Here is my theory: When you install the clap clap in your house you release the entity within the house and it "protects" the house from everyone including you by killing anyone found within the house.
Thanks for playing my game!:D I never expected MatTheFreakin'Pat to play my game and try to theorize on it, but I am loving every second of it 😂 I enjoyed your analysis at the end, but let's be real... it's all just a theory... A GAME THEORY!
So that’s odd as I’m from the UK and have seen them back in the 90s I was going to say late 80s but I wasn’t sure if I say them before I was in my teens.
as someone from latin america, i only ever knew these things as a TV thing and assumed they were just a amde up thing to show a family was reach I learned just today appearently this existed
@permeus2nd I live in Pennsylvania and was born 1998. In the US at least where I'm from they were temporarily in commercials in early 2000s. I thought for some reason it was just for the movie Bruce Almighty.
Ash gives a theory (a GAME THEORY) that the creature is a virus or something (like Glitchtrap). Which i think is close, but here is what I think it is... The AI for the Clap Clap system somehow creates a physical presence to stop or scare the intruders, burglars, etc. but the AI programing got corrupted somehow and confused anyone for a criminal and starts killing them. After it kills the owner, the AI needs a human to maintain it and the house, so it makes an advert to get a house sitter but the AI gets confused again and kills the house sitter as they are "an intruder". and so the cycle of deaths start to begin.
That movie with the character talking about this guy, with yellowed parchmentlike skin over a grinning skull, sounds like Phantom of the Opera. I'm assuming its the scene where the janitor tells the dancers about the phantom
As someone who remembers the 80's, seeing a game set in the 80's mentioning things like smart homes and having very not 80's decor..... Like I'm sure they were just using stock assets but still, the flatscreen tv is sending me xD At least there's a landline phone lol
Oohhh, we had a club! Used it too. And yeah, the idea was that there was a kind of arm extending off to one side of it which would catch on the parts of the car around the wheel, making it impossible to turn when it was locked on. So even if someone broke into the car and got the engine on, they still couldn't steal it.
My mom had The Club when I was a kid. It locked in place on the steering wheel and had a long side that basically prevented the wheel from turning because the end would bonk the windshield and you couldn't turn it any further. As a kid, I thought it was ridiculous, but it made her feel like her car was safer. I just saw on the news that police departments are handing out a similar device in areas where car theft is a big issue, so it must be pretty effective. Not sure if that's local to me or a more widespread program. It's hilarious that I haven't thought about that thing for at least 20 years, and now it's come up twice in less than a week!
My theory is the clap clap system is just the monster, when you clap he scurried around and flipped the lights and he is just inherently home defense cus he’s scary.
20:17 "What about this 'Do Not Enter' room? I feel like that's a room of the house I would want to potentially explore." Matt would not survive a horror movie.
My older sister told me she had a dream one time where there was a burglar in her house, and the house had clapper activated lights. So basically, it was a really comedic scene where the burglar and her are fighting to keep the lights on/off while she's chasing him to try and retrieve her stuff. (I think it was a really expensive goldfish or something) I've always thought that would make a great movie scene
The "copywrite neutral" movie is the 1925 version of Phantom of the Opera, specifically the scene where Joseph Buquet is describing the Phantom to the girls
