It's a very nice pattern. I've tried to knit with a knit row after the purl row. So I knitted a knit row after the purl row, then I began the slip proces on the wrong side. So purl 1, slip 1 Because of starting the slip row on the wrong side, you have to knit the whole row after the 3 slip rows and than purl a row. Now because of beginning the slip row on the right side, you have to knit a knitting row after a purl row. The triangles looking a bit larger. It's also looking very nice. Does the first or the second stich change (in rows 6 and 7) if I would like to make a border of 4 pstiches at the beginning and at the end?

I am trying to knit this and it is curling up at the start, is there a border I can use to stop this?

you cant try 1-2cm of double ribbon with smaller needles after. adding on the wrong side about 1/3 of the total amount of your stitches to even out the edge. if you make open cast-on, it will be much easier and invisible way to pick up the stitches for double ribbon. also you can try i-cord :)
