A lot of reactors talk over important dialogue and wonder why they don't understand some things. Just watch and you can make your comments at the end. Stef also doesn't need to say much because her emotional facial expressions are the best part of her reactions. Not everyone makes the same emotional investment which makes her great for movie reactions.

The main reason Thanos hasn't already started overtly going after all the infinity stones is that he doesn't yet know where all six are, and isn't confident that he'll be able to obtain all six, and without all six he won't be able to carry out his ultimate plan. But he doesn't want to tip his hand and start going after *some* of the stones without being sure that he can then quickly obtain all six, because if he were to do that, then the Universe would unite against him to try and stop him, and there *are* some forces in the Universe strong enough to at least give Thanos a run for his money, including, to varying degrees... Odin and Asgard, The Avengers, The Ancient One of Kamar-Taj, and the Nova Corps of Xandar. When Thanos does finally decide to act, it's when he feels the timing is right, when he is confident that he can obtain all six stones in rapid succession, and when some of these threats to his plan have been weakened or neutralized. He is patient and he's been working on this plan most of his life... doesn't want to rush and screw it up.

Guys you have to remember Thanos had the mind stone first before he gave it to Loki to use inside the sceptre.
So its possible he already read the minds of Odin, Ancient One, Nebula, Gamora, Eternals, Nova Prime etc.
So him giving the mind stone to Loki (if we look at the events of this movie) was a back up plan in case Loki failed to get the tesseract. So when Thanos says "fine i'll do it myself" i think thats a direct reply to Ronin failing to get the power stone. But adding it to this movie as a tag is to confirm that his back up plan of the Ultron AI failing.

I agree, I love this movie - almost no one mentions how it predicts a hostile AI, as James Spader played Ultron with such humanity & comedy it goes over most people's heads. Of course with Vision it predicts a benevolent AI that actually overcomes the hostile AI in Ultron. The great action & humor makes most people overlook the actually very deep concepts in this movie, thanks to Joss Whedon, who both wrote the screenplay & directed this movie, almost killing himself with stress to make it. It's a real shame that he gets crapped on for this movie, and for his improvements on Zack Snyder's unruly & depressing Justice League.

Wanna know a terrifying physiology fact? Total amputations (like what our Wakanda gun-runner friend had) are actually weirdly good at cutting the blood flow off. Partial amputations? Like, hanging on by a thread? The body tries to save the appendage, and keeps bleeding. Dunno why I brought it up, but it's true. Homie completely missing an arm actually had a better chance at survival against just a wound. Human anatomy is truly bizzare.

51:00 - The actor who has voiced Jarvis since Iron Man (2008) is Paul Bettany. The person playing Vision here is Bettany so he went from a voicing role to a live action role. His real life wife is Jennifer Connelly (keep her in mind).
54:40 - Wanda's brother (who died) is Quick Silver. Basically he's the Marvel equivalent of DC Comics' The Flash. In the comics, he is the son of X-Men villain, Magneto, but switched over to the X-Men (both he and Wanda eventually joined the Avengers).

Quicksilver and Wanda aren't Magneto's children in the comics anymore, their backstory was changed back in 2014 making them non-mutants and biologically unrelated to Magneto. Just for 30+ years they THOUGHT they were related... that's the latest.

11:59 “Peace in our time” is almost always a red flag in modern fiction; it’s a reference (actually a misquote) of Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain. He came back from Munich waving around the treaty he “negotiated” with Hitler, boasting of “peace for our time.” Of course, Hitler broke that treaty pretty quickly, and then kept on pushing.
41:44 After Hawkeye got sidelined for most of the first Avengers movie, this one (and this scene especially) really lets him shine. “The city is flying, we’re fighting an army of robots, and I have a bow and arrow. None of this makes sense.”

The biggest problem for me is, that Ultron was built original by Hank Pym, who also was the real "first avenger", but the MCU just totally forget the guy who was for looong time always a core avenger as Giant Man, Ant-Man or Goliath, together with Janet van Dyne aka Wasp.
My tip : watch "Avengers, Earths Mightiest Heroes" .. great show.

I mean... If you name your movie " *Age* of Ultron", you'd think that Ultron's "reign" is gonna last longer than a week. It was underwhelming but personally speaking it's a fun movie for me cause I get to see Avengers hangout and watching their dynamic is fun.
The movie practically had no lasting effects or character development to the overall Avengers story, besides the addition of Wanda & Vision.
If I had a say in the movie, I'd open from Thor's perspective on Asgard where everything is calm and Thor's bored so he decides he can finally take a "holiday" and go visit his friends. He pops up on Earth, gets attacked by Ultron bots, rescued by Avengers and then goes "what the hell happened here?" From there they could explain how it's been almost a year since Ultron took over the world then second half of the story goes pretty much the same.