Heres my theory, the monster was actually the guy that lived in the house, maybe the clapclap 👏👏 virus made him a psicokiller thing and eventually transformed into a monster.
My younger brother uses a club steering wheel lock. Neither of us expects it to do much, but we figure every little bit of security helps on a car as old as his.
Rubber ducks are a pretty common almost easter egg in indie horror games lately. I'm not sure what the origin is. Control, scary game squad, or scp, but they keep popping up
back in the 90's my parents had the club, with the cross key and everything. apparently the lock was really hard to pick so if you lost the key you were all out of luck.
My whole family owned a "club". I used to pretend it was a sword as a kid and waved it around. Very dangerous. But we didn't have it as a luxury. We had it bc we lived in the hood for real.
My theory: Savo was the killer. They never found his remains, he just disappeared. Plus, he was the one talking up the Security System to his neighbor. Maybe he realized how it works and decided to use it as a way in to people's houses. I'm sure I'm wrong, but it's JUST A THEORY. 😅
The clock rotates and the indestructible movement of time continues. The time for Him is soon to arise, not long now. He welcomes you to His mind, but It knows what that means. It knows the truth. Every detail matters.
lol I have a car club and it actually works 😭it extends out so the end part of it hits the windshield or the gear shift so the steering wheel cannot tuen
Hey Mat and the rest...could you play through the Cosmo D games? Like Off peak and Norwood suite? They are very interesting and have a lot of theory potential.
my aunt had clap on lights when i was like 5 or something so like 2004ish and i had an ex who still to this day uses the hook steering wheel thing if they go to the city!
I was gonna say this would be an interesting thing in real life then looked it up and there is in fact a light system you can turn on by clapping your hands
Please check out Ted's Caving Journal. It's a new analog horror adaptation of one of the first creepypastas, and it's really well done. I would love to see your reaction to it.
I get thay the dialogue is off, but it seems like they didn't even consider the fact that the dev might be from another country (Serbia maybe? Somewhere in eastern europe) and went straight to mocking it. Maybe just give a little acknowledgement?
16:50 Was not expecting this reference; awesome! Man, those silent movies had to show as much as possible (cuz there was no "tell") and boy did they through the setting. I found & watched 'Dr. Caligari's Cabinet' when looking up German Expressionism; was interested in the artstyle when I learned it inspired the backgrounds of the 1969 'Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?' series🥰
My boyfriend decided to scare me in the shower with the clap clap right after we watched the conjuring. I punched him in the arm so hard! I felt kind of bad, but not really 😂
Here is my theory: When you install the clap clap in your house you release the entity within the house and it "protects" the house from everyone including you by killing anyone found within the house.
Nice theory
I think this is the physical manifestation of the THE CLAP that untreated KO’s you
👏👏
I like it
OMG this is EXACTLY what I thought when I saw Markiplier play this recently!
The fact he finished thr clap and a half made my heart drop.
This is going to be a terrifying episode
Right 😨
Fr. I'm at 50k guys ❤
Sameee 😭😭
I’m so glad I got spoiled for it, I don’t think my heart could’ve handled it without knowing it was coming before hand 😰
Sent me right back to the old gtlive days ahhhh
We live in a world where a man claps twice on video, someone offscreen goes "Whoa!" and the internet quakes.
Thanks for playing my game!:D I never expected MatTheFreakin'Pat to play my game and try to theorize on it, but I am loving every second of it 😂

