I just ordered this kit from you guys. I have a 2022 FXBB (Street Bob Softail). Will I need to get a longer brake line? Is the abs line going to fit up fine? Thanks to any answers. 👍🏻👍🏻
Just got my Patriot 2 over kit shipped out to Australia for my 2013 Dyna. Thanks Speed Kings This gear is fantastic, the ride is better than new and I love my Speed Kings t-shirt. Are you looking for an agent for Patriot springs here in Aus?
Great vid, thanks! What height softail rear shock would this kit pair well with? What sort of ground clearance improvement would we see? I’m trying to add like 3” of ground clearance but I’ve no idea if it’s possible.
I got this kit for my FXDLS but am unsure if it’s going to work with the single cartridge. Is it possible to install the new springs and fork tubes and use the existing cartridge?
Question. What was the advantage of removing the 2 inch fork extensions at the top and replacing with 2 inch extended forks. Wouldn't the result be the same or am I missing something? I did not see the 2 inch extensions pit back on. If you had kept them would that have given you an overall extension of 4 inches? Would that have been a problem? Sorry Harley home mechanic NOOB here. Hey guys, fantastic videos. Please keep them coming.
Lord Greystoke with the extensions the rider couldn’t use the Pre Load Adjusters. Now with the +2 tubes he is able to utilize those to dial in his pre load. At the end of the day the extensions and the tubes equal the same length. Just with the tubes the pre load adjusters are useable.
If upgrade my front suspension on my 17 street bob and I don’t want to do the plus 2 kit and I buy the regular patriot Suspension kit with the speed merchant preload adjusters, how much of the spacer and I supposed to cut?
How’s the ride quality affected? Looking to do this on my 20 road king, wanting better ride and height over stock. Kit gets the height but I’m concerned with ride quality.
Awesome vid. Been wanting to ask if vertical scores in the inner tubes require replacing the fork tubes entirely or ifs it’s just normal wear and tear?
Is there any benefit/detriment to extending my forks first or replacing the shocks first? And, how do I measure the preload? Knowing how much of the space to cut off
Use a brass punch next time instead of metal to metal on the dust cover and you don't have to be "Tim the Tool-Man Taylor" with that 1/2 impact with reducer on the pinch bolts. Lol
@@chuglife57 what are you talking about? My bike is a 2016 dyna low rider S. Which has a cartridge in the front left, and standard spring on the right. So it only uses 1 spring on the right. It's done correctly
@@PkwyDrive13 That's not how spring rates work. I've built dozens of FXDLS's. Outside of specifically designed front ends (OEM fxdls), the springs / cartridges have to match to prevent uneven dive while breaking. Your front end will lower unevenly during breaking which applies oppositional force to the lower side. If that happens aggressively enough, your front end will hard slap your tank, and your face will be a meat crayon on the concrete. Do it right, remove the cartridge, buy the new damping rod, and fix yourself before you end up dying.
Great video as always. However what's the advantage of 2 up fork tubes? Aside of just raising the front end, does it help with turn in and or stability at high speed. I'm interested in the set up. Just really curious of its entire purpose. Ride safe and God bless.
I have the 13” rwd shocks from you guys. Is it gonna affect my geometry drastically/negatively if I do +2” in the front? I can already tell a difference with how the front feels with the rear lifted. Also me being a big boy would I want to cut the spacers any less since I would possibly use a shit ton of preload? Thanks!
Question, I ordered this kit for my 2019 FXLR. Instructions say to cut the spacer flush with the top of the tube however on her you mentioned 1/2 inch above the top. Just wanting to confirm.
I only purchased the +2 fork legs wich didnt come with spacers, will the spacers in the stock fork legs work with these or do I need to purchase new spacers,i have progressive springs wich have plastic spacers?
Blacksmith 76 you can just run to Home Depot and get a piece of pvc pipe which is what the plastic spacers are. Just get the same diameter and thickness of what you have already and cut to length.
@@speedkingscycle cool,i thought i could probably do that but wanted to confirm with the expert first,Thanks for the quick as response and the great install vid as well.
ironmyke696 the amount of oil is not as important as the amount of air, its the AIR GAP thats important.i would do as recommended by the manufacturer no matter the length of the tubes. For example, If it says 4 inches from the top then that’s what it’ll be.
Very nicely done. You answered some questions I've been meaning to ask. You guys are setting the customer service bar pretty high.
Good info and sweet background music!

Lord Greystoke 4” is a little more then we would like to achieve. +2 is a great length with 14” shocks. Gives you massive lean angle in the canyons.
Thanks for the replies guys. Much appreciated.
With a 2 inch extension do I have to put longer brake lines on for a road right 2013? Like your videos

very nice video. you shoulda done a before and after pic of the bike.
This bike already had +2 fork extensions so it would look the same. Now he can use PreLoad adjusters with real tubes.
on this kit on the website can i put in the notes to add gold fork tubes instead of the chrome ?

What socket size are those? 35mm?
I have an FXRS lowrider. If i do 2+ on the front, what do I need in the back?
If I'm not putting new tubes on just drilling the damping rods do I have to separate the the tubes completely?
How come you didn’t bleed any air out of the fork tubes after you added new oil?
It’s not a cartridge kit. So that step is not necessary

What’s the size of that metric impact Allen?
Jim Boe 12mm
Good video helped me a ton if I get +2’s does it come with the beer? And I have patriots Ima about to order do I need to cut them also?
You will need to cut the spacer as they are not pre cut. The spacer is aluminum so you could easily cut with a hack saw.
Beer is implied...
Yall just shipped me a set of patriot genesis springs today! Can't wait, I only need one though 😂 fxdls
for the love of got I hope you figured out that's not how that works before you wrecked your bike

hey the link to the kit doesn't work anymore
Any benefit to adding the racetech gold valves with the patriot springs and preload adjusters? 2011 fxdb
Fyi, Patriot specifically states in the packaging and instructions that valve emulators like the gold valves, do not work with their springs.

Leo, Sorry we missed your comment. Th advantage is definitely cornering. It gives you a ton more lean angle clearance.

A question that front rin series a shadow sabre deep i will know 1100? Why i want a front rim Of 21”- inch rays !
What’s the difference between the +2 extensions you removed vs these +2 fork tubes you installed
You can’t install pre load adjusters on top of extensions. :)
Heres a question(maybe a dumb one)....why does the fork tube length have anything to do with the amount of fluid you use??