The Pinocchio reference is so good. And dudes name is Vision which they kinda mention earlier as Tony's vision. Hulk taking off on his own explained in Thor Ragnarok. Thanos is super strong but not unbeatable unless he has all the infinity stones. These avengers movies lead us to AntMan, back To Gaurdians, Spiderman, Black Panther and Dr. Strange who they mentioned in the Winter Soldier. Culminating in Avengers Infinity War / Avengers Endgame. Then to Marvel TV shows that happen after Endgame Yada Yada Yada and so on. Ant Man is the end of Marvel Phase 2. I can't wait for you to see.

1:03:20 imo its probably the fact that even though he has learned to be the hulk on demand, he can still turn if other people will it. And hes tired of fighting and hurting innocent people against his wishes. Sure he may like natasha but i reckon he was pissed off when she kissed him and then pushed him to force him to be the hulk, even though he wanted to run away. It is kinda messed up when u think that there were people such as natasha and wanda and loki who deceived bruce banner in order to make him turn and fight without his consent, and then he has to deal with the ramifications (remember in the incredible hulk movie, where bruce gets ptsd from his battles!) he doesnt want to fight but he knows people will always exploit him, so he has enough of it and saves natasha before running away on the jet

I love how equally advanced and childish Ultron is. He's quite perfectly a tragic villain. What he does makes sense, in it's own way. But - as Vision points out - it will bring destruction to everything, and so Ultron has to be destroyed. Sad, but unavoidable. Underrated Marvel film.

Here is a fun fact about Pietro and Wanda Maximoff: Both characters first appeared in X-Men #4 (1964) as Mutant twins working alongside the X-Men villain Magneto and his newly introduced Brotherhood of Mutants. This was a problem because 20th Century Fox acquired the rights to X-Men in 1994, so legally, when it came time for Marvel to start working on their films, The MCU, they could not use X-Men or Mutant characters. Same with Fantastic Four owned by Fox, and even Spider-Man who is still owned by Sony.
Thankfully, Marvel negotiated with Fox, who allowed them to use both Wanda and Pietro as long as they didn't call them mutants or refer to their mutant family tree or the X-men. That's why both characters are called "miracles" and "Enhanced individuals" in this film. The same goes with their family history, though both characters have backstories that could easily be explored deeper, revealing more about their past and maybe one day revealing that they are indeed Mutants.
As of 2019, with Disney buying Fox, those X-Men rights have reverted to Marvel, who are free to do whatever they want with X-Men and Mutants within the MCU and beyond. From X-Men 97, an outstanding Animated Series released a few months back, to Deadpool & Wolverine, released in just 5 days, both were created under Marvel Studios/Animation.

I'm not sure they'll ever go down the path of Wanda and Pietro being revealed as mutants in the MCU since neither character is actually a mutant in the comics. They believed they were for decades until it was revealed that they were actually created by the High Evolutionary's genetic experiments, and not only were they not mutants, they weren't in any way related to Magneto.

Wanda doesn't really see the future...
In the comics her power was completely different, but in the MCU she has two main abilities.
    1) Telekinesis - she can project physical force with her mind. So she can move things, create force fields, prroject bolts of force etc.
    2) Mental manipulation/telepathy - she can make people see their deepest fears, things they might not even be consciously aware of.
In Tony's case, seeing another invasion leaving all the other Avengers dead and everyone blaming him for not doing more- that was subconsciously what he feared most. It's a future that he wanted to prevent at all costs.
Wanda realized that Tony Stark would take unwise risks if he took Loki's secpter and experimented with it. She hoped that he would destroy himself by being too eager and reckless to learn its secrets.

It’s especially heartwarming when someone has gone this long without watching these films and puts forth a genuine effort to watch. I think there’s something to seeing others go through the same mental and emotional thought process while watching the films? 9 times outta 10 everything that Stef or another reactor is asking or speculating about is almost verbatim to what the fandom was saying at the time over some… oh sweet Baby Gebus, 16 years of the MCU!? This movie has been one of my go-to MCU movies lately.
James Spader does a great job voicing Ultron in this movie. Ultron is one of my favorite MCU villians.
In this movie we get to know more about Wanda Maximoff and her twin brother Pietro. And we get to meet Clint Barton's family.
I also love that we get a bit more Rhodey/War Machine and more of Sam Wilson/Falcon in this movie.
Fun Fact: If you notice on the video that Clint sends to Natasha at the end of the movie, you'll notice that Clint and his wife Laura named their newborn son Nathaniel Pietro. First name Nathaniel for Natasha, and middle name Pietro for Wanda's brother after he died saving Clint.
And this movie has one of my favorite Stan Lee cameos.

