HEY DOC! Finally learned where/how I was missing the correct application rates for prodiamine. I measured w google earth the sq footage. Then noted rate of application in lbs/1000 sq ft or acre in my case. I actually called Do my own to confirm that the amount of water to distribute the calculated amount of prodiamine is not critical…… just as w spray bottles.I’m going to use my FIMCO sprayer w 12’ boom to put out 1.5# prodiamine in 20 gallons of water. Sprayer runs at 41/2 gallons/minutes sh shouldn’t take long. I did the granular from Andersons 3 weeks ago. This is the second of the split treatment. Thanks for all. We have been following your advice on our small five acre plot focusing on the lawn areas immediately around the house. However, after overseeding our back yard with a cool season landscapers seed mix, we have a very large round spot (10 ft diam.) that is brown. Nothing has germinated and if it did, it quickly disappeared. We treated for grubs, weed, etc. following your guidance. The area is right in the middle of the Bermuda side of the lawn. The rest of the yard looks great! Everything is green and looks beautiful thanks to your advice! Thoughts? Wish I could post as pic here.
Dig a test hole to see what is below first. Then get a soil test of that area only. Either something is subsurface or something in the PH / Nutrient make up is doing it.
Central Cali where I live, I use the barricade from Anderson’s early March, heavy applied…no weeds anywhere all the way thru summer 😁…. Winter time I get poa annua. I applied the barricade week before last, because the greenies are starting to come up…. Yes it is hard to rid my lawn of it…I’m no slouch, I WILL get out and manually remove as many patches of it I see 😂 even in winter
Hey doc. Ive gotten in to lawn care recently since I've got a house now on my families land(former pasture) east of San Antonio, Tx. Needless to say i had a yard full of weeds till about late spring. And without sprigging, seeding, or sod some bermuda came out of nowhere. Choking out everything in some large areas. My question now is how to keep this ball rolling next year and give it the best chance take over my whole yard.
My heart hurt a little bit seeing all those green tomatoes still on the vine. You made the right choice, but man those looked just right for some corn meal and fryin' those puppies up! I was just wondering today if it was too late for the pre-emergent. We've been so dry an hour north of you that I didn't want to just leave it on the ground and I didn't want to spend $50 watering it all in, so it's been sitting in the bag in the basement waiting for some rain. I fought poa most of the spring so I'll be throwing some out for sure between now and Friday. Happy Fall, Y'all!
Is the goal to do 2 applications of pre-emergent one in the fall and one in the spring? Or should you shoot for 3 applications - early fall, mid-winter, early spring?
I have Nutsedge invasion on my Bermuda Lawn. I have tried Nutsedge and Hammer but the nutsedge I have just laughs at these two products. I would welcome any help on getting rid of this large problem. Thanks Doc love the videos.
I have a new Johnathan BBU PR lawn again this year because i think the split pre emerg.harmed my new lawn. It was lush and perfect until summer. I had a bad crab grass problem before . this summer i had none from the split app i did. but the roots just did not dig in. Ph was 6.3 i just applied lime. So i guess come next summer spray and pray with tenacity when i see the crabs?
If you are a cool season lawn depending on your location and with this hot summer it has been any lawn that type is going to suffer. I have no problems with prodiamine Wg65 and splitting treatment ( 2 in fall/ cool) and one in early spring Absolutely NO crab grass in my Bermuda and my poa Anna problem is being reduced , but it's a booger Middle south Georgia about 2 hours from Doc
Doc there is actually a few different modes of action when it comes to pre-emergent. There is products that affect the seed phase, root phase, and shoot phase (new leaves)
Doc, I've a long time subscriber that has learned from your videos. Do I need to water in the preemergent Prodiamine treatment on St. Augustine & Centipede that I put down using your spray bottles a week ago? Thank you, Jeannette
In the Houston zone and winter weeds (dandelions and dollar weed) regular weed killers do not work below 60-degrees. What products can be used on dormant zoysia or St. Augustine?
Hello Doc. Enjoy watching all your videos.

Good advice on the tree cutting.
Pinched chains are no fun.
That looks to be a classic older saw you are using
What brand?
Doc what about cool season lawn .up in the north east
Put down Barricade 5 weeks ago and Dimension 2ew yesterday! On Bermuda. When is the time to re-apply barricade? February? I’m zone 7B in NC.
I've tried to get you cool season lawn guide several times and I can't figure out how to do it.

If it's natural wild Bermuda, just plant common Bermuda seed like Scotts.
Great info!

Where's the info on the specialty annual rye???
What is considered a growing season? I seeded Bermuda in July and it came up nice and its still perfect. Can I apply pre e, or not?
no

It will take multiple applications and start treating AS SOON as you see any growth.

@@scottgay8389 It's brand new seed though not even a seasonal old

Correct but the products used are root phase.

Yes it needs a half inch water
I hope the predicted rain this w/e isn't too late and thank you@@jisboss32.
Yes if no rainfall then water in.

Glyphosate
@@scottgay8389 Thanks for the tip but it too is best over 65-degrees and I have tried it in lower temps with little success.
Have you ever tried blindside? I have zoysia & centipede and it works great in N. Florida winters.
@@paulknoblauch9101 I have not but looking at the prices and seems too much for my home lawn, easier to dig them up
If I plan to move Plugs of Bimini Bermuda from my back yard to my front yard this spring . should I still do the pre emergent in December January ??
I think you'll be ok, but give the transplanting a good 10 weeks in between.
What about zone 7a
