      I don't over seed, I like the few months break of no yard care lol. It usually goes dormant in November.

    Haven't done a pre-emergent just yet but still crushing they neighbor with the greenest yard on the block. Temps here are staying high and will touch close to 90 this weekend (crazy!)....Late shipments of Milorganite going to Ace Hardware. Gave up on Lowes. Stinking up the neighborhood one bag at a time!

      @@BYDonBermudaGrassCentral I always watch your whole videos. The whole thing, information was on point. Glad you used layman’s terms, although I don’t need translation. Learning about warm season grass cause I’m getting off the tall fescue money racket next year. Where I live in NC, without a sprinkler system, TF just can’t take the heat. Will have to keep it in my shaded areas. Going with Emerald or Meyer zoysia next year. The funny bits was good also.

      It’s recommended you wait at least 12 months before you apply any Pre Emergent. Cone spring you have to use a post emergent.

OK, question, I live in Southeastern New Mexico, I live out in the country, what do you suggest for sand bur stickers?? I inherited a bad infested yard when I purchased the home, and is been a ongoing battle since day one. Thank you for everything you do.

    Thanks for the info I have centipede but listen for the advice. I was wondering should I kill the current weeds in my lawn before using a pre emergent. I am in SE Louisiana. It is over 90 today so our grass is still growing between the temp, rain and sunshine. I have Lespedeza and a few other weeds that have starting growing. I killed a lot of them last year and my lawn held up well until the last few months.

      Any chance you can kill weeds and temps are under 85 then go for it. Apply the pre emergent according to your zone and it’s usually listed on the bag.

    Thanks for the video. New subscriber. We have a new construction home with Bermuda grass. We are seeing lots of dallisgrass pop up. I noticed the product you recommended at the end said crabgrass. Will that also work for Dallisgrass? Thanks!!

    BYD, did my 1st appt of Prodiamine, yesterday because of knowing it would rain today, using 4gal. Sprayer, tomorrow going to get Lesco 0-0-7 PreM. for maybe a Nov. appt, saw you had a brand STONEWALL PreM 68%, never seen that at Big Box stores, Which is better to you Lesco or Stonewall?

    Thank always providing great tips and feedback BYD! I’m in Austin, TX, we’ve been having lows in high 50’s and highs in the mid 90’s. I put down some Scott’s Turf Builder Wintergaurd on Oct 1st. I noticed the products in this video are 0-0-7. Are these also a fertilizer? I wanted to lay down some spectrecide pre-emergent and another round of Scott’s at the end of Oct. any thoughts? TIA.

      They’d be listed as a fertilizer because of the 7 percent potassium. But no Nitrogen phosphorus is in them. I personally throttle back on nitrogen this late in the season.

    BYD, I'm in Maryland and just over seeded a new yard about 1 month ago. The grass has come up and cut once but I reseeded some bare spots last week. My question is should I apply a pre emergent in a few weeks or just wait until the early spring to let all the seed germinate and grow?

    So do I need to still apply my Scott’s fall weed and feed? Also you used the spray. I take it that using the spray would cover more area than using tenacity. I’ve small crabgrass issues( less than 5% of the lawn)in a few places

      If you lawn is actively growing then weed and feed is fine. Don’t spray Tenacity on Actively growing BermudaGrass until it’s going dormant.

      This will help prevent or control crabgrass from germination. Yes your sod is not over a year old then don’t apply yet.

    Hi BMC! I'm in kennesaw GA. About a month ago I noticed holes in yard. They look like moles/voles holes. Any sure fire way to kill those pests

    I am in N. Texas and applied ProDiamine in mid October and watered it in as directed. I applied Scott's Winterguard a a month later. My yard has a major infestation of Poa Annua and other winter weeds now. I was watching another video of your's and plan to apply another round of Prodiamine with Image Nutsedge killer . Is that the best approach ?

      Make sure it’s the red label image but yeah. Just note that there will be a major POA issue this season because of this unusual weather.

