In the back to be used for spare parts, It would then make sense that the toys are getting more aggressive because some of their parts have agony In them from the Withers and that agony Is acting up because Afton Is around.
54:40 they said the suits where just showing weird behaviour, no where near full possession movements but definitely noticeable to the point where afton thought maybe it could work for his kid. It's after the true possession does afton know it works and starts figuring out how exactly that is

You were a bit confused about their timeline for the William discovering the haunted animatronics, here's a condensed version.
William kills the first kids for unclear reasons, he hides them in the animatronics. Then he notices the animatronics acting weird, figures out that they're haunted and decides to use Golden Freddy to bring back his son. When Golden Freddy doesn't immediately start acting like Cassidy, he assumes he was wrong and they're not haunted. Then he comes back in FNaF 2 to make sure nobody finds the bodies, he realises they actually are haunted and resumes his experiments except, this time, he doesn't put the kids in the animatronics so no more hauntings occur
*he kills the first kids in order to try and figure out how to "put them back together".
Basically he needs test subjects to try and figure out how he can "fix" his own child.
Hmm. Considering Balloon Boy as a lure, perhaps he's not a /direct/ lure, but a distraction lure. Get a kid interested in BB, then one of the others can grab them without much fuss. The fact BB is wood, could have been a conscious decision so that he WOULDN'T become possessed by Remnant or Agony.
I feel like afton as a kidnapper totally shows up in the games considering he lures these children during business hours, but then stuffs them in the animatronics, which are on the main stage at all times. In order to stuff these kids at night when he took them during the day, I'm sure he had them for several hours.

I think the reason people don't think about that too much is because of the confusion around Elizabeth's death that Matt discussed in this video. Was it intentional? To be accidental seems like an out of character level of incompetence for Afton. The SL death minigame seems to suggest it was an immediate and violent death and not a slow accidental suffocation. She definitely has that stomach grinder in the graphic novel. Personally, yeah, it definitely looks like the Funtimes were designed to kidnap but the whole Elizabeth incident introduces _juuuust_ enough ambiguity that you can say, "well maybe Billy just wanted the bodies idk,"

Something worth mentioning about the Toys having parts from the Withereds in them. Is the fact that it's confirmed that the remnant attaches itself to the metal, so if parts from the Withereds, the haunted animatronics, are put into the new ones, the Toys, then that would mean that they would also be connected to the spirits.
On top of that, it would mean that if they saw *anyone* not even just William, using the Bonnie outfit, it would immediately set off their criminal database sensors, and also would cause the restless spirits to all go haywire, thinking that the person in the Bonnie suit was William.
I love how MatPat says he has Phone Guy's calls memorized, then at 43:10 he's like "Is it confirmed that parts from the old animatronics are in the toys?" when literally Phone Guy says when he's talking about the withereds "We use them for parts now."

If I was a serial killer and I used a bunny suit to do my first spree, then they found out that it was someone in a yellow suit who did it. Personally, I think that a good idea for the major inciting incident of William killing kids is that he just needed to figure out how to put them back together. He probably wasn’t exactly well-versed in child anatomy, and then he just stuffed the suits to hide the bodies.

The parts of the withered are used to repair the toy animatronics.
After Fnaf 2 night 7, the toys are decomissioned. The OG parts of the toys are then used to recreate the animatronics for FNAF 1 gameplay.
The rest of the toys melted for remnant and put in the funtimes. FNAF 1 happens and Mike is then fired. The spirits are whole enough to follow him to the back room and be dimantled and melted down for additional remnant and injected into funtimes, freeing them to haunt and scare william into springbonnie causing the springlocking.

