I'm 33 and I've put off driving for so long because I'm absolutely terrified of it. The last thing anyone needs on a road is a nervous driver. I watched a driving lesson video before this and my heart was in my mouth. Then I found this one, within 4 minutes I was feeling better. I love how you explain everything so casually and clearly. You've given me so much information I didn't know, you've also completely changed my perspective on how driving lessons work. I'm almost looking forward to it now. I'm going to check out more of your videos, thank you. Keep doing what you're doing you're making a difference.

I'm 23y.o and i finally decided to take driving lessons, and im freaking out. I took so long to take driving lessons becuz of my anxiety, but now i actually need to drive since i cant depend on my brother all the time
I just turned 17 and have like 30 hours driving but I look like I am 12 at 5 foot 4. People give me some serious stares when I am in the car. Driving was really scary at first but it’s extremely empowering when you start to get a hold of it.
@@aidey8mph605 People probably don't stare at you when you're driving because you look younger. It's probably all in your head and no one is really staring at you. Either that or, your driving skills aren't that good.
I have over 30 hours but I am still worried because I have my first lesson tomorrow at 10:15 am. Now that I think about it I don’t know why I am nervous but this video was definitely reassuring.
I’m watching this video so my nerves can be a little bit more at ease, have my first lesson in an hour and i just want to go in with a bit of knowledge and understanding. This video has helped me a lot going into my first lesson and what to expect!!
I had my first driving lesson yesterday, and she fully threw me in at the deep end, 3 junctions, one of which was way more than 90 degrees, so I needed to edge forward etc, a double mini roundabout, apparently she doesn't normally do it like that but I did great! Obviously I stalled a few times getting used to the clutch while stopping was my main fault, but it gave me a sense of freedom unlike getting a taxi etc. I'm just watching this video for my next lesson to see what I can improve on/keep in mind for monday , thanks for the video!
Similar to me actually, I only took 10 minutes to get used to driving the car then I was left to it, drove around built up areas and junctions. It was quite fun
Strangely the only thing I remember about my first driving lesson, about 12 years ago, was how to open the door, 'the dutch reach', as it is often called. Don't know why I remember that, think it is because I did not understand, at the time, why the instructor was teaching me how to open a door! Second lesson I remember almost crashing into a bollard, also the instructor having to change gears for me as it was too much for me to process! Remember even if your first few lessons don't go as well the biggest skills are EFFORT and ATTITUDE! If you put the effort in and have a positive attitude towards learning and driving you WILL succeed. People with who put in effort and have good attitude will typically succeed more, in the long run, than those who may have good practical skills but don't put in effort or have a poor attitude.
I've never understood why it's called a Dutch reach! Do people in Holland routinely use the furthest hand from the task to do things?! Good story though i can't remember my first lesson at all lol! Waaaay too long ago.
@@GetDriving Yes don't have a clue why it is called the dutch reach. The idea of doing it is to encourage you to look over your shoulder / blindspot before opening the door, this would help look for things such as cyclists, which are of course quite common in Holland. So perhaps idea is from Holland?