@@_disasterdon Kemkal?! Is that really you?:0

Congratulations man! With a few tweaks, you've got the perfect game for lets plays! ☺✨💖✨
Great job!

I've gotten used to Mat(and members of his co.) specifically doing a clap and a half that when he did the other half it felt wrong.😅
Living outside the US, I always thought the clapper, or in general turning lights on and off by clapping, solely existed in TV series and movies
Wait, that’s a real thing ?
@@raptorr575 yup falling asleep with the tv on as a kid that commercial would come on all the time
So that’s odd as I’m from the UK and have seen them back in the 90s I was going to say late 80s but I wasn’t sure if I say them before I was in my teens.

Claptrap! Not to be confused with the Borderlands character.
No jeed to be corrupted, the AI could eaisly just be malfunctoning from the start and the comoany just didnt care ebough to proof check the code
I love this theory!
That movie with the character talking about this guy, with yellowed parchmentlike skin over a grinning skull, sounds like Phantom of the Opera. I'm assuming its the scene where the janitor tells the dancers about the phantom
It is! I was looking for a comment about it before I commented about it. It's the 1925 Lon Chaney film. It was driving me nuts so I looked it up lol
Thank you for confirming. I recognised the words, but I haven't watched a lot of the films, so I wasn't entirely sure
Man I love how descriptive those lines were! Painted a gruesome picture in my head and I loved it!
Anyone else notice that the year is 1984 but the news broadcast says the dissappearance took place in 2023? Time traveling broadcast maybe?
i noticed to!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The creator actually said that was a mistake and that no time travel was involved.
The double clap concerns me far more then it should... unsettling so.
As someone who remembers the 80's, seeing a game set in the 80's mentioning things like smart homes and having very not 80's decor..... Like I'm sure they were just using stock assets but still, the flatscreen tv is sending me xD At least there's a landline phone lol
Yeah, this is like the late 2000s
It sounded like the news guy said the guy disappeared in 2023.
Me also following the rule and clapping in my room alone whenever Mat and Ash says "clap clap" 👏👏
Oohhh, we had a club! Used it too. okay now i need to know what ya'll are doing with rubber ducks.. very suspicious, Mat.
Day *38* of begging MatPat to play *Death Palette* (Available in mobile and PC, I suggest fans of MatPat also to play this also)
It is true
Hes not playing it
How is this guy first
Dude that games so fun
real
I had both the clapper and the club growing up. Were I work, we still use th club.
My mom had The Club when I was a kid. It locked in place on the steering wheel and had a long side that basically prevented the wheel from turning because the end would bonk the windshield and you couldn't turn it any further. As a kid, I thought it was ridiculous, but it made her feel like her car was safer. 10:13 Hypothesis: Savo is on a perpetual vacation, i.e., is dead/taken by the ghost.
My theory is the clap clap system is just the monster, when you clap he scurried around and flipped the lights and he is just inherently home defense cus he’s scary.
the text at the beginning said 1984, but the tv broadcast said the guy went missing in 2023
Ikr. I had to watch that part again to make sure I heard right.
20:17 "What about this 'Do Not Enter' room? I feel like that's a room of the house I would want to potentially explore."
Matt would not survive a horror movie.

Gotta say, steering wheel locks are still a thing that is used, make sure to keep your cars secure!!
28:06 somebody clip that (“MY MEAT IS GONE” 😂
MatPat over here trying to turn off my lights.
Did he wake your Google assistant?
I feel like the monster in clap clap is a lot like a simulacrum in the sense that anyone who uses the iris phone can be affected by a simulacrum.
I had a clapper as a child! It caught fire! So I can def see a monster coming out of it
Clap and a half horror game.
Man do i love watching mat have fun
I remember my aunt having a steering wheel club for agesss when I was young!
14:19 it's always elm street with issues never Columbus Avenue, railroad street, Detroit street or stockyard road
31:55 the book said "how to get spooktubers to play your game" btw
You guys should try a game called 'still wakes the deep'!!
Me: man scrolling on twitter and seeing the theory channels tweet makes me miss Matpat.
Gt Live: I’m I nothing to you!
I feel like the creature is probably putting ads out for housitters in order to lure people.
Mat, I currently own a clapper, I found it in a thrift store and I've had it for YEARS now 😂😂😂
Clap on 👏👏 Clap off 👏 👏
I had a “The club” when I was younger. Basically it would stop the wheel turning by hitting the windshield. So you cannot turn.
Life comes at you fast
But lights come on faster
I learned about The Clapper from the first Wayne's World movie. It was on Rob Lowe's TV, right next to a Chia Pet commercial.
Heres my theory, the monster was actually the guy that lived in the house, maybe the clapclap 👏👏 virus made him a psicokiller thing and eventually transformed into a monster.
Never thought I’d live to see the day the last half of the clap gets completed that was actually insane
Chicken nugget has new lore matpat you have to look at it
6:40 I once saw one of those midnight ads for it when I was a kid in the mid 2000s
if someone is going to house sit for me, i am now buying those books, or making covers for books like those ones just to creep my housesitter

Its my birthday today and the best gift was watching MatPat and Ash spend 40 minutes clapping 💕
mat your italian accent was perfect you sounded like one of us
i have a clapper attached to the fan in my room!! i got it at target and love it
Day 999 of Matt Pat playing a horror game and playing it wrong. Things have been tough out here.

MatPat doing more than a calp and a half is already scary hahaha
lol I have a car club and it actually works 😭it extends out so the end part of it hits the windshield or the gear shift so the steering wheel cannot tuen
The second half was the scariest part of this video
I found an indie Horror game that i think u will like It Matt pat, it is called Dead plate. I think it has a lot of theory potential
my theory is It's Not What It Seems it's just clap on clap off
This game is CLAPPED
Hey Mat and the rest...could you play through the Cosmo D games? Like Off peak and Norwood suite? They are very interesting and have a lot of theory potential.
Dude, my mum had a club! I'd forgotten what they were called. XD But yeah, that was a weird thing. XD
