8:12 I find it really hilarious how Ban is smiling while all of his squadmates have got their heads down because of their wounds. Ban: "That was really entertaining, you guys. We should do it again sometime." Everyone else: (Groans of pain) Tear: "Fuck you."
"Nope, nope, uh-uh, nope, nope-nope-nope-nope-nope-nope-nope-nope-nope-nope-nope-NOPE!" and thus a new affliction was revealed to the world: *Archonophobia.* Also, Fynn flying off at the start was hillarious! (as was the entire thing!) Really well edited Seth!
Definitely am! Your editing skills and humor are both amazing, and you are getting better with each video! (Seriously, that screen shake when Fynn was screaming "HOW?!" is something only a few people would do! And all those small things really add up!)
I read the steam reviews to see if I wanted to get this game myself and one of the negative ones said: "I find it impossible to shake the feeling of being rushed through the campaign by the avatar project and for that reason, I cannot recommend it." Sorry but isn't that kind of the point? To make you feel pressured and nervous about everything? Whatever. Either way, another great one. Freeman cowering in his cover killed me.
I admit, it is a bit annoying, but it does keep you from just turtling and making the rest of the game a complete joke. Keeps it challenging. Plus there's mods that remove the Avatar timer entirely if you wanna spend the first five hours charging up a Kamehameha of Super Soldiers. And thanks again!
I play on Xbox, so this might not be true for you guys but when you start a new game, you go to Toggle Advanced Options View and in there are a bunch of modifiers that alter the game and one of them is Lengthy Scheme, it doubles the amount of bars for the avatar project, giving you more time to beat ADVENT
Tear sent me Not disappointed Needed more Xcom in my life Recently played Xcom2 for the first time. Was doing well, then I got all but one of an entire squad killed, so I decided to played the first Xcom to chill off I then proceeded to make the first Xcom my bitch
+Sethorven The amazing people at Firaxis are actually releasing a new DLC for XCOM 2 that is basically an entire new game's worth of content at the end of August
Ok, so my suggestion to make the Avatar Project laughable: Gather enough Intel to make contact with the remaining regions containing Facilities, but wait until the Avatar Porject accumulates progress before doing one. By doing this, the game is forced to slow down the rate at which the Avatar Project advances. Also, the Dark Event which adds a block of Avatar Progress assigns that progress to a random facility - you can ignore that when Guerilla Ops missions become available, on the basis that any progress made that way will be removed once you hit a readily accessible Facility. My suggestion for cheesing boss enemies (such as Archon King and Sectopod): Give Fynn Armour Piercing Rounds, keep him at squadsight range of the boss, and have your concealed Ranger stalk the boss. Pros: (hopefully) no danger to your other units, keeping them out of the medbay, and plus AP Rounds ignore 5 armour points in vanilla (in short, really overpowered once coupled with something like Fanfire on a pistol oriented Sharpshooter). Cons: Only practical once any timers on the map have been dealt with, and requires good vantage points to take consistent advantage of.
Sadly my abilities to use the Proving Grounds are a bit limited due to a lack of Elerium Cores, seriously the game just has NOT dropped any for me for a while. Though once I get some I'll keep that all in mind!
I have found a new person playing XCOM 2 to binge. Thank you, TOG, for recommending me to this person, and thank you, Sethorven, for making such quality and funny content.
God dammit, Sethorven. Now everytime I see one of XCOM's loading scenes I can't help but hear in the back of my head "Last time on: XCOM 2" in your voice. Great vid tho ^_^
I wasn't expecting much when I started watching your videos, but hot dang, your videos are really freakin' good! They're even pretty close to the quality of Tear of Grace's vids! Keep it up, pal! :D
I have to thank him for bringing so many awesome people here! Seriously the positivity has been overwhelming, I'm not entirely sure what to think. It's a bit shocking, to say the least.
