Steinway. Interesting company. In that it's got a name. Even amongst people who don't know how to play a note. Ask any one to name a good piano....it's always "S&S". Yet, their rep isn't spotless (though I only heard my information from one RUclipsr.). He claimed he found sawdust in his Steinway D. If true that is super sloppy on Steinway's side. That would be like finding cigar ashes in your brand new 2022 Bentley GT. Totally unacceptable. All products should go through a pre-shipment inspection. Usually that does happen with other brands. Most products. But to find debris in a $173k USD concert grand???
This RUclipsr also claims Steinway sends their piano's to dealers where the "final assembly" is done before it goes to the customer. No idea what he meant exactly. But he implied that makes each Steinway inconsistent. As one shop might do a better job. Another shop not. Which again...would be unacceptable in a $100k+ grand and from the most well-known maker...Steinway.
Was his experience isolated? Have any of you had issues upon ssetup? Finding debris you shouldn't in your B or D?
Also...I'd assume most dealers would do THEIR own pre-delivery inspection. I don't see how this RUclipsr could get a D with sawdust in his. How the shop where he bought his didn't bother to do an inspection before delivery.
