I repaired the door lock on a Volkswagen Passat B6

Hello friends,
In this video I fixed the door lock on a passat b6. This is a common problem with this Volkswagen model. When we pull the handle, the lock no longer works to open the door from the outside. To clean the cable and the lock, I used wd 40 and brake cleaner. Sorry for my english. :)

2:25 - 2:30 just so everyone knows these screws a loosened by moving the screw clockwise (to the right) not the conventional way which will lead to the screws snapping 😑

The same thing happened to me. You have to open the metal part, so you can reach in. It is attached to the edge with screws.

Your video jumped from removing the interior metal panel to the exterior door handle removal.. Does the handle need to be removed first?? I removed the window as in your video but something is still holding the interior metal panel from fully coming out, if it the exterior handle or ???

check if you have removed all the panel screws, press the 3 plastic rivets. they are located next to the long cable coming out of the metal panel. push the rubber of the cable to the inside (in the door), and there are also some plastic collars that hold the power cables. it is possible to have to break them and put others after.

What size torx screwsis the back panel held on with please as I have a set supposedly for VW but I don't have that one. Thank you

Yes, was the cable. The lock latch was ok.

It is similar to the one inside, only it is shorter. It is 30-40cm. There are two. The long one on the inside towards the driver, the short one on the outside.

¡Hola! use un destornillador y presione con la punta del destornillador en el centro de los plásticos. golpea el destornillador con un martillo y saltará. no podrás volver a ponerlos, pero no será un problema.
