    Dear Doctor Kirren, This is a fantastic video, right on point. They also call it Sensorimotor old, well the ones who enjoy being labeled. I have been going through this hyperbody, hyperbody awareness for many years, and is actually debilitating.🙏

    Dear Dr Kirren. I'm messaging from Australia and have just bought your book. I'm suffering from GAD and fight anxiety and the physical symptoms daily and it feels like it is controlling my life. Breathing and other physical effects now dominate my life and my thinking. Breath hunger and over thinking how to breath now dominate my day and thoughts. I am to see a psychologist next week. I'm not sure how long I can go on like this. I found your videos today, 17/8/2024. Brought me to tears to understand that what I deal with not unique and there may be help. Thank you. Look forward to listening to your book this evening. Many thanks John.

    Thank you so much! I've struggled with this for as long as I can remember, but I'd had a break from it for a while until it got suuuper bad yesterday and my therapist sent me this!! So good to know I'm not alone

    amazing explanation. This makes total sense and i think it may be what I'm experiencing. I have been having the sensation of not being able to get a full satisfying breath especially when exercising. I had multiple tests done including air spirometry, stress test, echo of the heart etc.. and everything came back normal.

    Is there a follow up video somewhere? I can’t find it.

  • @headtrips1

    The manual breathing part is so true! I don’t have a bad control pause, it’s usually between 17-20 and sometimes I can get to 30.
    But I believe my problem is more somatic breathing OCD. Because find myself being obsessively hyper aware of my breathing.

    Hello dr kirren thanks so much for your video !
    Is also apnea related to anxiety? I’ve had severe anxiety and sometimes I catch myself containing my breath and in apnea and it makes me more anxious 😰

    This is exactly me and has been for over a year now! My anxiety subsided many months ago but my air hunger switches on and off each day - for hours at a time. I do over focus on breathing, it does become manual instead of automatic and my chest does tense. How do you relax your chest muscles?

    Air hunger is NOT entirely due to anxiety or depression, or asthma. Many times it could mean B1 or Iron Deficiency. Which poses a significant risk factor for low oxygenation in body tissues, which left untreated could lead to heart failure, air hunger (in B1) and low energy and fatigue (Iron) , Breathlessness , deficiencies in vit E, Copper, B6, B12 or B9. Sometimes it is not all "in your head."

    If we do daily breathing exercises, are we overfocusing on our breathing?

    • @drkirren
      @drkirren  9 месяцев назад +1

      Daily breathing exercises can be a great way to manage anxiety, but for people with obsessive worries about their breathing, where they become fixated on their breathing, it might be best to figure out the best way to use them by getting professional advice.
