I’m a specialty gas chemist. We go through EXTENSIVE training to deal with accidental gas releases. I’ve been in several high-pressure (3,000 psi) N2 gas leaks during my career. N2 is much lighter than CO2, so it dissipates faster. Even though it does, company policy states that everyone must evacuate the buildings immediately until the potential asphyxiation disaster has been resolved. I noticed that one of those pipes runs through my state. Please, get it out of here!
That pipe runs through your state meaning you have failed to do your due diligence in who you are electing to run your state. I am a dry utility consultant who has designed high voltage, electric high-pressure and low pressure gas systems all throughout California. Utility companies have the right to keep certain maps and information regarding their systems private. But they must always provide ways for the fire department to safely shut down their systems and save the people in harms way. the CO2 is injected into the oil formation to aid in oil recovery. i worked in the oil fields on montana for almost 10 years and am familiar with this. it's not about reducing carbon its about money.
It may be one of scale. The mass of CO2 to accomplish what you are talking about is relatively low. You could pump large amounts of CO2 into the reservoir but only only once the wells are all dried up which takes a very long time.

The best way to 'sequester' C02 is to plant trees and grow things. They take in the C02 and convert it to tree, corn, roses, whatever. Trees with large leaves are the best ones.

Yes, Trump is a builder, we saw Trump build and clean up after 9/11. RFK is a dreamer, a visionary for an inclusive bright future for all. People in power envision a world where we all suffer so they can feel all powerful. Together Trump and RFK can do great things and restore balance and hope.
Not sure what we can do with the costs because the real issue isn't that pharma is "screwing us over", its all these other nations screwing us (the American people) over. These nations tell US pharma what they will pay which is barely over cost less the years and sometimes decades of R&D that costs billions and billions of dollars. We 350 million Americans get stuck eating all of those development costs and the cost of the medication or device while some 7 billion other people get to enjoy our innovations and technologies at a fraction of the cost. Think of it this way; the US represents half of the pharma global market share with the rest of the world representing the other half. Of the rest of the worlds global market share, about half of that is generics of US intellectual property so we end up competing against our own products at prices we cannot match because these other nations skipped the whole R&D process. I don't mind that we practically give this stuff away to under developed nations. I do mind these developed nations that tell us how our system should be more like theirs when they effectively extort the American consumer and taxpayer to cover the entire cost of development and manufacturing while they get it at slightly over cost to manufacture. I'm not saying they don't have their own innovations, but they certainly don't reciprocate the same deals to us that they demand they get to have access to their markets. This isn't a problem unique to pharma/medical device industries.
Both Harris and Trump are opposed to environmental protection and anything else that would slow corporate profits and they will both protect the polluters. That pipe runs through your state meaning you have failed to do your due diligence in who you are electing to run your state. It is the responsibility of EVERY American to stay engaged with what is going on in the country and especially their communities and state. People monitoring connections of those that they put into power is the only way to ensure that you don't get sold out to the highest bidder.

The rest of what you said about staying engaged and monitoring connections is very true though and I wish more people actively practiced that. We are all too distracted by games, tv shows, movies, working 40+ hours a week. I am a dry utility consultant who has designed high voltage, electric high-pressure and low pressure gas systems all throughout California. Utility companies have the right to keep certain maps and information regarding their systems private. But they must always provide ways for the fire department to safely shut down their systems and save the people in harms way. I cannot believe that the CO2 pipeline companies will not provide that information. I would very much like to hear their reasoning behind their claims that terrorist could use this information in a harmful way what a load of garbage.

the CO2 is injected into the oil formation to aid in oil recovery. i worked in the oil fields on montana for almost 10 years and am familiar with this. it's not about reducing carbon its about money.
It may be one of scale. The mass of CO2 to accomplish what you are talking about is relatively low. You could pump large amounts of CO2 into the reservoir but only only once the wells are all dried up which takes a very long time.

Wow! At first I thought that CO2 pipeline was green lunatic code for an oil or gas pipeline. A high pressure CO2 pipeline is a REALLY bad idea. That much CO2 in one place can end the life of a LOT of people in a short period of time. This is completely insane! Keep up the good fight! I remember watching a documentary about lake Nyos in Africa. A natural volcanic eruption under the lake released tons of CO2 and killed hundreds. It’s super dangerous.
We used to use propane, methyl chloride. And ammonia as refrigerants those were band because toxic gases under pressure are bad for breathing when they leak yet a hundred years later we do it again…. Aka insane

Yes, Trump is a builder, we saw Trump build and clean up after 9/11. RFK is a dreamer, a visionary for an inclusive bright future for all. People in power envision a world where we all suffer so they can feel all powerful. Together Trump and RFK can do great things and restore balance and hope.
Not sure what we can do with the costs because the real issue isn't that pharma is "screwing us over", its all these other nations screwing us (the American people) over. These nations tell US pharma what they will pay which is barely over cost less the years and sometimes decades of R&D that costs billions and billions of dollars. We 350 million Americans get stuck eating all of those development costs and the cost of the medication or device while some 7 billion other people get to enjoy our innovations and technologies at a fraction of the cost.
Think of it this way; the US represents half of the pharma global market share with the rest of the world representing the other half. Of the rest of the worlds global market share, about half of that is generics of US intellectual property so we end up competing against our own products at prices we cannot match because these other nations skipped the whole R&D process.
I don't mind that we practically give this stuff away to under developed nations. I do mind these developed nations that tell us how our system should be more like theirs when they effectively extort the American consumer and taxpayer to cover the entire cost of development and manufacturing while they get it at slightly over cost to manufacture. I'm not saying they don't have their own innovations, but they certainly don't reciprocate the same deals to us that they demand they get to have access to their markets.
This isn't a problem unique to pharma/medical device industries.
Both Harris and Trump are opposed to environmental protection and anything else that would slow corporate profits and they will both protect the polluters. I am retired from EPA after 22 years of watching the corporate takeover at EPA. The corporate polluter lobbies OWN EPA. Stein is the only candidate that would protect citizens from these vultures.