Whilst it would have been nice to see you try to take on Skulljacking a Codex, I can't blame you for going after a facility instead. On the flipside, you can flip each of those Alien Facilities off in rather quick order. I can just imagine the dialogue between the Ethereals and their sub-ordinates. Ethereal: What happened to the Avatar Project progress? Subordinate: Uh, Sethorven went on a anti-Avatar Project... rampage? Ethereal: I assigned you a Sectopod to stop that. It is not acceptable that we have been reduced to square one. Subordinate: This is why we should have backed up all that data. Ethereal: What did you say? Do you mean to question our psionic abilities? Subordinate: No. Although now that I have seen the Archon King in action, I'm glad I bring at least one Assault along for Long War 2 on every mission. The secondary stun-gun is a decent counter against them from what I can tell.
When I fight this boss, I was ready as ever as I could be, full HP squads, all the right loadout, waiting to ambush, and here we go: my support girl overwatch fire hit, fire again, executed him, she had an advanced repeater, 10% chance, rarely happened in my game, but she did it this time. Later I tried a few time, it seems repeater and hair triggers works more often on alien bosses.
My god, thanks to you, I am back in xcom 2 again, but do to my dumb ass, added Way to many mods, takes for ever to start, plus you just so fun to watch, keep up the great work pal ;p
Welp, after discovering your XCOM 2 videos, I am just blown away by how funny this shit is. I'm subbing. I've got to see more of these. I've also got to know what mods you're using. I want that shit for my game.
a little tip: the armor you get from performing an auopy on the viper king grants extra movement, a grappling hook and some armour (along with a great abiliy you will have to find out for yourself)
Ok I honestly love your content and wish I could be this funny. The funniest I've ever been was a pun on the title of Dead Space. I need to get back to that at some point.
Three times. Three times, I ended up at the point of "OH FUCK, NEED TO BLOW UP A FACILITY" because I spent all that time researching and training my troops to be monsters. I stood on the edge of a knife, walked through the valley of death, and came out the other end utterly destroying them. And I totally didn't even plan it out like that.
I think that you should have 2 resets if you meet a boss monster on the final movement in each mission in long war. Or if the total health in your team oss lower than 40% and you have moved more than 10 turns. But that's just me.
I was confused on how to mod this game. Then i saw the "mod" tab on the launcher of the game and i was "hmmm. So that was the problem" but i don't have wotc, so i'm quite in the suffering on the find for non-wotc mods.
Congratulations on not failing horribly, and for reaching 2.6k subs! Could you list all of the mods and voice packs you are using, along with the customisation things for your characters? I'd love to be able to play through XCOM 2 again with the stuff you have
This was posted 9 hours ago, and we're already approaching 2.9k. Christ. But really thank you! And well the mods on display are: Perfect Information Freeman's Mind Voice Pack Stop Wasting My Time (Though I don't know if that's been updated lately) Quiet Bradford (Again, don't know if it's been updated) Nathan Drake Voice Pack Chloe Voice Pack and Handsome Jack Voice Pack. I actually have not modded it very much save for those.
Not sure if I should be happy or sad that my first encounter with the Archon king started with me executing it with the first shot of Elena, same with the Berserker Queen
I feel like you could have added the textbox when you did the star fox reference with Fynn. Kinda a missed opportunity. But except for that, a great video as always. Was the screen breaking in the beginning a transition already in your editor, or did you manually edit all the pieces?
I was going to, but at that point I was a bit tight for time. I really need to get a schedule for recording and editing going. And that intro was my first time using Shatter in After Effects!
This game has MUCH better soldier editing than Enemy Unknown and allows you to change their accessories, color, voices, faces, just about everything. It's pretty awesome.
in my honest opinion your going places in the new generation of gaming you-tubers what with the edits and moment to moment game play your already close to as good as tear of grace and your not far off
I really do appreciate that man, thank you very much. Seriously, the positive feedback from Tear's traffic has been overwhelming. It's a good feeling! I'm thinking of multiplayer things to do as well, though that may take a bit to get organized.