    I've taken your advice and did not apply the pre emergent this fall due to a new yard planted from seed. My yard is small at 60x60 so I will wait until spring to make my first application. Just spot treat with Spectracide until then. I do not have a walk behind spreader due to the small area. What would you recommend on a Whirl? Mid range 3 or 4 at an average pace? I will be using YM 0-0-7.

    I have a large circle under my tree that's dirt. Should I wait to plant grass seed until next year? I'm in N Texas. Would I then avoid this dirt area with my pre emergent?

      You have at least 12 weeks to apply before you seed in an area but check you product labels instructions before you apply.

    I bought the 19-0-7 Lesco Crabgrass pre-emergent to apply now in Georgia on Bermudagrass. Oddly enough it didnt say anything about watering it into the lawn. Should I do that?

    BYD I bought an Expert Gardner spreader from Walmart. It works well, but do I use the same settings as a Scott spreader?

      I have 🤷🏾‍♂️ idea. It’s one of the reasons I don’t suggest buying spreaders that are not listed on popular products?, see if they have a 1-800 number on the bag, they may be able to tell you.

    BYD, I have a tall fescue lawn in Pennsylvania. Which of the two 007 Lesco products do you think would be best for my lawn. I have 27,000 square feet to deal with so getting an effective jumpstart on weed control for the spring will be a huge help. Thanks as always. I also have a couple of leftover Lesco 19-0-7 with Dimension pre-emergent. Is there any value to applying that?

      That’s ideal for you lawn the 19-0-7. Feed and it has post and pre emergent. But if you don’t want the feed but post and pre go with the Home Depot Lesco 007

      Wait till March next season but you may have a lot of weeds you’ll need to use a post emergent.

    Can you still put down a low N fertilizer this
    time of year? I might get a slight green hit after cutting. I'm in NC and the temps here are still in the high 70's- low 80's.

      Adding N and the lawn is dormant or Harding dormant won’t help green it back up but may help roots get stronger as long you’re adding some K

      You can still apply pre emergent because you will be preventing weeds for next season but yes if the lawn s going dormant and you have weeds do the last step also 👍🏾

    What’s more effective the liquid pre emergent or granular ?

      Both work great 👍🏾, liquid however may give you a more even coverage but requires more work to apply like measuring, pump or back spraying and time.
      Granular is easier to apply, faster with a broadcast spreader. Less math. But may not give best coverage on a lawn that’s not completely filled in with grass.
      I personally like the the granular. What ever weeds make it through I’ll just use post emergents.

    I am in the Atlanta area. How long does pre emergent last? I dropped some last spring and yard was lovely through June. By mid July, the grassy colonizers had over run the yard. Do I need to keep a continuous layer of pre emergent in place year round?

      Apply year round , but depends on the rate it can last 2-6 months. Also applying it does not guarantee 100 percent protection from weeds

      Never used anything like that but I always say experiment 🧪 on your own lawn for results you can actually see 👍🏾

    Got a question. Caught a sale of the Lesco 24-0-11 at Home Depot in early September. Since the price was right (approximately $11 per bag). I stocked up and brought four bags. My question to you is can or should I apply another application in January? I've noticed that my grass is still somewhat green although my neighbors yards are going dormant. Is that a good or a bad idea?

      Bad idea. Although it won’t hurt the lawn it also won’t help the lawn ( BermudaGrass). I’d wait until she greens 🥬 back up in the Spring. Applying high nitrogen fertilizers to a BermudaGrass lawn going Dormant does not help it at all.

      @@BYDonBermudaGrassCentral, sorry to bother you again, however I rechecked my Lesco purchases and the four bags that I purchased were the 19-0-07 in addition to the two bags 24-0-11. With that being said will the 19-0-7 be good for the Jan-Feb application then the 24-0-11 around 6.1?

      I can only say carefully read the labels before you apply. An all natural approach may be better for you but limited.

      There are schedules on the products that have scheduled applications. I’d check that first.