I love this movie - almost no one mentions how it predicts the emergence of a hostile AI, partially using the Mind Infinity Stone, as James Spader played Ultron with such crazy humanity & comedy it goes over most people's heads, that ends up trying to almost destroy humanity in a desperate paradoxical attempt to further humanity's evolution & improve it.
Of course with Vision, who is also played with an honorable humanity by Paul Bettany, who actually is worthy enough to pick up Thor's Hammer Mjolnir, it also predicts a benevolent AI, that fully incorporates the Mind Infinity Stone, that overcomes the hostile AI in Ultron to help humanity, a concept only touched on in such movies as T2, AI, IRobot, etc.
The great action & humor makes most people overlook the actually very deep concepts in this movie, thanks to Joss Whedon, who both wrote the screenplay & directed this movie, almost killing himself with stress to make it. It's a real shame that he gets criticized for this movie - without his first Avengers & this Avengers: Age of Ultron, also introducing amazing characters Wanda The Scarlet Witch and The Vision, there wouldn't have been the same amazing movies & series as Captain America: Civil War, Infinity War, Endgame, WandaVision, Doctor Strange & the Multiverse of Madness, & soon Agatha All Along.

Wanda reads minds and played on the Avengers' fears. She knew Tony wanted to create something that would protect Earth permanently, regardless of whether the Avengers themselves lived or died. Tony played around with Artificial Intelligence in order to create Ultron. His plan for protecting Earth. Make the Avengers obsolete, allow them to go back to their lives.
She wasn't able to read Ultron the machine's mind. But when he put his mind into a living thing, that Helen Cho had created for him. She could.
Ultron thought the Avengers were the biggest source of trouble on Earth. In order to create Peace in our Time, they would need to die. Humanity would need to evolve and upgrade, hence the plan to drop a massive rock from orbit.

47:40 the line is from the first Avengers film. Cap says to Tony that he's not the "type of person to make the sacrifice play" and Tony says back that everything special about Captain America "came out of a bottle". Both of these end up being untrue. Multiple times we see Iron Man sacrificing himself. Tony can be complicated and egotistical at times but he was always doing what he could and more in the field. And Cap already proved that he didn't need the Super Soldier serum to be special. His heart was always in the right place. He was always persevering despite his physical disabilities. He especially proved that when he jumped on the "live" grenade to save everyone in the first Captain America movie

She freaked out because she saw in Ultron's head his plan for throwing an asteroid at Earth to try and force humans to evolve so they are strong enough to protect themselves. She didn't see the future, she just read his thoughts since that body (later Vision's body) had organic tissue and a mind, it wasn't just pure robotics like Ultron was this whole movie.

    Some Infinity Stone background:
They were formed out of the leftover energy when the Universe was created. They have different primary aspects (space, power, mind, etc.) but all have the ability to create and destroy. Exposure to a stone can enhance an innate ability. Wanda had innate magical ability, and Pietro could run fast. Exposure to the Mind Stone (the one in Loki's scepter) amplified those abilities, but other people exposed to the same stone got destroyed.
In Captain America, exposure to the Tesseract made the Hydra scientist smarter, but touching it could destroy things. Thanos had long had the Mind Stone, which made him stronger, and nearly immortal. He's not the strongest being in the whole Universe, just the part of it the MCU portrays. The Celestials are the most powerful beings.

Hi Stef, nice to see you!😊 That thing that came alive in Tony's head at Hydra was one of the creatures from New York 2012 that came through the portal. Hydra was apparently experimenting with it. James Spader (The Blacklist) does a great job as the voice of Ultron. The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy have some of the strongest films in the MCU, IMO. I think the thing with Bruce and Nat was mainly offscreen in between films. Don't worry Stef, the "Black Widow" (2021) film goes into details about Nat's life.😉 The twin Wanda was able to see what was in Ultron's mind and what he was planning. She can not see the future. You are right Stef, he IS worthy. He is known as "Vision" or "The Vision". I didn't like they killed Wanda's brother Pietro, just after we get to know him. I think they did that to show the real life danger of the situation. Great emotional reactions to another well made Avenger's film, Stef!!!🎬👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Looking forward to you getting to the final two Avengers films, which are HUGE!😉