(Returns from watching the whole series) whew... just... give me... a moment... WHEW! (Takes a minute to catch breath) that was, by far, the most, AMAZING PLAYTHROUGH SERIES OF XCOM 2 I'VE EVER SEEN!!!!!!!!! One question though, are you aiming to finish this playthrough BEFORE "War of the Chosen" comes out, and then start a new campaign with the "War of the Chosen" expansion enabled?
you are gonna be on your way dude, I know of another youtuber that makes me laugh as much as you do and he is currently over 500k subs after a few years, this is funny as shit keep it up, after you finish Xcom may I recommend Dark Souls play through? muhahahahhaah MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ignore that evil laughter please and disregard it
I'm presuming you've played through more than once. Does the Archon King ALWAYS do that?!? It seems every game he is just in the worst possible place at the worst possible time. Viper and Berserker lords? No problem. Archon King? SURPRISE BITCH! DADDY'S HOME!
Thanks man. Speaking of Voice Packs, I don't know how you would try to implement these voices in, but could you also take a look at this voice pack? steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=663478711 It's from the Dawn of War series of games and the Voice lines are jus loaded with personality, even if they are just from an RTS. My recomendations would be to maybe give a new member of the team the voice of the imperial guardsman. Thanks again for your amazing content and for taking the time to read this comment.
While I find the panic in your voice amusing as all hell, the archon king's devastation follows the same rules as Blazing Pinons from normal archons, it tags everyone in a 4x4 area. Spread out more and only one soldier has to move. And if he still gives you the shits, a psi soldier with stasis locks them down for a full turn, letting you re-position better.
TearofGrace brought me here and Mal gave me an appreciation of this game. Good luck with the Archon Ruler. He's concentrated horse shit. Best tactic from what I've seen is Frost Bombs, Acid Grenades and as much free action damage, debuffs and damage over time as you can get.
Oh and here's a tactic to deal with the Avatar project: Keep at least one facility or story mission available just in case the doomsday clock starts again. Learnt that one watching Mal's playthroughs.
I hate the archon king, that devastate ability is so stupid and impossible to avoid. I get that since it is the last alien ruler, it needs to be a challenge, but I think it does the job too well.
On my first play through of XCOM 2 with this dlc, one of my snipers with a repeater attachment sitting on overwatch killed the archon boss with the first shot the moment it came around a corner on a patrol route, by god was that the funniest thing that ever happened in my XCOM career. I saw its health bar and its armour and thought "welp... we're fucked" and the next thing I saw was my sniper (his nickname was "Candyman" of all things) just run the archon's shit faster than I could finish that statement... I've never laughed so hard in all my life and oh boy did I reward that sniper with a couple of months off of the field to level up my B, C, and D teams. Needless to say I also gave him the Archon Boss Armour when he returned to the field on the final mission.
8:12 I find it really hilarious how Ban is smiling while all of his squadmates have got their heads down because of their wounds.
Ban: "That was really entertaining, you guys. We should do it again sometime."
Everyone else: (Groans of pain)
Tear: "Fuck you."
"Nope, nope, uh-uh, nope, nope-nope-nope-nope-nope-nope-nope-nope-nope-nope-nope-NOPE!"
and thus a new affliction was revealed to the world: *Archonophobia.*
Also, Fynn flying off at the start was hillarious! (as was the entire thing!) Really well edited Seth!
CAAAARLOOOS!
More like ArchoNOPEphobia.
Though thanks again Harbo! Glad you're still enjoying.
Definitely am! Your editing skills and humor are both amazing, and you are getting better with each video! (Seriously, that screen shake when Fynn was screaming "HOW?!" is something only a few people would do! And all those small things really add up!)
I swear, the "Oh hi Mark" inserts get me every time~
I read the steam reviews to see if I wanted to get this game myself and one of the negative ones said: "I find it impossible to shake the feeling of being rushed through the campaign by the avatar project and for that reason, I cannot recommend it." Sorry but isn't that kind of the point? To make you feel pressured and nervous about everything? Whatever.
