    You're going to think I'm crazy...but put a beehive out there. They will increase your yields and after the first year give you real honey that never spoils as long as it covered.

    @Patmac you might want to consider getting a misting hose or running some PVC pipe with strategically placed holes to help with your watering situation. The hoses are great because they’re fairly easy to move where you need them. But either way it can save you tons of time and effort just by turning on a valve instead of other methods.

      If you can't grow plants in the ground try growing in 5 gal buckets. Just drill about 6-7 3/4" holes in the bottom and fill with garden soil. Corn is about the only thing I haven't tried in buckets, and it all works for me. I love just outside Fayetteville, and the sandy ground can be challenging. Had to add lots of compost to and lime to my soil. Also you can get a soil test through your local ag-extention to help with determining what your soil needs.

    My uncle is a former SF guy and Ranger. He's got a garden just like yours. What he does is collect rain water in rain barrels and when he fills them up (when we're blessed with excess rain), he uses plastic bottles and stores them in the basement. Pat, you should seriously think about investing in some of these large barrels if you haven't done so already. Cheers, brother.

    PatMac. Where did you get the material for your raised bed. Looks extremely sturdy. I live in amongst pines. Been trying to grow a garden. Not much luck. Looks like I should go raised bed.

    • @chrisconversino6294
      @chrisconversino6294 2 года назад

      You'll need some soil amendments. Pines actively poison the undergrowth. I want to say by making soil acidic. Do a soil test to find out. Often you can get local agriculture extensions to do it for free. The home tests and the mail away aren't expensive. You can also shift to plants that love your type of soil. I have heavy clay. Zucchini no problem but carrots have to go in pots.

    • @mascasa7502
      @mascasa7502 2 года назад

      NavyEODguy You can get raised beds from Northern Tool or Vego Garden. Lay uncolored cardboard down (like for appliances), then straw, then garden soil that won't compact as much. Give it a couple months or so to settle and then plant.

    And how do you store it after harvest?

    • @chrisconversino6294
      @chrisconversino6294 2 года назад

      There's a process called hardening off. Let the sprouts spend some time outside before full transfer. You bring them in during bad weather (too cold/hot, high winds,etc). Patmac is right, living things need to overcome adversity to thrive. Just introduce it in achievable increments.

      I think it could help him , if he had a neighbor contesting his garden or animals. He could show that his property was certified in court and it might carry some weight in that respect. Might also keep others from building closely to his property. I don’t know. Just thinking out loud is all.

    Thank you for your service. Please ask God to forgive you of your sins, like all who have had to as well. God will apply the sacrifice of his son’s blood to your sin and will adopt you into his family giving you an eternal inheritance. Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin. God’s justice will be dispensed some day. Only by believing on the Son can a person receive pardon. It’s a win win Sir. Please join the family as I would enjoy meeting you there someday.
