    WOW, definitely feels like the target audience for this are C-Suite folks. I really don't believe people back in the day were confused by printer ports (I.E. Parallel ports), or how to plug in a power cable. Now that he started talking about Workbench, I remember changing my pointer to be a sword using the Icon Edit program. Did anyone else customize their pointer?
    While as an experienced Amiga and PC user from back in the day I can pick on the early parts of this...but this is actually a really good and detailed demo. I could see new Amiga users getting use out of this

    • @danyoutube7491
      @danyoutube7491 Год назад

      :) Unfortunately it was already thriving by that time! But it was important for floppy disks, because there was a danger of disks getting corrupted through use, so it was standard practice upon buying any software to make a copy that you would use on a daily basis while the original sat safely in a box, needed only if your copy failed at some point.

    • @danyoutube7491
      @danyoutube7491 3 года назад +1

      @@Great-Documentaries It was only 4 years old in 1991 when the video (according to the note under it) was produced. Although it is true that the 68000 CPU inside the A2000 was mainly 16 bit (the 68020, released in 1984, was fully 32 bit), that isn't really relevant to Ale's comment. In terms of the functionality of the computer and the user experience, the Amiga was still very modern at that time.

    9:50 "Initialise" a disc? Doesn't he mean _format?_

    • @tookitogo
      @tookitogo 2 года назад +3

      No. Many operating systems other than Windows referred to “initializing” a disk, in part because not all disks actually use low-level formatting (i.e. it’s permanently done at the factory). It’s basically observing a distinction between formatting (laying down physical tracks and sectors) and initializing (writing a file system onto a disk that has been formatted).

      Io ho un Amiga 500, la usavo negli anni 90, tre anni fa ho provato a riattivarla, ancora funziona però di tanti dischi con giochi (tutte copie), ho notato che alcuni non li legge più, o a fatica... probabilmente nel tempo le informazioni sul floppy si perdono per smagnetizzazione...però é stato un bel salto nel passato anche se non senza malinconica nostalgia... L'ho strausata giocando tantissimo dai 6 ai 13 anni...proprio sfruttata, me la sono goduta 😪... Poi arrivò Playstation1 anche lì grandi ricordi...Peró Amiga sicuramente resta il primo amore.