Either way, another great one. Freeman cowering in his cover killed me.
I admit, it is a bit annoying, but it does keep you from just turtling and making the rest of the game a complete joke. Keeps it challenging. Plus there's mods that remove the Avatar timer entirely if you wanna spend the first five hours charging up a Kamehameha of Super Soldiers. And thanks again!

Once again freeman panics, moves into better cover and blasts an alien. Is this going to be a running thing?
I mean it worked in my favor so, maybe?
I have been rewatching this series at least once a year since it came out. It’s still funny after all this time
That Archon melted almost your entire squad XD
Tear sent me
Not disappointed
Needed more Xcom in my life
Recently played Xcom2 for the first time. Was doing well, then I got all but one of an entire squad killed, so I decided to played the first Xcom to chill off
I then proceeded to make the first Xcom my bitch
I may replay XCOM EU after this...
We'll see!
+Sethorven The amazing people at Firaxis are actually releasing a new DLC for XCOM 2 that is basically an entire new game's worth of content at the end of August
1:37 Did the alien just say "Shut the fuck up?" XD
Aaaaaaaaaand I can't unhear that now! Not that that's a bad thing. XD
10:22 has the best voice line ever.

11:49-11:50 That's XCOM baby.
I have found a new person playing XCOM 2 to binge. Thank you, TOG, for recommending me to this person, and thank you, Sethorven, for making such quality and funny content.
Shucks you all are making me blush. But really, thank you, and thanks to ToG as well!
honestly why do you not have more subs?
ikr? he deserve way more subs than 2.6k
I don't have an interesting comment to put here, so I'll just say
"+"
Cun-Comedy?Cody yeah so did i
same.
Well I'm glad you're enjoying yourself here! Many thanks to Tear for the help. Hope you all enjoy your stay!
I love your usage of the Nostalgia Critic quote at 0:03.
God dammit, Sethorven. Now everytime I see one of XCOM's loading scenes I can't help but hear in the back of my head "Last time on: XCOM 2" in your voice.
Great vid tho ^_^
This is the first time i've ever enjoyed watching someone else play XCOM. Bravo, my man.
4:59
That battle with the Archon was clench as fuck.
Really love this series. Just discovered you, and your commentary and editing is hilarious.
Dude I love this series I can't wait for the next episode. Really glad tear recommended you
I wasn't expecting much when I started watching your videos, but hot dang, your videos are really freakin' good! They're even pretty close to the quality of Tear of Grace's vids! Keep it up, pal! :D
Welp, binged the series. Great work my dude. Love the content.
Well I'm very glad you enjoyed the whole thing, this has become a very fun series to make.
You are fantastic at editing, thank you for the awesome episodes of XCOM 2. Keep up the great work!
I really enjoy your stuff, man. Keep it up!
I plan on it!
Honestly I may have to thank Tear too for leading me here. You're an excellent source of entertainment and I'm loving these videos.
I have to thank him for bringing so many awesome people here! Seriously the positivity has been overwhelming, I'm not entirely sure what to think. It's a bit shocking, to say the least.

Although now that I have seen the Archon King in action, I'm glad I bring at least one Assault along for Long War 2 on every mission. The secondary stun-gun is a decent counter against them from what I can tell.
I am seriously considering taking full advantage of those radio towers and just purging the land of extra terrestrial twatfaces.
@Sethorven I know this is years late but
PURGE THE MUTANT, THE XENO, AND THE HERETIC WITH HOLY FLAME!
If i remember this correctly jack's First gunfight had soldiers punching and kicking the crap Out of him.
12:11 Welp, I've lived a good life. Dying of laughter isn't so bad I guess. RIP me.
I'm definitely emjoying this stream of videos you're laying out!
And I'm enjoying making them! Feels good to be taking this seriously, especially with the stream of amazing people Tear is sending my way.
