Lovely landscaping! I would be concerned about the metal edging that separates your driveway from the flagstone being a trip hazard. At my age I look for those things!
Yes. I know of a situation in which the homeowners were giving an outdoor party around their pool and patio. A woman stepped back and accidentally fell into a tiled recessed hot tub and hit her head. Didn't turn out well. I think an attractive solution here might be to remove the stones along the edging and create another bed to flow with the adjoining existing bed with the tree.
Loving the transformation! Such a great space to relax in! When you remove the lions you could also make that bench seating if you wanted. So happy for you guys!

Yass, great flagstones & minimal pea gravel allow water to reach the root system of trees! I do love the St. Francis statue in between the wood stacks (the stacks look like a piece of frame artwork with lots of texture) so please don't move that one. And who doesn't love additional planting space! Great job, guys!

Love the whole new look of your back yard/patio area, Sydney! And the views from your kitchen window must be so pleasing to the eye as well! Can’t wait to see this beautiful transformation continue as you add lighting, decorate at Christmas and also add new things in the Spring! Just an idea for between the two Lion statue posts: our local garden center sold unique benches made from large random shaped pieces of flagstone supported by a concrete base - some were mostly straight, some were slightly curved, some were almost triangle shape - all of which were very pretty! Something like that would blend well with your new patio flagstone, and could be used as a seating area, or as a low table/bench to hold specialty plants in decorative pots, or groupings of small topiaries, or even a potted shrub or small tree (like a dwarf Japanese Maple)! I know that whatever you may decide to do there will be perfect!
I always liked the garden before you took it over, but with all you’ve done, it’s especially beautiful. Both the front and back yards are going to be fabulous by next spring for sure. Thanks for the video.

I'm familiar with the former landscape and really enjoy watching one vision transform into another...knowing they both work for that space. (I remember you scurrying to get your cut flower beds seeded early on -- endless bouquets your reward.) Love the beautiful unstructured patio floor -- casual takes planning. I've wondered if your furniture is placed for intimacy and conversation rather than open to the back like a great room. We like seeing the work in progress. We learn quite a bit from watching how you do tasks. Previous owner would walk and talk quite a bit but did not show too much work. Sydney, Wow!! I love it!! The patio, the grass, the pathways, everything! Just a beautiful transformation!! I really like your style. You really know what you like and have an eye for detail!! I noticed when your husband mowed the grass, it was so easy to do the trimming with the steel edging you have used. He must be loving it!! Can't wait to see more!! PS--keep after that Wisteria!! It may come back with a vengeance! I have a Wisteria trained over an arbor as an entrance to our vegetable garden, and it's a beast!! I have to trim it several times a year. My husband would rather take it down, but it wouldn't be quite that easy. Their roots live for a very long time and will come back wherever and whenever they want!! ☹☹ For now, I've resigned myself to do the trimming several times a year. (Had I only known that when I planted it 30 years ago!!)
