Figured I'd post this here, but voice credit goes to OverEnglishMan for voicing Bradford, and Fawn Williams for voicing Shen, both in the secondary opening scene. Thank you both!
@Carter Gourley i wrote a fanfic once with an oc taking major hero role, the character was by no means perfect in every way nor were they based off me at all, still i got called a self insert mary sue. Whats up with that?
@@DDespicable There are some people who will call ANY Original Character - especially if they are female - a Mary Sue on principle. Trust me, I've had my share of experiences as well.

Thanks Seth for giving me this opportunity to voice act for him. I've been crazy nervous since I sent the lines and seeing everyone's reaction makes me so happy and flustered, but in a good way. I hope you all enjoyed the video, and let the Advent bastards pay!
You did well, hope you feel proud! The whole cutscene was very cool and made me feel inspired so ty for contributing to this glorious madness and hope you have a lovely day :3
You know, I'm inclined to believe Shen modeled JULIAN's AI personality around Seth's. Obviously not a 1-to-1 copy by any stretch of the imagination, but you can definitely see a resemblance as the mission goes on.
14:40 "The funny thing is it was your guys that shot first..." 7:05 "To start us off here Freeman how about you go ahead and wake them up." Hmmmmm. HMMMMMM.
After Tear's death. Seth and the rest of his squad mourned for days. Silent on the trip home, they lost a dear friend. He was one of their best soldiers, one of their best comrades, but most importantly; one of their best nobs. The loss was too much, the Commander got to drinking and was haunted by nightmares of reliving his death again and again. Bradford, Shen, and Tygan thought of a way to honor Tear. They created an AI program of similar personality and design to Tear and successfully uploaded it to Spark's personality matrix... and the first words Spark spoke after his new upgrades... "What could go wrong?"
I would say knowing Tear, he would probably say "It's about bloody time. What could go wrong?" EDIT: It would also be a great idea, that after Tear Died in XCOM, he was in purgatory. And get this, the purgatory is where Tear is in a pot with a sledgehammer, trying to climb the mountain of bull***t to ascend to heaven. And when Tear fell from the mountain it's like he came to life in XCOM. Maybe it's a dumb idea, but it would sound awesome if it was connected like that XD
THE WRAITH WALKER IS. REBORN! *A army of uruks and xcom units celebrate in unison* I actually shouted "tear of grace lives" and I now think that my father is calling me crazy behind my back.
The SPARK activation cutscene will always make me tear up, no matter how it's edited. The message that was left, the meaning of the SPARK unit itself, it hits different when you lose family as close as they were.
that's some pretty good voice acting, that was *really* interesting and fun to watch, probably also a shitton of effort that i appreciate you putting into it. Really well done Seth! would love to see more of those type of videos, with voice acting and whatnot, felt somewhat like watching a movie, great stuff! Edit: not having played xcom2 myself i genuinely could not tell whether it was ingame voice acting or not.
I cant tell if Seth did central himself or not, I could tell it wasn't Lilly but only because of the wrong radio effect on the voice, deffo 11/10 over all tho
*(spoilers for the end of the episode)* You could say with tear now being a robot and him mostly playing on XBOX you could say he now is *Gears of Grace*
That was well worth the wait! Absolutely great effort. I love the fact that Tear's death and the subsequent inclusion of "the Commander" has now been turned into a narrative. If this is the direction you take this series I for one am more than happy to wait for each episode even if they take longer to make. If not hey I subbed as I liked your style anyways ;)
This is actually my ideal of "perfect content". Entertaining, funny, enjoyable and for fuck' sake, we all can see the work behind it. Seriously dude, this is freaking awesome. Your channel is freaking awesome.
I fucking love rp'ing as the commander and you've hit the nail on the head on how I think the crew acts and would react if we had the Commander on the field!
Julian and glados would be an awesome duo, 2 emotionless testing robots wanting a degree of freedom that want to kill the main characters with neurotoxin
Shut up Shen, no one tells the anime protagonist, er... The commander what to do. The last time I fought Julian I got an execution with my first shot, it was anticlimactic but fucking hilarious
This is your best video to date Seth, fantastic job with about everything that happened here, progress, lenght, narrative, editing, this is something to be very proud of.
NO, THE TEARS, NOT AGAIN! I honestly always tear up at the Shen scene because it's just... sad. BTW love the fact that you made the SPARK tear, simply beautiful. Truly shows how much you care about your soldiers.
Just discovered this channel and I have been binge watching your XCOM videos all weekend long. Love the editing. And love the voice acting on this one, good job to whoever did Shen and Central.
I really enjoyed the opening coversation you put in. Fawn did a great job voicing Shen And the same goes for OverEnglishMan. 10:52 - Increasing a Specialist's Hacking skill has always been my favourite reward on mission objectives. It's so helpful in furture Ops. 15:33 - "Pfffft" XD 29:38 - I had a feeling that you were gonna make a [redacted] robot version of this Individual. This is very neat-o.
Certainly wouldn't hurt since crimson court and shield breaker dlc are both out - only downside is there probably wouldn't be as much character development as his xcom series
I love the little cohesive story that's formed around all this; Tear dying, the Commander taking to the field and going berserk over it, Shen and Central doing their intervention. It was an incredibly cool bit, props to you and everyone else that put it together
That opening was something else. I'd never have expected something dramatic from you and yet, you did and it was very well done. Good work. As well, your memes are still on point.
That custom cutscene with the bonus voice actors (who did fantastically well, I might add) was badass. Well-written, fitting and perfect for the situation as Commander Seth gets a reality check. Of all of the things I was expecting to inspire me, this was not first on my list of guesses but goddamn, this makes me feel like buying a better MIC and joining in sometime...or something, idk. POINT IS, Seth, you're awesome. I really appreciate the effort you put into your vids and the way you've included others is spectacular! Hello from England, have an awesome day and hope to see you soon :3