"Operation Poisened Pyre" and no quip about Fynn Pier? i am suprised and slightly disapointed
My god, thanks to you, I am back in xcom 2 again, but do to my dumb ass, added Way to many mods, takes for ever to start, plus you just so fun to watch, keep up the great work pal ;p
Well hey I'm glad you're enjoying the series and the game itself! It's one of my favorites right now and I'll be tackling the expansion as well.
Sadly my elerium core stock is dry so I can't do much with the Proving Grounds to make that armor, but we'll see if I can change that.
Can't get over the intro...🤣gets me every time
Ok I honestly love your content and wish I could be this funny.
The funniest I've ever been was a pun on the title of Dead Space.
I need to get back to that at some point.
Thanks Tear of Grace for showing me this golden channel
You flatter me, thank you. I don't know if I deserve it, but I really am glad you're having fun!
It's very easy to get distracted and waste time buffing your group and suddenly you're five days from losing the game.
0:02 me when something important fails at any of my games
This video has taught me a lesson use acid grenades frost grenades and keep the venom rounds on my sniper
Finn: How the hell are you still alive!? HOW!?
I know he's saying "ROCKET!" every time does a rocket, but I keep hearing it as "CRACKIN'!"
fantastic! loved the intro
Thank you!
Who else heard the dude shout shut the fuck up after Freeman said I am so dead?
I gotta go back to the start and watch this whole thing cause this is FACKING HILARIOUS 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I love these videos.
I think that you should have 2 resets if you meet a boss monster on the final movement in each mission in long war. Or if the total health in your team oss lower than 40% and you have moved more than 10 turns. But that's just me.
To me from the last video sayin that Cray sounds like Sam from Gears 3, turns out she also had the same voice actor as Chloe from Uncharted ;-;
5:20 Just ice rains from above.
Goddammit Pharrah.
I was confused on how to mod this game. Then i saw the "mod" tab on the launcher of the game and i was "hmmm. So that was the problem" but i don't have wotc, so i'm quite in the suffering on the find for non-wotc mods.
Great video man, you got my sub
Welcome to the channel, buddy, thank you!
Love the Serie!! Keep it up man.
Thank you!
Give Flynn an expanded mag, it works really well with Serial and Kill Zone
Congratulations on not failing horribly, and for reaching 2.6k subs!
Could you list all of the mods and voice packs you are using, along with the customisation things for your characters? I'd love to be able to play through XCOM 2 again with the stuff you have
This was posted 9 hours ago, and we're already approaching 2.9k. Christ. But really thank you! And well the mods on display are:
Perfect Information
Freeman's Mind Voice Pack
Stop Wasting My Time (Though I don't know if that's been updated lately)
Quiet Bradford (Again, don't know if it's been updated)
Nathan Drake Voice Pack
Chloe Voice Pack
and Handsome Jack Voice Pack.
I actually have not modded it very much save for those.
And now you're approaching 3k! Thanks for listing all those things, I'm honestly surprised that you have so fewer mods installed than I thought
shoutouts to Tearofgrace for sending so many people to this wonderful channel
Indeed! I'm very happy to see people have been sticking around.
The greanadier with shred and chain shot plus ranger rapid fire kill sectopods real quick
Yeah I remember fighting the archon king and my god I hated him with a passion unlike any other
Oh btw Sethorven, hidden enemies, around blind corners, near objectives, are exactly what GREMLINS are for 😜
Where are the "CROCKET!" and "BOOM!" sounds from? I really like those!
Team Fortress 2.
Storm Curtis
Thanks.
Question for anyone, Which nostalgia critic episode is the "Panic Panic we're all gonna die" Thing at the start from
Necro, but the Independence Day review, in response to the "God help us all" line.