I think the reason that William Afton doesn't use the suit in the dci is because if he did then it would confirm that it was him using the suit as henry was in jail at the time making william the only one that could possibly use a springlock suit

For someone as detail oriented as MatPat, he's really lost the plot on some of his points. We know that Springtrap was found in the saferoom for FNAF3 because Phone Guy says as much, yet MatPat thinks it makes more sense for Springtrap to break out of the room to go do Sister Location experiments then what, go back to the saferoom for a nap? Or does William go do Sister Location experiments after FNAF3?
And the amount of things MatPat's saying don't make sense and haven't been talked about when he's actively just... FORGOTTEN that they've already been addressed and he did or didn't disagree in earlier parts is just astonishing tbh.
I think the part about not remembering what happened in earlier parts is forgivable, these weren't all filmed together so he may have not remembered some of it when he sat down for this. The egregious part is his disagreement based on them now explaining something when they did explain it, eg why Afton isn't using the suit to lure kids in FNaF2.

got a thing that makes this all work. Afton gets springlocked early, lives but fakes his death during it. hes never fingered for killer because hes "dead" during it all. he is running around under a fake name from then on so his new identity disconnected from any of the events.
This lines up with the novels at bare minimum, i think one of the tales books has a point about will not being allowed to die but its been a bit since i read them.

@@saninpain well the books say he survived once and died the second time. so yeah, he could. nothing says he cant get springlocked and survive, run around under a new name hiding in plain sight, then get springlocked again much further down the road. in fact once he put the springlock suit aside in favor of the fun time grabber suits it makes a lot of sense. springlock suit sits for years not being used, never getting normal maintenance like it should. Afton uses it again after the funtime plan going badly and he is cornered. it fails from neglect and bad design, but this time its fatal and he is bricked in and left to rot.

No, they were saying that Afton had begun suspecting the animatronics were haunted and he thought maybe by killing CC in Fredbear that he would possess the suit. Afterwards, Fredbear didn't seem to act haunted like the others and so Afton thought it didn't work, then he hid the body in the box and buried it in the forest. Since he now had a kid that was "missing" he used that as evidence that he wasn't the murderer. Remember that the missing children incident victims were never found, Afton is the only one who knew the bodies were in the animatronics.

I think I can explain exactly why William Afton took interest in the animatronics again at the Fnaf 2 location.
In the first location the ghosts weren't complete yet. They hadn't been given life. However they were still acting irratically. This change in behavior combined with the time crunch of being caught on camera was enough pressure for him to stuff cc in the golden Freddy suit. However despite this he still had practically 0 evidence that these things could be fully possessed and bring someone back.
However after the puppet gave them life he took interest yet again. He noticed how their behavior changed how they were more complete. So he dismantles them to see what's changed and then uses them in the fun times to recreate that success.
I love how they just gave up on censoring all the swearing
The key thing to remember is that when afton is springtrapped, he is stuck in the sage room until fnaf3. So if he does any sister location experiments as springtrap, that has to happen after the fnaf3 fire.

I was really worried for the nightmare gas part of the video but that was actually the section that left me the most satisfied. This theory isn’t saying that fnaf 4 was all a hallucination, but that as he was grieving, William Afton decided to experiment on Michael and he lived through the same nightmares that CC went through. The thing that really hit that home for me was the thing about the security logbook where Michael has nightmares about things he would only know about if he had experienced fnaf 4. I think narratively that makes a lot of sense and is very satisfying.
Surely the souls have to be mixed up into the Funtimes before Afton gets Springlocked. We know once he’s Springlocked that he’s locked down in that room where he died and remains boxed up there until FNAF 3. So how could he have mixed up the Remnant into the Funtimes after that event?
There is a really slim chance he might have had access to Sister Location from there.

To build on Matt’s thoughts at 55:00, CC could have been in a coma for a long time. Maybe even as long as Micheal was on William’s side. This could allow time for William to make his realization.
I just checked the FNAF3 bad ending and the light is seemingly only concentrated in one of the eyes of Golden Freddy, even though it does spill out of the other eye. The effect looks to be seen the same in Bonnie in the same image. Likely the appearance of the 'light' in the other eye is either a side-effect of the software used to make the image or a side-effect of how the 'light' was centered.
I always thought being able to see both of Golden Freddy's eyes was just so we could see his silhouette better so it would be clear that it was golden Freddy in the back.

The problem I have with Lefty's "Golden Eye" is from the player's perspective, you see the Golden Eye on the left, but, from Lefty's perspective, the Golden Eye is their "right" eye, their "left" eye is blacked out.

My 10 year old daughter pointed this out to me, (we love playing Ultimate Custom Night together) about it being HIS RIGHT EYE, and I couldn't stop laughing the rest of the day 😂 she noticed and I didn't.