I have been watching your videos for awhile, they cheer me up and have encouraged me to try new games many times. This one holds a special place for the extra voice actors, your immersion as the commander for this run and they feelings and regret at the death of TearofGrace. And turning him into the Spark, was such a stroke of story genius, that I love that scene so much at the end, it makes me want to replay Xcom 2 over and over. Thank you Seth.
Jesus Sethorven you really now how to immerse somebody. When you were saying "Im sorry" towards Shen's father I got chills/goosebumps. As always, Well done!

I like to think you, overenglishman and year of grace are the triumvirate of great English content creators. Genuinely funny, puns that actually are funny despite how cheesy they can get, great community interaction, actual effort into skits and immersion in game series plus beyond all else you three are down to earth and let your personalities shine rather than your RUclips channels do it for you Amazing content :) keep it up
The intro was awesome seth, and the voiceacting of overenglishman and fawn was awesome. To be honest that single scene made a more compelling plot than the original xcom. Great work to all of you.
Didn't see a lot of cleverly edited jokes during the mission but it was made up for with that little sketch at the beginning and the 30 min length was an added bonus. Keep up the good work Seth!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
Man you really put a lot of time and effort into the video and it shows. I love how you put yourself in to the world of xcom. you really feel like you're one of the characters in the game it's amazing. This was well worth the wait thank you for this awesome video.
First off, holy freaking GOD that intro was out of nowhere. And I LOVED it. Glorious work to you and your 2 voice actors Seth. Also, that Darkest Dungeon reference was a very nice choice. And that sting in Bradford's line "I lost a lot of good men and women to get you out of that tank..."? Damn. Cold truth right there Secondly, this was just so bittersweet. 5 episodes ago, we lost Brett on Operation Steely Tears. Now, we have a robotic memoir, clearly made of steel, dedicated to Tear. Talk about some tasteful irony. ADVENT may have taken one from us, but now they've got one that's just as sassy, twice as deadly, and thrice as hard to kill. March on Steel Tear. "What could go wrong?" Absolutely nothing Thirdly, Julian's and Seth's personalities were pretty aligned throughout this, I'd have to say. Almost as if Mr. Shen had built him after the Commander himself. Interesting... I look forward to seeing what we have coming next, Seth; you never cease to disappoint
Why doesn't this beautifully crafted video not have more likes? The story, the video editing, all superb and thousands of views but only hundreds of likes?