12:28 is my favourite voice line lmaooo
You have found your new arch enemy. Congrats.
thanks God Tears put u on the end of a video xd I'm lovin this xcom with Morgan Freeman
Not sure if I should be happy or sad that my first encounter with the Archon king started with me executing it with the first shot of Elena, same with the Berserker Queen
that was hilarious i am glad i found your channel
i hope you do well
Appreciated, thank you!
i wonder how you do streaming, that might be a ball
just a curiosity. then there's no pesky editing
Okay, how many limbs do I have to give for a Sethorven/Tear of Grace collaboration?
Hmm... Tear screaming over Xcom 2 in a coop campaign?
I could get behind that.
Sethorven Well that is understandable, it is still awesomely awesome that you have a schedule and weekly uploads!
Also I hope you like 2 dollars.
Quality content , btw how have you made them look like that they look so cool
This game has MUCH better soldier editing than Enemy Unknown and allows you to change their accessories, color, voices, faces, just about everything. It's pretty awesome.
you planning to add the alien recruits mod?
"God damn this loading screen is taking forever"
HA same
Good luck to you all
Didn't mean to click on this, never seen an xcom video, stayed for the fucking great content. New sub :D
Happy accident! Welcome and I hope you enjoy yourself :)
For me, that base would looked like Swiss cheese
Just realised something, this sound. 14:30
Seth, you going to play the new expansion that's coming out soon?
in my honest opinion your going places in the new generation of gaming you-tubers what with the edits and moment to moment game play your already close to as good as tear of grace and your not far off
dont stop cuz you got some good shat going
also if you could get some multiplayer things going with other people that might be fun
I really do appreciate that man, thank you very much. Seriously, the positive feedback from Tear's traffic has been overwhelming. It's a good feeling!
I'm thinking of multiplayer things to do as well, though that may take a bit to get organized.
Currently playing this game. I wonder why didn't you use Spark in your missions.
I know the Handsome Jack voice pack and the Gordon Freeman one but who are the others?
you are gonna be on your way dude, I know of another youtuber that makes me laugh as much as you do and he is currently over 500k subs after a few years, this is funny as shit keep it up, after you finish Xcom may I recommend Dark Souls play through? muhahahahhaah MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ignore that evil laughter please and disregard it
the fact that he only has 31k subs depresses me.
I'm presuming you've played through more than once. Does the Archon King ALWAYS do that?!? It seems every game he is just in the worst possible place at the worst possible time. Viper and Berserker lords? No problem. Archon King? SURPRISE BITCH! DADDY'S HOME!
11:49
95?
94?
Who cares.
I’ve missed a _99_ .
Can you beat my unbeatable record?
Seth: *struggles to shred armor off of enemies*
Me: *with 7 Shredder Cannon Grenadiers* Shouldn't have taken Blast Padding kiddo.
I have the feeling, that Bestatnothing should get a Demoman or Soldier Voice pack. It just fits with your playstyle
He may, I'll have to look into that.
Hey, new subscriber here. Whats the name of your voice mods?
While I find the panic in your voice amusing as all hell, the archon king's devastation follows the same rules as Blazing Pinons from normal archons, it tags everyone in a 4x4 area. Spread out more and only one soldier has to move.
And if he still gives you the shits, a psi soldier with stasis locks them down for a full turn, letting you re-position better.

I now want this game just because gordon freeman and freeman's mind voice pack...
Do it. You won't regret it.
Flynn went to space!
iv missed a 97% chance to hit 5 times in a row
Brilliant
I hate the archon king, that devastate ability is so stupid and impossible to avoid. I get that since it is the last alien ruler, it needs to be a challenge, but I think it does the job too well.
Good work on that video
Actually, that was a chokeslam, not a piledriver.
I can't wait 'till you get your hands on some Psi Operatives. Best units in the game, in my opinion.
What voice packs are you using.
What are those solider sound effects? is it a mod? if so, could you give me the name for it please? It's hilarious.
Ken I do believe that's edited in,like when Demoman says "Boom" when things explode. It is hilarious, though.
was that the nostalgia critic
